Two old houses (100 + years old) and over 45 years of homeownership: these are the only people we use. They have fixed everything, big and small, and fix it well the first time. When I told them we were having 1st floor ceiling work done, they said to call them when the ceiling was down, and they'd come in and replace the 100 year old pipes in the second floor bathroom. There were cracked/rusted galvanized pipes located behind the walls of an early 1900 house that was a rental property of mine in East Baltimore's Greektown. I called several different plumbing companies that came out in order to assess the problem and to price the repairs. After 4 different companies gave me outrageous estimates and resolve to include tearing out 4 unrelated walls for this repair I did my homework and was truly blessed to find Forster Pluming Co. There arn't enough stellar words in the dictionarey to describe Brian, the owner who personally oversaw this job and his work crew who werevskilled, knowledgeable, professional and no nonsense. I have been using Forster Plumbing for about 15 years, and they never disappoint. Brian is the owner/operator and generally has 2 or 3 experienced plumbers working for him. I find it so much more pleasant dealing with a small outfit rather than a mega operation. One hundred percent of the time that I call, Brian himself promptly answers the phone. I can't say that about very many businesses - particularly not in the trades. Beyond that, he or his crew have appeared for their promised appointments 100% of the time. The work is top of the line quality at very affordable prices. I long ago stopped asking "the rate" because I am confident that the total charge will be reasonable, and it always is reasonable. Indeed, "rates" can be deceiving anyway. The real issues are integrity and competence. Respecting both, Brian excels. read more

I have this little rental house and I want to keep my great tenants happy. So over the past three of four years these plumbers have been out for nearly everything that can go wrong with plumbing....the tenants are always happy, I am happy, great business that does great work on time and at a rate that you know is well worth it. Quick to schedule and do good work. Labor/Service charge is the highest around and unpredictable. Seriously, not even 15 minutes of work, non emergency call, during a weekday, less than a mile from their office... $170 labor charge! I'm baffled. Previous calls have been reasonable and even insightful as once they even showed me where to get an old school piece and how to do some work myself. We needed a vanity replaced in our bathroom. They gave us a estimate that we thought was reasonable. We then scheduled a repair date and to our surprise they came out and did a wonderful job. We had an issue with a leaking pipe this week and Forster Plumbing was great to work with! I called them on a Monday evening and they were able to come out the next day. While I thought they'd only be diagnosing the problem, they stayed and got the entire job done in one visit, even though there was far more to it than expected. Extremely high labor cost. Had them caulk one bath tub and labor of $160 was charged. Ridiculous... Will not use them again. Recommend you price compare first. There have got to be less expensive plumbers out there. read more

We had to evacuate Wilmington recently and came to our daughter's house in Baltimore. Every time that we are here, we try to help with needed projects. The replacement of water heater and bath vanity top was on that to-do list. We called Forster Plumbing out of the blue and spoke with Brian. He came out within the hour and gave us a quote. During my 25 years in my 1850 Federal row house with a mix of old and modern plumbing, this company has provided the most prompt and excellent work at the best price. Jobs include repair to old tub fixtures for which they found an old freebee piece, saving the cost of a complete replacement, the replacement of an old gas line to my stove, and repair of a leaking iron pipe in the cellar. read more

I called Forster Plumbing because of the other great review on Yelp. The plumber came to look at a leaking furnace, malfunctioning toilet and leaky faucet at my rental property. He fixed all that AND looked at a problem with the stove! He was responsive and quick and very reasonably priced. I will certainly keep his number in my file!
