Updated review with photos to show the damage to my poor skin…read more My experience at Skin Glow started well and quickly escalated to be a horrific regret. I came in for a consult to help get rid of 1 sunspot on my cheek. They conducted a visia scan to see how to best treat it. The technician Rebecca advised my skin was very good under the surface and the spot was quite superficial. It should take 2 rounds of BBL to be completely sun spot free. I have dark skin so was very very skeptical and nervous but Rebecca assured me she had preformed the treatment on darker skin and had positive results. The first treatment went well and as Rebecca suggested. The treatment was virtually pain free and comfortable. My one spot appeared darker in the days following the treatment but sloughed off to reveal a slightly lighter sun spot. This was positive. Then I went in for round 2. This felt completely different. It was uncomfortable and a bit painful and I felt a burning sensation. I asked Rebecca what was different and she said nothing. Only that the machine was penetrating deeper. I felt the machine spot treating much more than the first time which was strange because I only had 1 spot and this felt like agrressive zaps all over my face. Leaving the treatment my entire face was fully covered with spots that got much darker in the coming days. It was very itchy and irritating. I had to cancel work appointments for the next 2 weeks as it was so bad and I needed to wear a mask and sunglasses outside because I looked so scary. After about 2 weeks the spots fell off however, it looked like I was missing skin like an open wound. I had not itched or anything but this did not seem normal. After about 24 hours after that, my skin looked perfect. Then the worst happened, all of the spots came back as scars. I now have 23 spots all over my face. During this time I notified the clinic and they said it was perfectly normal. Still, feeling it was abnormal 1 week later I spoke to the clinic owner Carolina who said it was normal and BBl always makes your skin worse before better and that it can take 3 months to see the results of your first treatment. This wasn't at all in line with anything I read online from other clinics and in fact, other clinics said it's unsafe on dark skin. From there I sought out the opinions of 3 other vancouver clinics whom all told me it is not normal and that they would never have performed this treatment in the first place. The spots on my face are not sun spots but rather burn marks from the machine. I went in for a follow up with Rebecca whom told me they can fix it with a peel and they would offer me a "discount." After paying $400 for them to mutilate and destroy my face, they expect that I roll the dice and pay them more to try to fix it? I've emailed Carolina and she is yet to respond to what is now an urgent matter. I am absolutely devastated and insecure about my face, now needing to wear layers of make up (I never wore before) and invest in dermatology and treatments to correct their negligence. Update- Skin Glow has not resolved this issue. I was distraught about my skin but I am shocked at their lack of interest in making this right. I was offered a refund in exchange to delete this review with no admission or apology for what they did. They were not concerned with destroying my face but continuously asked me why I am "trying to destroy their small business." Initially they offered to do a peel to correct their negligence however, upon advice from other clinics and a dermatologis, a peel in the summer runs the risk of more damage. The trust is completely eroded and I will be getting the damage fixed in the Fall by a reputable clinic. Instead of compensating me with the small amount of a refund and cost of the peel so I can have it done elsewhere, they are saying my allegations are false. I've included photos so you can see how skin glow ruined my face. The image without spots shows what my skin looked like before I put my self in the hands of Skin Glow. It has been 6 months & my face is still covered in spots but now finally healing thanks to the help of a dermatologist and SKN clinic. I've spent hundreds of dollars to fix the damage that Skin Glow caused me.

September 22 review: Don't get sucked in by their good value…read morepromotions like I did. I've been to several spas/clinics and regularly get facials and microneedling treatments. I thought their promotion was such a good value, and went in for the first time. Here are all the things wrong with this place: -She didn't tell me her name, I only know her name from the receipt after the appointment -The promotion claims to include a VISIA skin analysis, WASN'T done. She didn't even ask my about my skin concerns or routine -I was told to lay on top of the bed, no blanket or anything, and AC was blasting. I had to keep my clothes on including my jacket, which she got orange serum on -The room had WORKOUT music playing, really, it's the music my boxing classes play, not relaxing at all -The service itself felt very lacklustre, I've never been to a facial treatment where no massage was offered, even the application of serum was short and not massaged into the skin -I wasn't told or given any aftercare instructions, most places let you know to avoid certain products for the next little while post micro needling I will not be returning. I only tried it out because of the promotions, but I'd rather pay more money to receive good quality treatments. September 28 reply to owner: - I left a tip as my negative review wasn't only based on the technician, it was the entire clinic. I only tipped 15%, rather than the 25% I tip for other clinics. - It's true that Carolina, the owner, and I spoke on the phone after my review. However our conversation over the phone was quite different than this reply. I was ready to give the clinic another chance next month, but see below for why I will never recommend this clinic to anyone. - She mentioned that the technician is very experienced, but probably had an off day. I was never once asked if I was "okay". I didn't even know her name. Carolina also mentioned that they are "a small clinic" and "know the clients very well". If that's the case, shouldn't they have known I was a first time client, like I mentioned in my e-mail at time of booking? She also said the receptionist was probably "off" and appeared not as welcoming due to not feeling well. - She states that after care instructions were sent to me via e-mail, this is FALSE- and I mentioned it in our phone call that I NEVER RECEIVED after care instructions, I told her I had to actually Google for after care instructions myself. In fact, I had to reach out to the clinic via phone to get my deposit refunded as they forgot to take the deposit off of my total cost. - Lastly, the thing that makes me feel like this clinic is sneaky, is that they CHANGED the website after my review. At time of booking and appointment, the website clearly stated the VISIA Skin Analysis (value of $75) is included. After Carolina's reply, I checked the website, and they have updated it. I can provide photo proof to show this change was made after our conversation. I felt like this was an attempt to make my claims invalid.

I was reluctant to write this review because usually I don't care. But after last night's…read moreconsultation and how I was made to feel, I decided to go ahead with writing. I had heard such great things about Kam and her services from my friend and upon reading her reviews, especially on how she can treat people of colour effectively, I was 100% certain on going to Kam for my laser hair removal. I was actually ecstatic about my consultation - I wouldn't be commuting all the way from Surrey if I wasn't. That being said, yesterday at my consultation, she was degrading, patronizing, and didn't address the concern I came to her with - laser hair removal. From the get-go all she spoke of was my acne. How bad my acne is. How I can do this, that, and the third to fix it. I sat there listening, knowing what my skin and body are capable of anyway. She did go into depth about hair removal, but didn't address MY OWN hair growth or hair problems. Furthermore, what REALLY threw me off from the entire consultation was what she said to me. She said to me that when I walk out of her doors, I become her client and I represent her business. And she can't have me looking the way that I do (whatever patronizing thing that means) representing her, because it will affect her business negatively. She ended it by saying "we have to fix you head to toe" and my friend who came along with me can vouch for this. I for one am not only looking for a laser hair removal technician, but someone who makes me feel comfortable in my own skin. Hearing additional words such as "we don't just want to be average, we want to be perfect or the best" doesn't really warrant innate confidence, which I have been lacking anyway due to my skin. I understand Kam may have had good intentions and wanted to help, but I felt ridiculed. Furthermore, the fact that I was not given a discount having been referred from my friend (when MY friend is getting discounted services because SHE HERSELF was referred) is absurd. Nonetheless, I still was okay with the price because it was still reasonable but, she made me feel like she didn't WANT me as a client and that's what she has gotten.

I'm sharing my experience so others can make informed decisions before choosing Vancouver Laser…read moreClinic When I first visited the clinic, I was initially very impressed. The clinic looked professional and the staff were friendly and pleasant. During my consultation with Ale, I clearly explained that my only concerns were a few very small threadlike capillaries on my nose and chin, and laser hair removal for my chin and upper lip. I specifically asked for the fastest and most effective treatment to remove the capillaries. I had also recently had facial treatments done in another country and my skin had no redness or discoloration, so I was not looking for general facial rejuvenation treatments. I was recommended BBL treatments and encouraged to prepay for a package to receive "promotional pricing." Because I was not knowledgeable about laser technologies at the time, I trusted the consultation advice and prepaid $1,896. ( I later found out that their "promotional pricing" are more expensive then other clinics regular prices). During the BBL treatment visits, several clinicians performing the treatments expressed surprise that BBL was being used for such small threadlike capillaries. They commented that this approach could take many sessions and may take a long time to work and I would have to pay for more sessions!. MOA staff also made similar remarks during conversations when I asked about the lack of results. These comments are what first made me question whether this was actually the most appropriate treatment for my concern. After completing the BBL sessions, the capillaries were still present and there was little visible improvement. I later went to another clinic recommended by a friend where the capillaries were treated using a Nd vascular laser in a procedure that took about five minutes and cost $100. The issue that had not been resolved with the previous treatments was corrected immediately. After realizing this, I contacted the clinic requesting a refund for the unused portion of my prepaid funds. I was initially told refunds were not possible and that the remaining money could only be used toward additional treatments. Why would I want to continue treatment at a place that I cannot trust? They said I could switch to the laser that worked! why would that not have been suggested at first? They were going to hold my money hostage. I then wrote a formal letter to the clinic owner requesting the return of my unused funds. When I did not receive a response, I followed up by phone and explained that I would be contacting Consumer Protection BC, my credit card provider, and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia to review the situation. Only after that conversation did a supervisor Jessica agree to return the remaining $896 balance. In the end, I still paid $1,000 for treatments that did not resolve the capillaries, plus a few laser hair removal sessions. Total waste of money. My experience felt very sales-driven, not patient care driven. If they would have been honest with me to begin with I could have save 1000 dollars and I would have come back to them in the future. This place is very shady.
