Absolutely flabbergasted by this place. You need an appointment to try on prom dresses. But? The conveniently have same day appointments. You just have to pay a $25 non-refundable fee. I KNOW my face said it all. There was NO ONE in the store. It's not like it was a busy Saturday during prom season. We went very early in the day and on a week day. Horrible!! Totally careless and fraudulent! I bought a $180 dress for my daughter's formal and kept it there for little repair. She gave me a pickup date three weeks later. Meantime, I thought to check couple of times if the dress is ready or not? Every time, I go there she said its not ready and you will receive a text on the same date of pickup. On the pickup date when I went there, she said its not ready and you have to come back 7pm before store close. Since it's too late, I decide to leave and thought to come back and pickup tomorrow. Next morning when I called to find out if the dress is ready for pickup? Guess what she answered, she said you already picked up the dress. I'm totally shocked, she was so reluctant to listen and blaming me that I'm fraud and trying to pickup again, seriously??? I been coming to check and you're telling me it's not ready until last day, suddenly next morning you're telling that I picked up????? She wasn't agreed that she lost the dress, we called police and try to resolve our end. Store owners promise me to response in 5 days with history. I have gotten a quinceañera dress, prom dress and 2 homecoming dresses from this store. I went in here today and the woman was so rude, we couldn't even make an appointment without her throwing insults at us. She told us that we had to pay a non refundable $100 to try on certain dresses, which we were never required to do for the past 5+ times going there. She began insulting my mom and interrogating my 15 year old sister. She made a fuss about my younger sister's friend being in the store without a parent even though my mother was chaperoning. I am extremely disappointed with how the staff member treated me and my family and we won't be coming back, even though it used to be my favorite dress store. I recently purchased a purse here as a gift for someone who really didn't like it. I returned to the store with the purse and receipt in hand, and asked the woman working the register if I could return it. Before I even finished my sentence, she snapped "for another purse. Another purse only." I agreed and pointed to one that I like for myself. The woman then proceeded to correct me on the color (I said white. She said silver). When I asked how to open the purse, she rolled her eyes at me. Then, when I asked to see another one, she corrected me on the color again in a nasty tone. When I had selected one she again snapped that "will only do this once!" and then proceeded to complain about processing the return as she did it. If she had just told me that they normally don't do returns on purses at the beginning of the exchange, I'd have thanked her and cut my losses, and this review might be a little different. I am so upset with this store! I bought a dress back in February for $500! Paid it up front and they promised me that my dress would be ready for date of use May 16th 2020. It is now, June 21st, and I had to call on Friday again just to see if my dress was even there. I spoke to a lady and she said that my dress is there. I asked her to look when it was received, she said that there is nothing there that tells her when my dress got to their store. I have called over 30 times at this place and I have not been able to get a hold of the manager! I was promised today that she would be there on Friday! I called she's not there. I spoke to a lady Reagan she told me possibly she could be here tomorrow but she knows definitely Wednesday. They have made this process so aggravating, all I want is to speak to the manager and I want my money back! I was not able to wear my dress for the day of May 16th. I had to purchase another dress last minute. They have never called me to inform me that my dress was at their store, Never called to offer a resolution or anything!!! Just took my $500 like it was nothing!!! Since I could not have my dress for the date of May and never inform me that my dress was delivered even after I called several times and no one has ever told me that my dress was there. I have no need for this $500 formal gown. It should not have to be this hard to return a call! The only thing that you can do now is just refund me my money! Im so upset that I was treated this way!! I went dress shopping here with a friend of mine for her prom. I was gonna help her pick a dress and I thought it would be fun... Boy was I wrong! Because I'm a male apparently I'm not allowed to go past this imaginary line one foot into the room where you see the dress on. The girl that worked here told me I'm not allowed past that point. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO GIVE MY OPINION IF I'M BASICALLY NOT ALLOWED IN THE ROOM. Keep in mind, I'm not taking about the fitting room which I completely understand not being allowed in or near. I came here with my friend one evening to look for a dress to wear for prom as we walked in the store one of the workers gave us a dirty look I don't know her name but she was old and had blonde hair. We ignored her and proceeded to look around. At the time it was only a mom and her daughter in the store as well. The lady was helping them first which is fine no problem she was smiling and laughing with them pin point to the fact they were all white. My friend and I are Hispanic but anyways my friend had found a dress and she wanted to try on the dress so we called the lady over and asked if she could try on the dress and the lady gives my friend an attitude and says "you can only try it on if you are going to buy it." My younger sister and I drove an hour from Philly and spent $470 on a prom dress to get treated poorly by XO employees and to get treated extremely poorly by the store manager named Betty. Save yourself the misery I went through in XO and take your money elsewhere. 1. The store is cramped with a lot of tacky dresses (i.e. 80s prom dresses bedazzled with gems & beads to make it look a little better). You can find something nice but you have to really look for it yourself. XO employees will not help you. Also, it was uncomfortably hot when I was there. 2. The women that worked here seem overwhelmed when I asked them for help. They have not a clue on fashion and you can tell by the way they're dressed- frumpy. The way an employee look should represent the store and I'm not asking for them to walk around in a gown, but some of them looked unkempt, even the manager (i.e. Outdated clothes that I wouldn't allow my mom to walk out the house with, just overall sloppy). 3. It's a no refund policy here so be very careful with your purchase. Take a good look at your receipt before walking out because an employee stuck the wrong tag on my little sister's dress ($350) and I had to pay the actual cost of the dress ($375), but they didn't tell me that. I noticed when I got home. Of course, when I went home and told them about their mistake they said I was wrong. To save their own butt, they ripped off the tag I saw and stuck the right one on the dress. 4. When you send your little sister or daughter here to pick up her gown, she will get treated badly if you're not around. The store just give bad service in general but my final straw was when the manager told my little sister that "If your mom is unhappy with the dress she needs to fix it herself". That boggles me because not only did i spend $375 on her dress, I also paid $75 for them to fix/hem the gown. They should make sure customers are 110% satisfied because of their no refund policy. My sister was then handed the dress on a hanger with a thin plastic bag over it. After seeing everyone walk out with a garment bag, she asked Betty for a garment bag and her reply was "You have to spend a certain amount on a dress to get a garment bag. If you want one, you can purchase it for $10". Meanwhile XO just made an extra $430 from her best friend who she took with her that received a proper bag. Before they got my money, they were guaranteeing 100% satisfaction and that the dress would be ready, steamed, in a garment bag and once they had my money all the good services they promised went out the door. I never had to actually go in a store to complain in my life about any employee but this was just outrageous and unacceptable. When I asked Betty why she treated my sister this way after I spent $470 in that store she denied everything. She told me that garment bags are for customers spending $500 and that at XO "You get good service or a discount. You don't get both." (She was referring to my $40 refund because they screwed up on a price tag.) On top of this when I was speaking to her about her rude behavior to my sister she was opening mail, interrupting me by asking what nail polish I was wearing, and asking a co-worker for a coke and two aspirins. I wish the store owner was there to see how the manager is ruining her business. If you want to waste time and money for bad service and rude behavior go for it. I learned my lesson. Next time, I will gladly take my money to Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, Cache, or even little mom and pop shops where the employees look decent and will be gladly on hands and knees to help you out because they appreciate you as a customer. Would never shop in this store again! Absolutely no customer service, I purchased a dress & literally walked out the store to find out that the same dress was being worn by another girl at the dance. It was a matter of 10 minutes that I returned asking for a refund, not an hour later, not the next day. I was shocked that they wouldn't refund me, it's store policy that they don't give refunds but it was literally 10 minutes. What type of customer service is that???? I wanted to update my review after my fitting. I will say the entire time, staff was nothing but polite, helpful, and nice as opposed to many of the other reviews I have read. It seemed pretty busy when I went for my fitting and when my fitting was completed, but staff still seemed extremely nice and helpful. Downside: although they did a great job on my alterations, it was EXTREMELY over priced which I was not expecting. Close to what I had paid to get my wedding gown altered which was a $1200 dress. Now this was only a $200 bridesmaid dress and I was shocked how expensive the alteration was. I was expecting it to cost close to half of what it did so that left me extremely dissapointed and wishing I went to my normal lady who charges 1/4 what XO charged. I was also not happy they only do alterations once a week. I called in for an appt when I was advised to, but the weather was bad and it was too close to the wedding to change the date. I think it would be wise to add an additional day for alterations esp when weather can play a huge factor or perhaps advise ppl to call earlier than 2-3 weeks before an event. read more

I created a Yelp just so I could post my thoughts about this store I came in looking for prom dresses I had seen on the Internet. I guess they did not take me serious since I was not with a guardian or parent but I am 18 and can technically live on my own. The only time I would bring a parent to the shop is to show them the dress I am going to buy instead of having them sit there for approximately two hours while I try on dresses. Whoever was working the dressing rooms allowed me try on two dresses only and then basically kicked me out of my room afterwards. My game plan was to try on the dress styles I liked and see which colors flatter me the most and then look on the internet again at a potential prom dress I could order. After my encounter with the worker, I do not want to purchase my dress from Formals XO and I feel uncomfortable going back. I also came into the store earlier that week asking about a dress and she said she couldn't find the dress without the dress number even though I showed her a picture of the dress and the brand. I found the dress no problem in Google search shortly after she said that. It is her job to look up this type of information and somehow I ended up dictating the dress number to her from my smartphone. I'm sure the workers are nice when the store isn't crowded but they should at least be a bit more accommodating and polite to potential buyers. read more

Can't say much about this place except that it sucks! About three months ago I walked in with my husband and son because I needed a ball gown for the Marine Corps Ball. I was excited to see so many gowns considering the lack of dress stores in the area. I was browsing through some gowns when some dowdy looking lady in sweats approached me with messed up hair. Instead of politely asking me if I needed any help, she took one look at my stroller and told me not to run over any gowns with the wheels. Rude much? Well needless to say I turned around and walked out. No way is my hard earned money going towards some trashy looking lady with a snooty attitude. All the employees were pleasant and most helpful to find and order the right dress. However, the seamstress we had ruined a $600 gown. My daughter was in tears because the beautiful gown was way too big. She had to hold it up unless she was sitting. I paid $180 and then $20 for alterations! I swear they dig nothing after the 2nd fitting. They never even called to say it was ready. When WE called a few days before the prom we were told, wait we'll go look for it.. Today, I came here with my friend to buy a dress for her Quinceñera and i pulled five dresses for her to try on and the only worker in the store comes over and tells us that five is too many dresses because she was the only worker for the day and she didn't want to overwhelm herself with the simple act of putting away five dresses. no one else was in the store (now i know why) and she still seemed like she couldn't handle herself. THE FIRST THING I WANT TO SAY IS, SAVE YOURSELF A BAD EXPERIENCE AND DON'T SHOP HERE. BETTY, THE STORE MANAGER, IS THE RUDEST PERSON I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED IN A STORE, AND WHEN I COMPLAINED LATER TO HER AND THE OTHER "MANAGER", SHE DESCRIBED HERSELF TO ME AS THE BIG HONCHO IN THE STORE... SELF DESCRIBED, I KID YOU NOT. I have never had an experience in a store as bad as the one I had here... and it's not like they carry such beautiful things, or exclusive things that you couldn't get elsewhere. I don't even want to give them one star if I can avoid it. My daughter went into the King of Prussia store yesterday to see if among all the stuff they carry, she and her friend could find some choices for prom. My daughter is almost 18 and her friend is 18. Once they picked what they wanted to try on, they went into the dressing room and proceeded to try on the dresses, helping each other to zip up, etc. I was not there, as I told them to just go ahead and that if they found something they liked, I would join them. I want to preface by saying that my daughter and her friend are very good kids, dressed appropriately and respectfully behaved everywhere. My daughter is attending an ivy league university this fall and so is her friend (not that that makes them better than anyone else, just to emphasize that they are serious, studious girls). Once they where in the dressing room, BETTY started coming in unannounced, opening the curtain to the dressing room while the girls where changing, and screaming at them for no apparent reason. I think maybe this woman has some kind of psychological disorder, or is simply a BULLY who seems to want to take out her frustrations on innocent girls. My daughter respectfully asked her to please close the curtain as she and her friend where halfway naked and Betty was exposing them to the rest of the people in line and around the dressing room area. She proceeded to ignore them and kept coming in to "help them" unannounced again. Again the girls asked her to please let them get changed in privacy and the piggish woman had the audacity to barge in with the curtain left open, my daughter in her panties and no bra, and began to physically and literally assault her, trying to pull a dress that she was removing out from under her. Needless to say, the girls came out of the store running once Betty was out of the dressing room, crying and humiliated by the treatment they received. As they walked out, and because this woman is an older lady and very intimidating to two young girls, she screamed at them that she was going to call mall security on them. They knew they hand't done anything wrong, but where terrified of this Betty. Once out, my daughter frantically called me and connected with me at the mall. She and her friend where shaken and upset, felt violated, bullied and harassed by this older woman, who had no business acting this way. There was no behavior going on in the dressing room that would merit her doing what she did. My husband and I were outraged when they told us the story, and we proceeded to go into the store and find out what was going on there. When we arrived, the girl at the register told us that she was the manager, and proceeded to take us to Betty who was in the dressing area. We thought we would find an apologetic person, sorry for having acted that way with the girls. Instead, we found exactly what the girls described and worst. She was disrespectfully screaming at my husband and me, trying to justify her behavior with our daughter by saying that their rule is not to allow girls alone in the dressing area. If that is their rule, then why did she allow them in the first place? WEll, she didn't have an answer for that, just kept on saying that she's the big boss there, on some kind of ego trip. She didn't have an answer for threatening to call mall police, as I knew she wouldn't since there was no behavior to warrant that. I warned her that we would tell the proper authorities about the incident and she laughed it off-- the only reason I don't want to call the police on her for assault (I'm a lawyer and I know we could get her in trouble for this behavior and stop her from doing it to other young girls), is because we don't' want to expose our daughter to police, and possible testifying... it's just not worth it. But if anyone else is outraged about this, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, SHOW THIS BETTY AND WHOEVER OWNS THIS STORE THAT THEY CANNOT GET AWAY WITH HARASSING YOUNG GIRLS AND DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING IN THAT STORE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER PLACES TAHT CARRY LOVELY GOWNS, LIKE MACYS, BLOOMINGDALES AND OTHERS, PRICED REASONABLY, AND EVEN NICER WITH EASIER RETURN POLICIES AND POLITE EMPLOYEES. Went in to find a dress among their not so great selection, and when I asked the woman if they had a specific dress, she yelled at me for wasting her time. My friend described the staff as "bearable" sometimes, and others have warned me to never go back due to their horrible customer service. My sister and my mom came here a week ago to try on dresses for a wedding and my sister's prom which is in May. My sister tried on a Sherri Hill two piece that she loved but wanted it in a bigger size, the sales associate, "Debbie," said she couldn't order her size because it would not get here in time. My sister has a whole month to wait; but fine, wouldn't get here? Then we will settle with the smaller size. My mother ended up purchasing three dresses, they added up to over a grand. My mother asked to get a better price because she was ready to leave with three dresses, "Debbie" started to barter with her and said she can take the TAX off, if my mother brought her hard cash. Excuse me? Who has over a grand on hand?! My mother said no, if that's the best you can do, I'll buy the dresses online. Debbie insisted those dresses were NOT in stock. One of them was ripped, Debbie did not seem to care. My mother called the next day and they settled on a price. This is where it gets infuriating, my sister tried on the dress for me at home, and her Sherri Hill, two piece dress, did not clasp in the back. The $700 dress DID NOT fit. I forced her to call and ask to get an exchange, the woman on the line said NO. So, from what I gathered, she said she can lose the weight before prom. Well, from my perspective, if she had clicked a few keys and looked up that dress, and wasn't worried about the profit she would be losing, this fiasco could have been avoided and my sister would have had a bigger dress. What kind of business are you running that you force a growing teen into a dress she does not fit and force her to rethink her diet?! I was furious. I called her back and spoke to Sue this time. She said we can come in for an exchange. We went in the next morning and my sister found another Sherri Hill, a bigger size for $600. And the $100 difference will not be paid back. This is ridiculous. At this point my mom is angry, flat out blood boiling upset. They basically bartered with us, lowered my sister's self esteem, and ruined this experience in a whole new level. When we were ready to leave with the dress, we were told someone else had already purchased the new one we picked out for the exchange. Why do you have it hanging on the rack then?! DO NOT SHOP HERE! I took my younger sister here to shop for her senior prom dress in January 2013. We were shopping early and shopping around at different stores to find a dress that she was in love with. It was a Saturday afternoon at the Formals XO Oxford Valley location. We were waiting in line with about 5 dresses. We had been waiting for about 15 minutes,and were the next ones in line, when an employee came out of the dressing room and barked, "girls, we're really only taking people who are serious about purschasing dresses today. If you're here to try on a dress just to feel like a princess, we don't really have time for that." Uhhhhhh...excuse me???? "Did that really just happen?" I asked my sister, and the family behind me in line. Prom is soley to feel like a princess. If I wanted to buy a dress without her trying it on, I wouldhave bought it online. You work at a prom dress store, alllll you do is prom dresses, so what are you trying to do with your time other than let girls try on dresses to see which on they feel like a princess in??? Ok, I decided to shrug it off, telling my sister it's not like this miserable woman would be at her prom, let's just see if you like any of these dresses. She fell in love with the last dress she tried on. We took the $600 dress to the register, all the while thinking to myself, "is this serious enough for you lady?" The same miserable woman (I found out her name was Betty) was at the register. She rang me up, and I already had my credit card and ID out of my wallet, in my hand. She takes my card, and says in the most demeaning way possible, and I quote, "This is your mom's card right?" I said, "Uh, no, this is my card." She replied," Oh, well what do you do?" I am 23 years old and my sister lives with me; I take care of her. I have 2 jobs, and I work extremely hard for my money. I have never in my life been judges and belittled, and questioned like that, by anyone. How does she know our mom didn't die in a car accident a week ago? How does she know that our mom isn't dying of an illness and on her death bed as we speak. These were just such ignorant comments and I could not believe my ears. Then, to question how I make my money? I was in complete shock. All this woman has to do is be nice to people who come in her store, looking to spend money and she can't even do that. Saying absolutely nothing would have honestly been one hundred times better. But she seemed to go out of her way to be rude and ignorant. Instead of making a scene right then and there in the crowded store, I decided to leave, calm down, and address the issue when I returned to pick up the dress since they had to order a smaller size. I returned today, February 28 to pick up the dress and address my exerience wih this rude woman named Betty. I took my best friend with me as a witness, just in case. We walked in and Betty herself was behind the register. I said hello an asked to speak to a manager. She said that she was the manager. Ok, well that came as a surprise. I asked her who her superior was. She said no one. I also found that hard to believe. I asked her if she was the owner. She replied that she was "the big bboss; that she was 'up there.' " She asked why. I told her about my experience with HER the last time I was in the store. Instead of bing apologetic, she tried explaining to me that the reason she said those things were because, and I quote, " You should see some of the people that we deal with, they try on dresses, step on them with their dirty feet, break zippers, and don't care. There's no changing them" I wasn't trying to understand. She works in retail, shit like that happens. I explained to her that by barking the way she did, she wasn't going to stop irresponsible children from trying on dresses, that was still going to happen regardless, all she did was offend people like me, who were actually were there to buy a prom dress, contrary to her belief. When I addressed the fact that she continued to be demeaning towards me at the register, with her " mom's card" coment, and that there was a simpler, nicer way to go about it, maybe just asking m to see ID with my credit card, she again tried to explain why she said that. Her measly "I'm sorry" wasn't heartfelt and she didn't mean it. I told her not only would I never be back at her store, but I would tell everyone in the market for a prom dress NOT to shop there because of the extremely rude customer service. I've never complained about service before, even if it was horrible, but this was just absolutely ridiculous. I've heard about this "mysterious rude woman at XO" before, and as soon as she started barking comments from the dressing room, I knew it had to be her. I will be contacting corporate, because there IS someone above her and they WILL hear about this woman. It's a disgrace to have her working at what should be a pleasant store. Something needs to be done. It's ashame becasue the dresses are nice. read more

Walked in to schedule alterations for my prom dress, and I needed it let out a bit. I go to talk to the woman standing at the counter, and after I say "yeah I put on a few pounds so I want to let it out a little." she has the audacity to say to me "oh you'll be fine, drink a lot of water and walk a lot. oh, and if I were you honey, I would stop eating completely. you don't need any more." to an 18 year old girl's face, after she says how she already isn't feeling to great about her body. thank you for telling me i'm too fat & need to stop eating :) read more

We just purchased my daughters senior prom dress at formals xo in Oxford Valley Mall, we went back again this year because we had such a great experience last year. The staff there is fabulous and super helpful, they pulled many dresses for my daughter to try on because she was unsure of what style she wanted. Andy once again picked the perfect dress for her. We have told all of our friends to go to this store as well. The store owner has been in the shop every time I have been there and she couldn't be more helpful. They have just about every dress and if they don't have it they will order it for you. I could not be happier with my experience there both years. read more

If you avoid these reviews and still buy your dress at XO you are making a huge mistake. I ordered a 600$ dress from here and when it finally came in (extremely late may I add) it was two sizes too big and they said I still had to pay for the alterations when they ordered the wrong size? I was not having that, after some conversing they said they would alter my dress to the exact size that I ordered but the rest of the alterations I would have to pay for. How cheap can you be? You already ordered me the wrong size dress and now you will only alter it to a size 00 for free but the rest I have to pay for? Not to mention all the other girls picking up their dresses also had the wrong size dress. Lets put two and two together here.. THEY ORDER LARGER SIZES SO YOU HAVE TO PAY EXTRA FOR ALTERATIONS. When all was said and done the manager Betty tried convincing me that Jasz couture doesn't even make a size 00. THEN WHY DID YOU TELL ME THEY DID AND ORDER THAT SIZE?! (also I called Jasz Couture personally and they DO make a size 00) I just dont understand that at all. At this point I just wanted to leave.. The rude manager gave me 30$ toward my 150$ alterations.. Gee thanks. Don't even walk into this store.. you'll find a dress you love but the issues you have getting your dress isnt even worth it. My senior prom is in 15 days.. my dress is still being altered and its all because of XO. But did they care at all? Nope. Advise everyone you know to never buy a dress from here.. they shouldn't even be in business. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Rude and unhelpful employees. I went last Monday to purchase a dress for a formal wedding I was attending on Friday. Betty (the manager) helped me find and purchase the dress and promised It would be done on time. I went to pick up my dress Thursday, the dress was ENTIRELY too small! The women who took my measurements was not the same lady who altered my dress. Nothing was done right! Then the women who did my alterations said she cut the fabric completely out and there was no way to make it bigger! Then she proceeded to tell me this is exactly how it was marked for her. Then Chrissy sales women ask me if I gained weight in the last TWO days, and that, that had to be the reason the dress did not fit! Long story short I left with the dress somewhat okay (not that I had a choice the wedding was the next day) I was refunded for my alterations. I go to put the dress on Friday for the wedding and I find that they cut 6inches from the back of my dress to make up for the fabric that she cut from under the arm. Which made the dress way to short(you could see my ankles from the back). The women who altered my dress was Margarita. Still fighting with the manager Betty about replacing my dress since it is now unwearable. This was a 500$ dress that they screwed up. Will never shop here AGAIN! I was better off taking my dress to a cleaners for alterations. read more

The review above sounds exactly like this lady Betty, who I also have encountered at XO Langhorne more than once. She speaks just like that and sounds like she was quoted word for word. Someone at a competing store who carries the same dress lines says she is the owner of the XO chain. That would make sense, since no one who talks to people like that would last 5 minutes if they weren't the owner. After buying a couple dresses there in past years (2 daughters), last year Betty ripped me off when my daughter was looking for a dress in a certain color. She found a thin, unlined jersey dress with a little beading, but no tag. The dress was hanging on the clearance rack. Betty insisted on a price of $275 plus tax for this very simple dress. Other more complex dresses of the same manufacturer which had linings, underskirts, etc, were priced less than the price she gave me. There were no extra beads for this dress and it had a pull in the fabric. Of course it looked great on my daughter. This would have been a lower-priced dress but I was viewed as a trapped and there was no budging although it was July in the off-season. Betty is an unpleasant person. I don't think I've ever seen the woman smile in the times I've been in the store. She acts as if that store is the only gown store on the planet. This year I was determined not to buy a dress from her. Try Park Avenue South in Toms River NJ. We went there yesterday and were treated nicely and left very happy. Also we purchased from The Perfect Dress in Lawrenceville NJ in the past and would go again. We also purchased a Cache dress in the past and they were very helpful as I recall. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. I've been here 2 times, once for my junior prom and then today when I was looking for my senior prom dress. First time I was there, of course there was absolutely no help, and when me and my mom asked if they had a size in a dress I found all the lady had to say was 'no sorry we don't have that size' and that's it. Also there was a girl next to me asking for a size and she started going on about how one of the girls trying on a dress was a size 2 and made me feel really uncomfortable like she was trying to rub it in that I'm a 12 and she's a 2, and just kept going on about the girl being a smaller size. After that I just left and promised to never return. Me and my friends decided just to go today and just try on. We walk in and do not even get greeted or anything, we were there for a half hour and not once got asked if we needed help, the only question was what school we were from and then the woman just walked away basically. There was 3 or 4 women working and only one girl in the store and she was done trying on and was buying the dress. The workers were just walking around fixing the dresses, didn't even ask us anything. You work at a prom shop, you're suppose to ask questions like 'what kind of dress are you looking for' 'what size are you looking to get' and just make them feel comfortable. And then you should go and pull some dresses for them, because its hard to look at unorganized dresses and find your size and you cant even tell what the dresses look like. But if that's all so hard the least they could do is greet you when you walk in! This happened on January 12, 2014 around 5:00 pm. This store has terrible customer service. I had gotten my gown alterations done there and every time I called with a question about my dress, I was treated very rudely and they acted as if they didn't want to be bothered. I never complain about anything and I'm usually very easy to please, but I felt very strongly about how I was talked to and how I was treated by the staff so I went and put in a complaint through their Facebook page. A few weeks later I receive a phone call from their seamstress asking me to take the review down because she had gotten in trouble at work. Since I hadn't picked up my dress at this point yet, I agreed to take it down. The next day when I went into the store to pick up my dress, the manager was extremely rude and called me out on the issue and questioned me about it and when I had tried explaining to her why I was unhappy , she tried looking up my comment on Facebook right In front of everyone and publicly humiliated me and made me feel like I didn't have a right to be upset or dissatisfied. On top of all that, they said my dress wasn't ready yet, even though the lady I spoke to on the phone told me it was and that I could come in any time. I feel like as a customer you should be allowed to voice your opinion if you're not satisfied and have it be kept confidential, the way they made me feel is though I did something wrong , when they were the ones not doing their job and they were arguing with me every step of the way. I will never go back to this store ever again, nor will I recommend it to anyone. I thought it was very unprofessional that the lady had asked me to take my review down instead of apologizing for the bad customer service and trying to please me, and second of all it was even more unprofessional when I went in there to simply pick up my dress and the lady at the front desk put me on blast about it, which I am pretty sure they're not allowed to do. I have had some experience working in customer service and The first thing they tell you is the customer is always right. I only wish I would have read these reviews before I paid for a dress at XO Formals. I live over an hour away and drove to King of Prussia to get a homecoming dress. Poor customer service is being kind. I paid for the dress and it was ordered on Saturday, a week prior to my event. I was assured it would be in on Wednesday. I had made arrangements with a tailor (locally) to make alterations Wednesday evening. The dress was not there as promised. The store manager, Amanda, did nothing to help and actually laughed at my dilemma which they had created. The "regional manager" Betty was worse. All she would do was blame the supplier. She did nothing to take responsibility or rectify the fact that the dress did not come in and now would not be altered in time for my event. After a supposed 30 years in the business one would think they would have a plan to handle this kind of situation. Bottom line - They will tell you whatever is necessary to make the sale and once they have your money they do not follow through or care about the customer. Ladies, there are plenty of reputable shops out there willing to take your money. PASS ON XO FORMALS - NOT WORTH YOUR TIME OR ENERGY! read more
