Tonight I ordered the wings and got a side of fries. Everything came out pretty fast, but as soon soon as the wings arrived, I noticed that bits of the feathers were left on a flat and hadn't been cleaned off. Plowed through the rest of the featherless wings and they were cooked pretty well. The fries also were cooked well and were seasoned nicely. I just couldn't passed the wing with the feathers. Its a shame that an extra 15 seconds weren't taken to properly clean the wings or this would've been a better review.

I am a guest next door at the hotel and this is our first most likely last visit to Door county…read more Although if we were to come back we would definitely come back here. The hotel and the restaurant have been thoughtfully redesigned and renovated. I understand it was completed about two years ago. You can tell a lot of time and money went into updated 17 rooms and a restaurant so I can appreciate the dedication as small business owners. I also think it was very smart to make it dog friendly as I know from owning air bnb you will book twice as fast as if you don't. Any dogs we have encountered were well behaved and better than most kids these days. We went to the restaurant last night but had to sit inside because of the Canadian wildfires which I must say diminished the ability to enjoy the area and I'm sure they ended up with a lot of cancellations because the hotel was only about 1/2 full but the restaurant was doing a decent business. The restaurant was good. A few things a miss but overall I would return and may do so tonight if the smoke lifts to be able to enjoy the outdoors in JULY! My only criticism is if I ask for bread like a bread basket don't tell me you have one when you don't but still appreciate the effort. The bartender was very sweet and I would say the Alfredo was better than the bolognese because I got a pappardelle noodle when it said tagliatelle and the sauce was not a true bolognese and had a lot of big chunks of Italian sausage. Yes it was the chef's spin on it but was pretty tasty and I could tell homemade. The Wente Pinot could be improved upon but the brownie was outstanding. Chefs kiss. Give them a try and I think you will enjoy. Yes it's not in egg harbor but for us worked well because we're leaving for Milwaukee to see friends so being on the south side worked for us. The town itself isn't much and honestly if it wasn't for this hotel there wouldn't be anything for about 15 minutes in any direction for other food options. Kudos to the owners for turning around an old run down place and giving it new life! Your beds are comfy your lakefront is great and your efforts are clear.

All of the larger cities in the state have their top bars and places to grab a cocktail and very quickly this location has placed itself right at the top! This is the bar we kept seeing recommended. We got there pretty early for a Friday night (probably around 8-9) and there were only a few other people at the bar with us. The atmosphere of the bar is nice, and I enjoyed playing a game of darts. Upon sitting down we were immediately served, but picked up on the fact that majority of the other people sitting at the bar were staff. Eventually our first bartender left and a couple other girls came over to bartend. When more people began arriving, we still were pretty much the only couple consistently at the bar. With two bartenders behind the bar on our side we had to wait an absurd amount of time for drink refills. I sit two seats down from a woman I picked up on that she actually works there, and our bartender stood and talked with her majority of the night. The bartender would go minutes without looking our direction and multiple times we had to verbally try and say something to get her attention. At one point another staff member had to even physically let them know that we were waiting to be taken care of. I'm not normally one to say something about a place, but as visitors we just didn't feel very welcome. I genuinely felt like I was at a staff party rather than a bar.

Two stars for quality of food and wait time. Decided to eat a salad for lunch since I'll be eating cheese curds tonight :-). Chicken caesar salad with chicken was the choice. Very slow and very few people eating here so no reason why something this easy takes over 30 minutes. When it did show up, I expected the chicken breast to be freshly grilled. To my surprise, it wasn't and was cold. Now I ask, how long does it take to throw four items on a plate? There was nothing special about the salad at all. Hard pass.
