Root Canals: I required 2 root canals on teeth #s 24 & 25. I was referred to Dr. Shah, DMD who…read morespecializes in Endodontic by my dentist Dr. Tommy Turkiewicz, DMD. Both practitioners are located in Peachtree City, Fayette County, GA. I had no preconceived idea of what I might expect, as I have never had a root canal and those I do know that have had root canals (they) were done so long ago I was certain the procedure would be updated. When I walked into the Office, I was impressed by the waiting area which had a wonderful light & clean scent - NOT perfume & not medicinal, simply fresh. The seating area is tastefully appointed in soothing paint colors, pleasant artwork on the walls seasonal decorations (in this case miniature pumpkins, orbs, hand painted real pumpkins as well). I was also greeted by a smiling & friendly office staff who were prepared with my information in hand. I somehow forgot my referral paperwork to which they replied kindly they would contact Dr. Tommy's office on my behalf. It was the "kindly" that impressed me - no indication that they were inconvenienced by having to make the contact. An extraordinary response considering many times graciousness is not displayed in many customer/patient related environments. I felt comforted by their response. The Care, Quality, and Professionalism displayed & taken by Dr. Shah & his assistants was exceptional! Full & complete information about the procedure was given prior to any procedure work commenced. I was told it was going to be a 2-visit procedure, the chosen technology used and for what purpose. There were 2 televisions for viewing: one parallel to the chair and one on the ceiling. I asked if it was ok for me to listen to an Audiobook during the procedure, which was encouraged so long as I was able to hear any questions asked. After full mouth X-rays taken, I was seated and Novocain was administered. The reason I bring this up is in all my life never have I experienced such a painless administration of Novocain! The technique employed included redirecting pressure on my lower lip while brief injections were administered. I never felt a pinch!! Remarkable! Sunglasses were placed over my eyes so the lights would not bother me. Quite considerate! After the procedure was complete, Dr. Shah (whose assistants were gentle, worked seamlessly with Dr. Shah, communicated clearly and genuinely enjoy their team & profession) showed me the work he performed and his expectations for success. They all bid farewell and to call with any questions or concerns. I Made my 2nd appointment, which was brief & rescheduled for 18 months noting I need a follow-up appointment with Dr. Tommy to complete any dental work needed. Post-Root-canal: the area around my gums & teeth were tender, not excruciating, antibiotics & Tylenol were all that was needed after the 1st visit. I started antibiotics 2-days prior to my appointment and continue until completed. overall this was a relaxing and pleasant experience. Dr. Shah is caring and clearly understands his role as a professional as well as genuine patient care. Thank you!!

(Two uncles are dentists out of state, so I'm picky about who touches my teeth!) Was it comfortable? Not really, but it was much more comfortable than the last two I had done. Dr. shah was patient with me, continually checking on how I was mentally. He was constantly concerned about my well-being and dental anxiety, explaining what he was doing every step of the way. Thank you, Dr. shah!

If I could give this place a -0 star I would me and my mom has been patients at this place since…read more2015 honestly don't know how we stayed so long because the atmosphere is very cold and not welcoming it became worse recently. My mom has been having the same ongoing issue with the same crown coming off her crown popped off on July 6, 2023 she wasn't eating anything she was simply TALKING the rude desk staff called on July 10, 2023 for her to come in at 4pm I was hesitant on taking her back to this place because this is unacceptable he forced putting the same crown that clearly doesn't fit as a temporary the same day her face was swollen He didn't numb her when drilling her tooth. He also nicked her tongue with the drill it is now Sunday morning July 16, 2023 and her tongue is still in pain. We are never returning back and I honestly hope he doesn't see another patient again that explains all of the cancellations and open appointments he has. Oh and at my last cleaning he didn't even have the decency to come look at my teeth afterwards. Please please please go elsewhere to a dentist that cares about their patients. UPDATE: 7/20/2023 my mother received a rude voicemail from the unprofessional desk staff stating that it is normal for the dentist to not numb patients before drilling which is insane she is still in pain to this day she was not caring at all about the situation and stated that she will remove us from the schedule which is fine because I never enjoyed having someone in my mouth that is not groomed and looks like he just rolled out of bed. My suggestion would be that you put the time and effort that you spend getting new fancy equipment and at least look presentable at work. Also, I think it's pathetic that you left yourself a review to outweigh your bad review which makes me question the other 400 5 star reviews is it you Steven your staff or bots leaving reviews for you? To cover up your BOTCHED work. So sad I pray my mom gets into the right care soon and I will research future methods on how to address this situation. AGAIN do not go to this "dentist" Oh and I have a friend that let him do a crown for him that cracked a while ago just from him eating a French fry he tried to get this corrected and careless Steven stated that he need to pay him $500 for him to correct everything he still has not got his crown replaced CLOSE DOWN!!!!!!

Dr Raymond communicated the process clearly. A year later, the follow up visit showed that my jaw and tooth were healed and healthy. Overall, my experience with Dr Raymond and his team was excellent.

I initially saw an endodontist who diagnosed me with issues involving my two front teeth--one tooth…read morethat needed a root canal, and the other tooth that needed retreatment. This doctor ultimately said one of the teeth might need to be extracted later on. Because it was a significant and concerning diagnosis, I told him I would like to get a second and third opinion, which he fully supported. After some research, my husband found Modern Endodontics of Buckhead. Their website emphasizes "advanced technology," "compassion," and a "patient-centered approach," which gave me hope. Per their website:..."they (modern endodontics of Buckhead) care for each patient from the first phone call all the way through follow-up treatment ....." Unfortunately, my actual experience was far from what they advertise. From the first phone call, the front desk staff--particularly one individual--was very dismissive and unhelpful. I got the distinct impression that she was more focused on her upcoming vacation than trying to help me. I explained that I was seeking an unbiased third opinion and that I already had two recent 3D scans and doctors' notes. However, she was adamant that Dr. Raymond required scans taken only in their office. I completely understand that some providers prefer to use their own imaging systems, and I even offered to take a third scan, if needed. All I asked was that the doctor at least review the scans I had already paid for before making that determination. I also tried to find out his availability to come in for an initial consultation. However, she did not want to put me on the schedule until the doctor had reviewed the documentation I provided. I put effort into sending all these images and information without knowing whether I would actually be seen. Per Modern Endodontic's of Buckhead's website, "Dr. Raymond starts by reviewing your medical history, taking radiographs (x-rays), performing an oral examination, and doing diagnostic tests." Instead, it seems Dr. Raymond reviewed a report from one of my prior doctors--without ever speaking to me, reviewing my scans, or examining me in person. According to the receptionist, Dr. Raymond's recommendation was to extract both teeth and that he didn't want me to have to spend extra money. I was very confused. How could a provider make such a serious recommendation without even examining the scans they insisted were necessary, let alone evaluating me in person? And I much rather keep my teeth as long as I can and spend the money. Making a diagnosis without that interaction is not thorough--it's dismissive. When I asked how he arrived at that conclusion, the receptionist simply said, "He can just tell." When I mentioned that another endodontist believed a root canal was still a viable option for one tooth, she responded, "I don't know. That's just what he said." Trying to get any clarity or meaningful assistance from the front office was frustrating and demoralizing. In the end, my husband pointed out this may have been a blessing in disguise. And I agree. I wouldn't feel comfortable entrusting my dental care to a provider who refuses to review available information or make a diagnosis without seeing his patients-- and whose staff treats patients with such disregard. And I saved $450 for the consultation. Unfortunately, my experience with Modern Endodontics of Buckhead was unprofessional, unwelcoming, and disappointing. I cannot recommend this practice.
