Not a good experience. Left the dentist in excruciating pain and all they could do was give ibuprofen. I did not feel taken care of.

We moved to Scottsdale about six or seven years ago. My wife did a ton of research before picking a…read moredentist and she chose S&L with Dr. David Ngo. I went with a different place at first because it was closer to where we were living. Well, that turned out to be a mistake. I ended up having a bad experience there and finally switched to S&L. Dr. Ngo and his team fixed everything the other dentist had messed up. Right away I knew my wife had been right all along. I've been going to S&L for four years now and they really are the best dental office I've ever been to. Dr. Ngo has removed all my old metal fillings and replaced them with modern ones, plus he's done a couple of crowns for me. Everything looks and feels great. My wife has also been extremely happy with all the work he's done for her too. I'm almost 55 and I've seen a bunch of top-rated, highly recommended dentists over the years, both here in the US and a couple in Mexico. Nothing else comes close. One thing I have to mention is how good Dr. Ngo is with people who hate dental visits or get nervous about pain. His work is excellent, but it's the way he takes care of you that makes the biggest difference. For example, the way he does Novocaine shots is unbelievable. You barely feel it at all. Every dentist out there should learn his technique. With all that said, I do think the front office experience could be better. If the customer service up front matched Dr. David's clearly caring vibe, it would be 100% perfect. If you're looking for a truly professional dentist who gives five-star care and service, this is the place. Dr. David Ngo at S&L is the only one I would recommend without any hesitation.

I chose this dentist because of all the amazing reviews, and so I thought I'd detail my experience…read morebecause it wasn't as perfect as the reviews make it seem. They seem very knowledgable and seem to know what they're doing when it comes to dentistry, but my concerns are more in the administration side of things. I changed jobs earlier this year and got new insurance with a common major insurance provider, and I needed to get a procedure done. I asked them what the procedure would cost and they gave me a quote, which was already expensive, and I paid that at the time of service. However, when I came in for a routine cleaning 6 months later, they said the insurance "didn't pay as much as they thought" and stuck me with MORE THAN DOUBLE their original quote. I looked into the insurance claim and called the insurance company myself, and the insurance company paid exactly what was according to their billing schedule. There were no surprises. I think the office knew (or should have known, because they're the professionals and this is what they do) that this would happen, and they dishonestly gave me a lower quote, did the service, and then stuck me with the even more expensive bill (but to their credit, they did give me a lower price than what they billed to insurance, but it was still VERY expensive that I was not prepared for). Additionally, I distinctly recall the procedure treated four teeth, but then on the bill and insurance claim, they say they treated six. Unfortunately, I don't really know how to argue this, especially because it happened so long ago. I suspect they didn't contact me about this issue earlier for this exact reason. Again, dishonest. Another concern with this dentist is that it's unprofessional that they use Zelle to get around credit/debit card transaction fees. Every merchant has to deal with card transaction fees, they shouldn't be up-charging that cost and they shouldn't be using Zelle, which is supposed to just be a peer-to-peer payment network. Lastly, as much as I love dogs, I don't think it's hygienic that they keep a dog in their office. In all, I started off loving this dentist, and very disappointed that they turned out to be this unprofessional and dishonest. I'm sad I'll have to go elsewhere from now on.

It had been a few years since I had seen a dentist due to some difficult past experiences with my previous provider. I was honestly nervous going in because I worried I would be judged for not taking the best care of my oral health. Taylor completely put those worries to rest and made me feel welcomed and comfortable throughout my visit. Dr. Dena Khoury Myers was exceptional as well. She took the time to explain my treatment options and even recommended alternative treatments, including peptides, to help prevent cavities. I absolutely love that Pearl Dental is a family owned and operated office. Everyone made me feel genuinely cared for, and I never felt like I was being pressured or overcharged for treatment. I'm so glad I found Pearl Dental and will definitely continue using them for all of my future dental needs. Highly recommend!

My experience at this office was disappointing, particularly when it came to feeling heard as a…read morepatient. I was anxious about preserving my natural tooth structure during a cavity treatment. I expressed that concern because I wanted to understand what was necessary and how the dentist would determine what tooth structure needed to be removed. Unfortunately, the interaction left me feeling uncomfortable asking questions and uncertain about why the preparation needed to be enlarged. In retrospect, I recognize that my questions may have come across as questioning the dentist's competence, and that was never my intention. I was an anxious patient trying to understand an irreversible procedure. I can accept that my concerns may not have come across exactly as I intended, but I also believe patients should be able to express anxiety and ask questions without being made to feel that they have challenged their provider's credibility. What I want from a dental office is straightforward: clear explanations, respectful communication, and the feeling that I can be an active participant in my own care. Instead, I left feeling less comfortable and less reassured than when I arrived. With all due respect, I won't be back.

Posting on behalf of my mother, Linda Matz:…read more I want to express my appreciation to Dr.  Fialkoff and his staff and here's why.  My experience with him started before we moved to Phoenix.  In 2017, we came here for a visit and I developed severe tooth pain.  He took me in as an emergency patient, did x-rays, and had to pull the tooth.  We moved to Phoenix in 2018 and he became my dentist.  Now, in the middle of the covid19 pandemic, I had another dental emergency.  In spite of the risk involved to him and his staff, he saw me right away and treated my problem.  Dr. Fialkoff and his staff have proven themselves to be caring, dependable, and professional in every way. - Linda

I was immediately pleased with my first call and the more I found out about this practice the more I was drawn to it. The transition from the last practice was easy because of the personable positive help and flexibility from the staff. When I first met Dr Fialkoff for my exam I felt as if I was a patient for years. It is hard to explain but the doctor projects a professional warm caring common-sense concern for the patient that I found in the first dentist we had for 30 years who has since retired. Dr. Fialkoff fit me in and filled the cavity during that first visit, and I believe we are going to be very pleased with our decision to have joined this practice.

I also really appreciated that the entire staff was female. It made me feel much more comfortable, especially since I've had negative experiences with male dentists in the past. Very clean and friendly pupper !! The only downside is that it's definitely on the expensive side, but I understand it's a high-end practice in Scottsdale. They're also incredibly busy, I had to wait about eight months for my appointment, but I can see why they're so booked. In the end, it was worth the wait. My teeth are clean, healthy, and I had a great experience!

As you will see from my profile, I don't usually leave negative reviews. But After several years…read moreof trying to make it work, finally had to leave this extremely disappointing office. This is not the dentist for you if you are a basic patient that doesn't have serious dental issues or need cosmetic surgery or appliances. They don't take care of you or treat you if you aren't making money . The only bright spot is the front desk and the hygienists who are excellent despite the dentists being inattentive and uncaring. I switched to this dentist (Dr Bri) several years ago after moving here and having a multi year relationship with my prior dentist. While Dr Bri was fine at the beginning, everything became progressively worse over time. This office is a money making machine that only cares about selling you cosmetic dentistry and services you don't need. They did this to me and my kids, each of us getting separately estimates for 20k of cosmetic work every time you go in for a tooth cleaning. Another friend left the practice after having the same experience. I stayed on bc I felt it was fine to say no to cosmetic work but ultimately was relegated to worse and worse service. Several times, and maybe all of the last four visits, I had to ASK to see the actual dentist. They tried to send me on my way after the hygienist cleaning. I was asked if I had a particular issue and said- no I just think the dentist should look at your teeth during a dental exam. Terrible customer service. Worse, last time I was there, they had someone who I don't think had ever seen a tooth doing flossing and other basic work (it wasn't the hygienist). She kept skipping teeth and had no clue what she was doing. It was almost like a joke. Then when I asked to see the dentist, I found out she wasn't even there that day. Why even schedule me for an appointment? It was ridiculous and the final straw. Side note: They also refused to send X-rays to my oral surgeon bc I wouldn't sign up with their surgeon who wasn't covered by my insurance. My surgeon had to take new X-rays. What a racket. Again The only reason for not giving one star are the front desk and hygienists who are excellent. I consider the dentist a long term and personal relationship. I went to this office for years and had absolutely no relationship with Dr Bri. The customer service is poor unless you need major work done. Find another office if you are just an ordinary person with good teeth that need to be cleaned.

Dr. Grieb may have been in a bad mood when he cleaned my teeth, but, he was rough, gruff, and in a hurry. My cleaning was the fastest I have ever had. I wasn't able to have that lovely 'clean teeth' feeling that I am used to having when I leave the dentist. But those cleanings were done by hygienist at other offices. I don't know if Dr Grieb always does the cleanings, but, I won't be going back. I would've gone back to have the bridge redone, but I really didn't want to work with their office anymore.
