It has beautiful green fields and a long driveway, making the event space private and remote. A large parking lot to accommodate plenty of guests made getting anything you needed to leave in your car easy to access. I thought the idea of bungalows on site for the wedding party was a neat idea, and it was great to see our friends let loose, drink and have fun, and know they could get to their room safely. It also was convenient for those families with little ones who needed to retire early. Ceremony and reception spaces were both large and beautifully decorated in a chic rustic barn look. The staff was great about adjusting games, ceremony times, and events to some unexpected rain. We even had some umbrellas brought out and chairs dried prior to starting the ceremony. Bartenders and waitstaff were great, and music was able to be played at the perfect noise level to get people in the mood (I hate venue restrictions with subtle soft jazz noise levels for weddings..impossible!). The event time was generous and more than enough to party everyone out. Lovely location.

Also board games and a little free library. The special on the charcuterie was perfect. The view of the rolling hills and lake with the Adirondack chairs and grape vines was inviting and relaxing. Recently visiting out of state from Napa California and was starting to feel a little homesick…read more Pleasant Valley Farm and Vineyard came highly recommended by my partners parents. We loaded up and headed out! The property is stunning and very picturesque, with plenty of seating for small & larger parties both inside and outside; including shaded patio seating. The staff was absolutely friendly and a delight. Helen and Janet were phenomenal. They gave us a history of the property, answered any questions we had about the process of the wine making, and checked in on us multiple times. Keeping the good vibes going! They have 12 drinks to try; 10 wines and two ciders, and sampling can be done various ways. You can purchase three tastings for $8, purchase by the glass or by the bottle. Additionally they have both a nonalcoholic and slushes with alcohol. Which was pretty sweet and refreshing on a hot day and already has us craving another one. Oh can't forget they also have some delectable ice cream bar flavors like strawberry lemon cake! I sampled all of the wines and two ciders. My favorite wines were the Itasca, Petite Peal, and Chambourcin. The Chambourcin reminds me of a flat version of the sparkling red they serve at Domaine Chandon, so I picked up a bottle to bring back home to a friend in California. I recommend paying for the charcuterie board as well as it pairs nicely with the wines. The cheeses, fruit and olives were all fresh and tasted great. Big thank you to Helen and Janet, for making our first trip up so special. Will be back for sure when in the area and will start recommending to all of our friends & family.

After our visit to our lady of good help shrine we were very hungry so we looked at Groupon & Yelp…read moreto see what we could find. Our Lady of Good Help Shrine is located in the middle of nowhere, in a field far from anything. We found a Groupon for 4 people - $40 for $22 at a place called Rendezvous. After mapping the location we proceeded to drive from Our Lady of Good Help Shrine to a location in the middle of nowhere 9.2 miles away on a country road intersection. The Rendezvous is a combination restaurant/bar/bowling alley down by 2 county roads. When we walked in we had to go down about 4 or 5 steps into a very dated establishment. There were a number of people sitting at the bar having drinks and watching college games on tv. The bowling alley was empty when we got there. We asked the bartender if we could grab a seat and she said sit anywhere. The dining room looked like the basement of a old 60's condo that I use to live in. There were folding tables and chairs set up so the 4 of us grabbed a table. The waiter came with 4 menus and gave us a brief rundown on some of the items. He was a young guy that was very pleasant & was willing to put up with questions from the Illinois city folk. Overall the service was good, a little slow, but good They have a variety of items for dinners and were reasonably priced. I orders the family style broasted chicken (as much as you want) which was very good that came with way too many sides. The sides included mashed potatoes (ehh made from a powered mix), coleslaw (which was very good, seasoned well with fresh ingredients), stuffing (ehh not worth mentioning), gravy (kind of a grey color and way too much cornstarch), corn (not too bad) & sauerkraut (ehh I could have done with out it) & desert (cherry cheesecake, brownies, pumpkin cake& homemade kit Kat cake). Did I mention I tried all of them? The broasted chicken was delicious and by far the best item in the family style meal for $8.95 all inclusive. My wife's friend ordered the 4 piece broasted chicken dinner. Her husband and my wife ordered the short ribs which were pretty blahhhh It was an ok meal (broasted chicken was pretty good I would give this a solid 4+ stars) for a reasonable price, huge quantities and good service. The short ribs were probably not even a 2 star. I doubt if I will ever be out there again in the middle of Packer country, but hey if you don't try it you never know what you are missing.
