Upon sitting down we were immediately served, but picked up on the fact that majority of the other people sitting at the bar were staff. Eventually our first bartender left and a couple other girls came over to bartend. When more people began arriving, we still were pretty much the only couple consistently at the bar. With two bartenders behind the bar on our side we had to wait an absurd amount of time for drink refills. I sit two seats down from a woman I picked up on that she actually works there, and our bartender stood and talked with her majority of the night. The bartender would go minutes without looking our direction and multiple times we had to verbally try and say something to get her attention. At one point another staff member had to even physically let them know that we were waiting to be taken care of. I'm not normally one to say something about a place, but as visitors we just didn't feel very welcome. I genuinely felt like I was at a staff party rather than a bar.

When I mentioned that I was upstairs, the bartender told me there was no server upstairs and that they would have to find me. I completely understand needing me to stay downstairs, but the way it was communicated came across as unnecessarily rude and like I was inconveniencing him. A simple, "We don't have a server upstairs, so could you please stay down here so we can bring you your food?" would have been much more pleasant. Overall, the food was tasty and the beer great (I had the pesto fries and the Garten Party IPA), the event fun, but the interactions with the staff made the experience less welcoming than it could have been.
