Only disappointing thing was I did not get to meet Chef Alyssa and thank her for the great experience. We did the chopped challenge and it was so fun. I'd heard good things about their cooking classes and catering, so got curious about whether they offer smaller à la carte options. Lucky me, they do! Apparently they have been at this location 14yrs but the school has been around for over 40yrs. Thank God for the power of social media because I saw an ad on my Facebook feed abt their daily lunches. When I plugged in the address I was pleasantly surprised that my job is only 5min from there. I stepped inside and just absolutely loved the whole warmth of the environment. It felt so welcoming. The front manager Charlotte is absolutely amazing. So sweet, personable and engaging. I ordered the jambalaya bowl special and it was delish. Also got an apple cheese danish for a dessert along with a sweet tea to drink. Everything was great, and so glad that this place is now on my radar. Will definitely be going back again and again.

I attended the sushi class and it surpassed my expectations. I would have never thought that I…read morecould make sushi or have fun cooking! The instructor, Sheera, is very knowledgeable, organized, professional & most importantly, patient. I learned many useful things in the class. We made 2 types of sushi rolls and still had enough to take home. Sheera even gave each member of the class ingredients (rice, nori & shrimp) to get started at home. I certainly appreciate the small class size (5-6) because it allows for more individualized attention for those, like myself, who may need a little extra guidance ;-) During dinner the group felt very casual and acquainted although I had only just met everyone. I felt so inspired after the class that I am planning to prepare my own sushi diner party in the near future. I certainly would recommend this class & will attend again!

My wife and I spent an early birthday celebration at The Foodie School for their sushi-making class, and somewhere between the sticky rice, sharp knives, and the quiet panic of trying not to destroy a roll in front of strangers, we had an unforgettable night. The evening wasn't some stiff cooking demonstration where you nod politely while a chef talks at you for two hours. This was hands-on, messy in the best way, and surprisingly intimate. We made an appetizer that looked like something from a downtown izakaya, rolled two different styles of sushi, and finished with matcha ice cream that tasted clean, earthy, and just indulgent enough to make you pause for a second before the next bite. Chefs Mara & Elon struck that rare balance between knowledgeable and approachable. No ego. No culinary theater. Just people who genuinely love food and want you to love making it too. And that's really what made the night work. Food wasn't treated like content for Instagram. It was treated the way it should be: as a shared experience. A little chaotic, a little imperfect, and far more satisfying because you made it yourself. If you're looking for a different kind of date night in Rock Hill -- one where you leave full, slightly proud of yourself, and smelling faintly of soy sauce and sesame oil -- this is the place.

They give you everything ingredients wise pre-measured and they include a video for the class. I added on baking sheets because our home ones were ancient. They suggest using silicone mats and a stand mixer. I am a beginner with macarons but I have some casual experience with baking. I loved the format and the steps in the how-to video from the chef. I enjoyed the video class and watched it multiple times. That said I do wish the video had included more how to advice on piping the macarons. That was where I struggled in the class. The pluses are the ingredients are all included--including buttercream and ganache--and the steps are organized well. And the macarons' dough was delicious! Even if my macarons look crazy, they taste phenomenal!! They suggest using the ingredients that week or freeze for up to 3 months. My hubs did the pickup that you can schedule when you pay online.
