Fried dumplings and veggie lo mein Didn't dine in but from what I have seen it looks nice on the inside. Last time we ordered out here I paid online for the order then had my boyfriend pick it up on his way home. I forgot to tell him I paid for it already and so not knowing that he paid for it too. So I had to take the card used to pay for the order online back to the restaurant 23 minutes away so they can put it back on the card. It was an inconvenience but they took take of it right and politely. read more

Second rate. Had wonton soup. Absolutely horrible. Had to wait 10-15 minutes for the wonton to be made. When I got it no taste what so ever. Tasted like a noodle swimming in hot water. I asked if they make chicken chow mein. Was told yes. What I got was large plate of London noodles in brown sauce with a lot of onions and.very little chicken. Most people in Columbus do not eat here! Last time I ate there was 7 years ago. Hoping.to try it one more time. Was wrong.still just as sorry as it ever was. I just wish the food quality was consistent. You can go one day and the food is amazing, then a few months later the food tastes mediocre at best. We don't eat at Formosa's often but every time we do it's always a gamble on of the food quality will be on point that day or not. read more

Place is hit and miss. Some days its amazing and others I wouldn't give the food to my dog. Also, I have cleanliness concerns when the sauce containers, salt and pepper shakers on the tables are coated with months of crud, That leads me to question the cleanliness of the kitchen. Lastly the employees are on revolving door and frankly dont give a shit. Very poor service read more

We moved here 2 years ago. I honestly had no idea it was here. We went in for lunch today. I had the Volcano Shrimp! So delicious and amazing! The steamed dumplings EXCELLENT! They appeared handmade! Bad ... just bad service .. owner needs to get better staff. Food is good. Owner please fix it

They have had issues for years; employee turnover with staffing issues. Chinese food is average but now they can't take online orders, have no inside seating ( take out only) and absurdly long wait time for food. Claim phone line is broken and can't seem to get it fixed so they have another number to call to order that's posted nowhere. Avoid the frustration and go to Belleville to the Golden Pagoda. Great food and no issues like we have here at Formosa. read more

Everything about my takeout order was great!! Ordered a take out order and it was ready on time. I ordered moo goo gai pan with the sauce on the side and everything was packaged up very neatlu, sauce on the side!! For a couple dollars more I was able to add a soup, egg roll, 2 fried shrimp and crab rangoon. What a steal. Big portions, cheap prices and tasty food. Very delish. This is a hidden gem! The location looks kind of sketchy, behind the old buffet and it almost looks like the check-in desk for the hotel. Inside was clean, my waitress was very friendly and all my food was hot. The wonton soup was good. The shrimp were delicious. I enjoyed both the crab rangoon and eggroll. Unless you're super picky there were no cons. Very enjoyable lunch and I will definitely be returning! read more

Delicious orange chicken. Probably the best I've ever eaten. Nice and crispy. General Tso's is okay. Wasn't a fan of the sweet-and-sour chicken because there's no sauce on it. You have to use the cold sauce on the table. I like the thick, warm sauce. Service depends on the day. Mostly it's OK. They have a hard time keeping help and have to use kids a lot. The atmosphere completely sucks. It's located next to the office of a crappy motel. The egg drop soup and wonton soup is fantastic. hard to choose between three stars and four stars because really, food is most important. However, the atmosphere and possibly the cleanliness makes me drop it to a three. read more

Disgusting. I've eaten some horrible food before, but this was uneatable. The egg roll was rotten on the inside. Everything else was worse.

Ordered chicken with garlic sauce and a side hot & sour soup. The soup was excellent (although they did not provide crunchy noodles with it) and the chicken and garlic sauce was very good. Restaurant is difficult to recognize, because it shares the same brick building with the hotel office. The restaurant door is on the front of the building facing the street. read more

Shit was amazing! Very fast service and good food with good deals. The sesame chicken tasted so good. I never had it taste that way, it wasn't even my plate and I loved it. Beef and broccoli was delicious love the broccoli. The plates were huge and came w rice and I added a soup, 2 fried shrimp, egg roll, and crab Rangoon for $3 more on top of plate price. Food was terrible and service was bad also! It was take out so I did not see what was packaged until it got home. I ordered the large "special" Won Ton soup...It was also all chicken broth and very little of anything else. I also ordered Moo Shu Pork. It was supposed to come with four pancake wrappers but none were given and the pork itself had very little flavor. I asked for a takeout menu to take home. I was told they have none. I have never need to restaurant that offers take out but does not give you a menu to take home. When I questioned why no menu the reply was "That's not my problem!" I used my phone to take pictures of the menu but after this experience, I doubt I will use it. Very poor experience! read more

My hubby and I were hesitant about coming here but decided to give it a try. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly young girl who quickly took us to the table and got our drink order. She quickly returned with our order and took our lunch order. Every question I asked about the menu was answered sufficiently. She showed us where the soup buffet was. We enjoyed our soups very much and by the time we finished the soup she returned with our food. It was delicious and she continued to return to fill our glasses. We are very happy to have tried out this place and we will return again next time we are in the area. The restaurant was clean and had a fresh aroma of food. Lunch prices are great! read more

This was a last minute, unexpected stop. It ended up being a great lunch experience. The triple delight lo mein was delicious! All three meats had great flavor. I also appreciated that there was enough of each meat mixed in with the lo mein. This is the first triple delight plate I have ever ordered that wasn't mostly mushrooms and other vegetables hidden under the lo mein. The egg roll also had a good flavor. The crab meat Rangoon was enclosed in a wonton that was a bit too thick. I also got to try the pepper steak. It was tender and had a great flavor with the fried rice. The staff is very courteous and attentive. Everyone around me seemed to have enjoyed their meals as well. The meal was a good deal for the lunch price. The restaurant is a little hard to spot from the street. The restaurant is attached to the Columbus Inn. For an area that was full of burger places, this location was a great alternative! Fantastic food! I typically eat wonderful authentic Asian food in the Chinatown area of Houston, so was surprised to find really excellent Asian food in small-town Columbus. They have the usual American-Chinese offerings on the menu, but there are many authentic dishes on the menu. I had a very, very, very flavorful beef stew (tendon beef) with wonton dumplings. There's a "soup bar" where you can choose from 4 different soups for your appetizer, and my husband said his orange chicken was the best he had ever eaten. The chicken was beautifully plated too (see photo), and the stew was served in a cast iron bowl that kept it piping hot. The only drawback was that they were short-handed, so the service was slow, but the food was worth the wait. Next time we are in the area I will definitely be back! read more

This little gem popped up on yelp so a few of my colleagues and I decided to try it out for dinner. It is a small brick building behind the Whataburger but inside is plenty of seating. Customer service was great and so was the food, especially the chicken fried rice. The only reason I rate this place 4 stars is due to their limited alcohol selection. They only serve Bud light, Michelob Ultra & Budweiser (no wine, or liquor). read more

The restaurant itself is a bit of a dive. Everything smells like dirty dish water, including the food. As for the food: The egg drop soup was good. The egg roll was okay. The crab rangoon was very good. Steamed rice was soggy. I had the General Tso's chicken, which had a subtle dirt flavor underlying the overpowering soy flavor. The tea also had a strange dirt aftertaste. The service was not particularly friendly, but adequate. I'd say if you're looking for some crab Rangoon to take home, this place is alright ; otherwise, try Tex Mex or something. read more

First off, I love Chinese food. I live in Greater Houston area, with plenty of very good Chinese restaurants. I was working in the Columbus area and finally found this restaurant. I have eaten here 4 days in a row. A different dish each night. I highly recommend this restaurant. Most people go through the trouble of posting a negative comment when things go badly ( in their mind ), but I logged in to post a positive comment. Food is great, prices reasonable, employees polite. If you are in the area, you have to eat here. I wish they were near my house. I placed their number in my phone book for whenever I am driving by.
