Truffle Fries
Leslie K.

The service at the bar is abysmal. We had to flag down a bartender to order food. The woman behind the bar purposefully ignored us. I ordered an Apple Salad. I was brought every salad on the menu EXCEPT the Apple Salad. I normally do not give one star reviews. This restaurant is horrid. I did get my Truffle fries.

FORGE PEPPERONI PIZZA

I placed an order online which was really convenient especially after a long day of travel. When I showed up to pick up the pizza my son changed his mind and wanted to eat there and the server was super nice about it. Great pizza that wasn't too greasy.

My wife and I came here after a long day of exploring we decided on Forge pizza here in Napa, California. The curb appeal was nice and clean and you enter in through two big doors. They have outside dining For you or the whole family you can dine at perfect for nice days. The inside has a bar you can sit at and tables spread out for plenty of places to get comfortable. Plenty of options of food to choose from such as salads, sandwiches, pizza, and entrees. My wife and I ordered a Forge cheeseburger with fries and a roasted beef salad. The waiter was kind nice and placed our order with no mistakes. Everything came pretty quick, hot and tasty. The cheeseburger was cooked, medium and I was thinking to myself, I should have ordered that for myself but after eating fries and salad it was perfect amount. I shall be back.

Prosciutto & burrata

This is one of my favorite go-to wood fired pizza place in Napa! Best time is all day happy hour on Mondays for the pizzas! Great deal for good size pies! Pizzas: My favorite ones to order is the margarita (kids love this one too!) and the forge pepperoni with just enough heat! Soo yummy! Tried something new with the prosciutto & Barrata (eh, I'll pass next time) Apps: cheese curds (kids must have!) & brussel sprouts (the truffle flavor.. Omg delicious!) & truffle fries are MUST order every single time! It's a big spacious place and has a nice outdoor seating with corn hole and fire pits that is great for evening vibes. Service has sometimes been a hit or miss depending on how busy they are but overall it isn't bad and I usually recommend reservations online!

Caesar salad add chicken and Old Fashioned

Jazmin was great! Vibe was great! Food was delish with the exception of the add on grilled chicken. Just didn't taste right.

Mussels ooo good!

Still 5 stars! They have a new chef too. Started with Nachos Nachos--- super good + I was hungry and we finished it. We had their specials -Spaghetti and Meatballs -Tortilla crusted Salmon with puréed vegetables, and fingerling potatoes These were also amazing! Of course, we had "drinks" too Service is always friendly, professional, and casual. Nice lively crowd and family friendly ---and dog friendly outside.

BUFFALO WINGS
Christina L.

The space is great, offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Ordered a buffalo wings ($14) and pepperoni pizza ($22). The buffalo wings lack seasoning, the meat skin was coated with buffalo sauce, but the meat was bland. Pizza was good, thin crust, could use more sauce. Good size pizza and definitely can have two meals. Not too busy for weekend lunch, but the service was slightly slow. Asked for refill as my table was eating, but did not refill until we got our check.

MEDITERRANEAN PIZZAMediterranean
Teresa B.

I just ordered a Mediterranean pizza through Grubhub and I can honestly say this is one of those rare instances in which the actual product is way better than the photo. It came with plenty of artichokes, olives and sun-dried tomatoes. The garlic sauce was very tasty and not overwhelming. I would definitely order this again.

WATERMELON SALAD
Giselle S.

The 3-star reviews don't do this place justice! I'm glad we came here anyway because the food was delicious!!! There were 4 of us and we ordered an appetizer, salad and 2 pizzas to share -- it was perfect for us! The Watermelon Salad was so fresh and tasty, it's the perfect salad for a hot summer day. The Street Corn had a nice kick to it but it wasn't what I expected, the photos on yelp made it look like it was off the cob. Our main dishes were the pizzas, the mushroom and carnivore were both tasty but the carnivore was by far my favorite! I also ordered a cocktail, the Oaxacan Bounce, it sounded quite interesting on the menu (mezcal, vanilla marshmallow syrup, cherry liqueur, lemon juice, cocchi americano, Prosecco, orange bitters) it was refreshing and tasty, for those that like mezcal. Service was quick & friendly & the restaurant was clean and inviting, I will definitely be returning!

Crispy CHICKEN SANDWICH
Corinne D.

Checked out this place while shopping in Napa. Chill vibe. Food is good and there is plenty of different dishes to choose from on the menu. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive to the table. I would recommend to stop in for some fresh, made in front of house, pizza!

Cheese Bombs
Jocelyn L.

This place is awesome! I ordered cheese bombs for my appetizer and if you love cheese and aren't lactose intolerant, you NEED to order these! So good! My mushroom pizza was good, but my sister ordered the fat boy which tasted a lot better. Also, the service was fast despite being very busy.

For a change from wine after a day in Napa, try beer! AND they had deep dish pizza! It paired so perfectly with the beers and honestly made it so we could handle all the beer better lol. The dining area is outside, but there was a nice breeze and coverings over the seating area that provided some shade, so it ended up being a really peaceful and relaxing retreat from the hubbub of downtown Napa. I really liked the atmosphere, and it wasn't too crowded when we went either! It's also in the same complex as Oxbow Public Market, so this is a fantastic way to get a comfortable seat, enjoy some food and drinks, and then explore all the goodies that the Market has to offer. Definitely a fun alternative to the usual Napa wine day!

There was little attention given to cleaning the tables even when the turnover wasn't that fast. Multiple groups arrived at tables that had not been cleaned. You order yourself from the QR code on the table, so for many this is convenient. The food took forever to arrive, and when it did, nothing tasted good unfortunately. The chicken on the pizza tasted bad, and the wings and fries were average at best. They do have a good beer selection. I would go back only if I want to get beer and maybe simple bar food with a group.

Went here for burgers from Butters Burgers and beer and enjoyed all of it!…read more The area to order food was separate than the beer and I got the food, and my partner ordered the beer. There was plenty of places to sit inside and lots of open air as well as outdoor seating in a parklet and along the side of the building. We tried the tacos and tostadas, and everything was absolutely delicious. The margarita was fantastic, and the homemade sparkling wine was such a unique and memorable touch. A special shoutout to Vanessa, who truly went above and beyond. She took the time to share the history of the restaurant and the owners' background, which made the experience feel so personal and meaningful. When she found out we were in Napa celebrating our 10-year anniversary, she offered us their homemade sparkling wine, and it was such a thoughtful gesture that we'll never forget. You can tell there is so much heart, history, and passion behind this restaurant. La Cheva is the kind of place that makes you feel welcomed, appreciated, and excited to come back. We can't recommend it enough, and if you're lucky enough to encounter Vanessa, you're in for an extra-special experience. We will absolutely be back!

Bay Area and had heard plenty of positive reviews, so we were genuinely excited to finally try it. One thoughtful touch is that La Cheve provides umbrellas for guests waiting in line, which is especially appreciated when you're standing outside under the sun. It's a small gesture, but one that shows the restaurant has put some thought into making the waiting experience a little more comfortable. They also offer the option to order coffee through a QR code while waiting in line. I ordered a large black coffee, while my partner ordered a café con leche. Unfortunately, it took about 25 minutes for the drinks to be ready. When we picked them up, the café con leche was served in the same large cup as my coffee--but it was only half full, with roughly a quarter cup of coffee and another quarter consisting of foam. It felt odd drinking from a large half-full cup. Once we reached the counter, though, we were greeted with a warm smile, which was appreciated. We ordered the chilaquiles with an addition of Al Pastor meat, the asada and eggs, the concha French toast, a cronut, the house lager, and a local craft beer. it took approximately an hour and a half from the time we got in line until we were finally seated. By that point, we were more than ready to eat, and despite the long wait, we were still excited to see what the kitchen could do. Unfortunately, that excitement faded quickly once the food arrived. The concha French toast was a big disappointment. The menu description had immediately caught our attention, and we expected something that combined the richness and texture of French toast with the distinctive character of a concha. Instead, we received four small, shortcake-style pieces of bread that were dry and didn't particularly resemble either French toast or a concha. There was no noticeable cinnamon-egg batter, nor any powdered sugar. The dish was served with fresh berries and a side of cajeta ( a craft caramel sauce). The caramel itself was delicious, but it wasn't enough to make up for the lackluster bread. The chilaquiles were the biggest disappointment, and unfortunately, this dish had several execution issues altogether. The tortilla chips were soggy, lacking the texture you'd expect from well-executed chilaquiles. I also ordered the dish with Al Pastor meat, hoping to get a taste of the restaurant's house adobo. Instead, what arrived was a measly portion of tiny pieces and crumbs of meat that appeared to be mostly the remnants from the bottom of the pan. Then there was the oil. There was an excessive amount of it-- so much that a pool had collected in one corner of the plate (see picture below). I actually had to ask the server for extra paper napkins so I could soak up the oil. It was difficult to appreciate the pastor's seasoning or adobo from the oily portion that I was served. The eggs were another example of inconsistency with this plate. I specifically ordered them over medium, expecting set whites with a warm, runny yolk. Instead, the eggs were cooked very unevenly. One was noticeably overcooked, while the other was so thoroughly cooked that the yolk had essentially been obliterated. For a dish that relies on relatively simple ingredients, getting something as fundamental as the eggs right should be a given. My partner's asada and eggs wasn't terrible, per say. However, the dish consisted primarily of bell peppers, a blob of melted cheese, and some asada meat-- the kind you get with regular asada tacos. On the other hand, the biscuits that accompanied the dish, were a genuine highlight. We particularly enjoyed the jalapeño and cheese filling, which gave them a nice savory kick. Thankfully, the bakery items and beer showed us where La Cheve really shines. The house lager was crisp, refreshing, and very enjoyable, while the cronut was downright scrumptious. These were the kinds of items that reminded us why we had been so excited to visit in the first place. Ultimately, La Cheve feels like a restaurant with two very different personalities. The bakery side is impressive, while the savory kitchen needs considerably more attention to execution and consistency. If I were judging the bakery alone, I'd happily give it around 4.5 stars The cronut, biscuits, caramel, and house beer all showed plenty of promise. But the brunch dishes need work--particularly when it comes to texture, portioning, cooking temperatures, and consistency. We came in eager to understand what had generated so much enthusiasm for La Cheve. There are certainly some very good things happening here, and thoughtful touches like the umbrellas for guests waiting in line make a difference. But based on our visit, the kitchen still has some significant kinks to work out before the savory menu matches the promise of the bakery.
