First, they doublecharged for PT sessions, and our insurance (UHC) initially thought my husband used up his allotted number of visits - he hadn't. NRH wouldn't fix it when my husband discussed the errors with them - but you can bet they listened when UHC called. This happened a second time, and again UHC had to step in. Apparently they also "forgot" to bill UHC for some sessions. It's been a full year, and suddenly NRH has sent my husband to collections, with ZERO notice, and with ZERO fault on our end. NRH now refuse to speak with him/us. UHC has said they and we are not responsible for payment if they're not billed within 90 days after the service; again, it's been a year. Our credit rating is in jeopardy because NRH Rehab refuses to have a competent billing department and has terrible customer service. Go somewhere else for your PT - you don't want to deal with this strain on top of whatever injury you're trying to heal. I hope this review warns others before they have the same unacceptable experience with NRH Chevy Chase.

My emails have been left unanswered, texts have been left unresponded to, and the mailbox for every number for the office I have tried is full and hasn't been cleared for months. To start, I had a great experience until January of 2022, but afterwards, my experience with Got Your Back has been an absolute nightmare. While I paid up front for a 12-session treatment plan, I only received 8 treatment sessions before the office closed with the promise that Dr Klein would be in touch. Months have passed and I received no call from him. To add insult to injury, the office has sent repeated invoices for the treatment I already paid for despite me speaking with the billing office two months ago and them telling me to not worry and that it was simply a clerical error that they would be sorting out. Fast forward to this week, when they sent me a letter saying that I was delinquent on payments and they would transfer my (already paid) balance to a debt collection agency. They have been consistently unresponsive and unprofessional through this whole ordeal. I have received no offer of refund or completion of treatment plan, and instead been hounded for payment which was already processed months ago. Overall, it is a shame that GYBTH has come to this because the care was truly great beforehand. I only hope that this finally gets the attention of the office and catalyzes action. If not, I highly recommend you take your business elsewhere.

However we saw three nursing students sitting at a nursing station desk. When I asked for assistance setting brakes on my friend's wheelchair, they didn't know how to set them and didn't offer help. Motivated students could help ease the workload of the nurses. The nursing home has guests check in and wear a mask. The greeting staff was nice. There is a chapel off of the main lobby. Each floor is different. The floor we visited had a small dining room, activity room and social room. If you wanted to visit inside the room, you had to drag a chair from the hallway. The floor and rooms were incredibly hot. The bed was changed and monitored. Other areas of the room needed attention. The trash cans were full. If one trash can wasn't getting noticed, I don't see how having three in the bathroom and bedroom would be practical. A patient was left in the hallway. She was crying out from time to time. No one was checking on her. It was disheartening to watch. The patients can't have rails on the beds. My friend is 90. She falls out of bed. The solution is to have a tiny pad on the floor. It isn't sufficient. I don't know enough about other facilities in the DMV to compare. Having a chapel isn't enough to sustain a quality visit. If you don't have visitors or a family advocate, the patient will be lonely. If mobility is a problem, the patient won't be able to get to an activity room. Practicing medicine and practicing billing are two separate things. Saving money by cutting staff means patient care will be lacking. Those three nursing students could have been comforting patients, visiting with them and even helping change beds or empty trash cans. I see that each review gets the same comment copied & pasted. The time could be more efficiently spent by teaching everyone how to show visitors how to set brakes on a wheelchair.

It's utterly absurd that African immigrant nurses, who seem to harbor contempt and indifference…read moretowards native-born black Americans, are allowed to care for our loved ones. My experience with African immigrant medical staff has been overwhelmingly negative. Do they not realize that their presence in America is solely due to the sacrifices and hard work of black Americans? Nurses have an ethical obligation to provide compassionate care. We didn't bring our loved ones to Africa for medical attention; African nurses came here! As much as I dislike Trump, I sincerely hope he takes steps to remove Africans who harbor prejudice towards black Americans from our country. I find this reality incredibly disgraceful and disheartening.

The pt started out good but made me feel uncomfortable when she was asking when would I be going back to the the orthopedic to get more imaging. I didn't know that was her decision. Two of the PT practices were medical factories, processing dozens of people at a time with one-size-fits-all exercises, regardless of the underlying problem. The third PT practice seemed better because it was small, but the "doctor" I saw was a charlatan with and a crook. I was ready to give up on physical therapy, but was persuaded, by my orthopedist and friends, to try again. This time I was recommended to Nova Care, a national firm with an office in friendship heights, and what a difference! This company has the highest ethical and medical standards, with an extremely professional and skilled staff. There are generally two therapists on duty at a time, seeing no more than three or four patients, so that the patient receives close attention at all times. Exercises are focused on the problems presented, and easily changed to reflect the patient's level of tolerance and needs. I can't believe how much better this company is than others in the field. Barri Schnall, my current therapist, is amazing, both in her focus on current problems (spinal stenosis, affecting both shoulder and hip) and interest in other problems that turn out to be related.

Usually, PT sessions are an hour but Jessica didn't even try to get me through a good workout: I came in at 1 pm and she didn't have any other exercises to do by 1:25 pm. SERIOUSLY?! I can't believe I wasted my time for something I could've done at home. She did not give me productive workout for my knee, didn't observe and correct my posture/form during the couple exercises I did, nor did she do any evaluation of my knee's range of motion or strength level. Her communications and exercise demonstration skills are lacking and she just seems so incompetent that I won't be returning to see Jessica. Decent PTs should actually care about making sure their patients get a good workout, learn new exercises to try at home, be informed about their progress in posture/form, and truly want their patients to recover. The one star is for the other staff (clinical assistants like Lauren, Bernadette, Mike, and the front desk people) because they have better communication and professional/common courtesy skills than Jessica. I used to love coming here when John Jowers, DPT still worked there. He is best PT this clinic has had. He was very thorough & professional. He walked you through all the workouts by showing you how it was done, examined how you performed it, shares extra tips & his knowledge about relieving pain in the knees/ankles, and made sure to challenge me through every workout. He made sure to take care of all patients and not just rush them out. It really sucks he left and is at a private practice now. I would totally go and see him if I had time to deal with insurance claims.

From the exercises, dry needling, massage and extensive education about his condition, everything about his treatment plan has been truly excellent. Arona was invaluable in keeping my son optimistic about his recovery and guiding him on exactly what he needed to do. After reading reviews, I decided to make an appointment with Noelle. My experience with her over these past few weeks has been nothing short of amazing. She is an exceptionally skilled provider who is clearly an expert in her field. Because of her breadth of experience and extraordinary needling skills, I always felt at ease and am now feeling SO much better than when I first came to see her. And she is just an overall lovely person who you can tell truly cares about her patients. The office is bright, clean, easily accessible and modern. I cannot recommend this practice, and specifically Noelle, highly enough. You will truly be in the best and most competent of hands.
