For over 50 years I have had to wear a 3/4" lift on one of my shoe due to polio. So I am well familiar of the price range it costs to put this size of lift on my shoe. When they quoted me the price, I wanted to walk out on them but decided against it because I was already there and I am new to Baltimore. They knew how much other shoe repair charged and their argument for adding an additional $50 to the $100 that other places charge was their quality of work was better. No, their quality of work was not better and there is nothing special that they did that justify the 50% mark up. It was equal to other places I have gone to across the US. Their service wasn't better either as I have had quicker and just as good quality of work as they did. Dan Brothers are a rip off! They should provide fair pricing.

I was also told that the pieces I brought weren't a great fit for the store. I had some good labels that I thought matched their vibe--Calvin Klein, Banana Republic, a 100% linen jacket from Kathleen Sommers, an orange suede jacket, etc. Full disclosure: I may have made the mistake of including one or two pieces with a stain or flaw, which could have led to judgment on the rest of my items and made them seem undesirable. To be fair, maybe what I brought truly wasn't a good fit. However, I wasn't given any additional feedback or much sense of appreciation for coming in, so I'm probably just not the kind of seller or customer they're looking for.

They had many great deals on sandals, a lot were $5? The part where you'd have to be pretty dedicated is when you reach the sale area. I have to admit, they keep it pretty neat in the sense that the boxes aren't all open and thrown around, but the styles are just all mixed together so it's like a treasure hunt. You might find your size, but you'll realize it's not the style you were looking for and vice versa.

The answer: here. The clothes here are top-shelf. There is a tailor on call. The employees are also really helpful. Also, I once spilled coffee on my tie, had a big meeting and this was the only place in Mt Vernon where I could run out and buy another one (60 bills!). So why three stars and a half? Because the size selection here is lacking (though this may be because it is a small shop). And because the prices are just so high.
