There are some questionable 1 star reviews here for Kenilworth Cleaners…read more One person writes that the clothes smell like "chemicals" and therefore it can't be "organic" or environmentally friendly cleaning. This is poorly informed. All cleaning uses chemicals. The way you clean, is you have to use a lipophilic agent that removes dirt and oils from clothes. There's no magical way around that. The important question is whether castile or plant-based cleaning agents are used. In which case, that is what they use at Kenilworth Cleaners. Either way, I have been getting most of my dry cleaning done at this mom and pop shop for the past 3 years and my clothes have never smelled better, been pressed better, and have been cleaner than any other dry cleaner I've used. As for the second 1 star review that says "the owner was rude because she asked me to call back later because she was already helping a customer"...umm, that sounds like the caller herself needs a 1 star review. In fact, I read through her reviews on her profile and she goes around town giving everyone 1 star reviews, always asking to speak to a manager and finding out they are "rude" as well. There's an old saying about this.... The people who work at Kenilworth are absolutely wonderful. I recommend checking it out for yourself.

I wanted to give them a second chance, and dropped off two basic cotton tops, and asked them to hem them by two inches. Nothing special, just straight across. When I paid, the total was $80.00. To hem two cotton tops. I am dumbfounded by that price. I think it's important to pay people for their work, but $40.00 to hem a basic cotton top is unbelievable. It's my fault for not checking the price first, but I had no idea it would be so extremely expensive.

The man who works at the front of the house, if you will, was super friendly and nice! I dropped off 3 pairs of pants (1 for dry clean and hemming, 1 for hemming only (from a crapping hemming job I did myself a couple of years ago that wasn't holding up well), and 1 for repair to a ripped seam), and he was taking down my information- I was with my fiance, and we had a little joking repartee about whether or not we had the same last name. When we told him we were engaged and would eventually, he told my fiance that he was a "lucky man". I am as partial to compliments, so that got us off on the right foot immediately. I dropped off the items on Saturday afternoon, and they were ready on Wednesday. Chiberia 2014 prevented me from picking up the items until today (almost a week after they were ready), but that same sweet man was working, and he made venturing out into the dark, cold night worth it! The total for all that work? Only $33, which I consider a real bargain! The nice man even held the door for me as I was leaving! I'll definitely come back here. The prices are great, and the service is extremely friendly. For a neighborhood dry cleaner, this place rocks!
