The park itself is very clean and nicely laid out with a cool splash pad for children to play in as well as a nice little park with stuff to climb and slide down and around on. I like that the park had some really clean bathrooms and the stalls didn't have any gaps when I closed the door. Being able to walk around this park and see some beautiful views of the water was something that was very cool because it is right off the water! No matter where I was walking there was something to see and enjoy. There was also a ton of seating around the park so I didn't have to sit on the floor or sit in the way of anyone. I also love that there are both stairs and ramps so that everyone is able to enjoy this park!

Also, during this event they had the bathrooms of the music venue open, which was really nice. I liked being able to walk up the hill between the music venue ans the library to see what it would be like to be sitting on the lawn for a concert and to also see the seating area for concerts. At the top of the hill, near where some construction is now taking place, are the murals. I love murals! They bring joy to the park. Parking isn't great. I parked far away on the street for free. The lot I parked next to is not free during concerts but was also free duringbthis daytime festival. I definitely will attend more events here.

Absolutely loved this island!…read more I have an annual pass for state parks so I didn't have to get into honeymoon island itself. A short drive to the paying booth for taking the ferry from honeymoon to caladesi. It is $20 dollars but they do take military discount too! The two guys on the boat are very funny guys. The captain loves to tell dad jokes and the other tells you fun facts about the islands. It's a short ride to caladesi. Once we arrived there was lots to explore however my friend and I just had a beach day. There is construction going on due to the past hurricanes but there is bathrooms, a cafe, and plenty of shade and trails! I can't wait to go back and explore more. The ferry takes off from honeymoon every hour and from caladesi every half hour. Highly recommend a day trip here!! Water is so nice.

It is accessed by ferry with a great crew from the honeymoon island state park in Dunedin or by boat for a fee. The regular price for the ferry is $20 RT per person. They also have a military discount. I went on a Friday and expected it to be crowded but it wasn't so that was nice. There is a cafe which different food, drink, and souvenir offerings. If you rent a beach chair or umbrella, you can get 2 free drinks from the cafe so that's cool. Regular chairs are $35 and lounge chairs are $50. They come in a set of 2. Because it was just me, I got the lounge chairs for a discount of $40. The water was perfect and I had the best time. I can't wait to go back!

Alligator look out and watching is a must in the low portion and the bridge. Do not approach them! There's also a disc golf course on the western side of the park with ample parking and easy access for ADA folks, like me! I do use this park to start my bike rides on the Pinellas Trail and that's another reason to just go out and enjoy it. It's right next to the Pinellas Trail and good to mention the "Rails to Trails Conservancy" here! So glad to be a small part! There's a huge playground for children of all ages and a place to eat a nice picnic lunch underneath a nice open shelter. It's well patrolled by the friendly park ranger team and they are always out cleaning and repairing the park. Largo PD and the PCSO drives through a few times a day and this keeps the place quiet and calm. Beautiful place to calm the soul! Just Breathe!

My SIL has lived in the area for years, and knowing how much I love exploring nature near and far, she recommended a visit to this gem of a park only 10-15 minutes from her home. PERFECT choice!! We didn't have a ton of time, but squeezed in a FINE early morning walk around the lake, and I confess I slowed her down taking TONS of pictures (as usual...) because even though it's far from "wilderness," it's a great spot to see lots of nature and wildlife (no alligators this visit!!) and get away from the hustle and bustle normally part of my visit down to the Clearwater area. So many beautiful birds!! There's a well-marked trail around the lake, passing by picnic areas, playgrounds, disc golf courses, and more. Wish I had more time to explore, but at least I know where to go to "decompress" next time I'm down in this area. Definitely worth a visit... Enjoy!!
