I would not recommend this nursing service. Today not only did they fail to send a nurse for our scheduled time, but I received no calls informing me - in spite of my having left several messages with their answering service. In general, I have found it difficult to communicate with the coordinator as there is no email and there is no direct line telephone number. Today was the last straw. Non compassionate case workers, doctor and therapist when it came to my concerns and voice opinion when it had to do with my mother. I Will be seeking more people for this to reach in the right departments. The families of the patients aren't being heard and that's about to change. read more

I find it difficult to write this review as my preference would be to provide glowing comments about our attentive caregiver instead of complaints about the company. Capital City Nurses experienced a software change at the beginning of 2024 and unfortunately, a learning curve that has left clients confused about the schedule and being overcharged for services that were not provided. Add to the frustration of not receiving a reply to multiple emails nor a return call after numerous voicemails resulted in the promise that I would discontinue services because numerous charges to my credit card caused me financial difficulty and it eventually had to be locked. One confusing thing that happened after 4 long weeks of aggravation, was a reply to my original email and a phone call from three separate employees. However, the overwhelming task of replying to multiple people requesting documentation and not having any resolution, has me feeling as if this is a stall tactic. Basically, the company has not reimbursed me for a significant amount of money, yet I get the sense they are dragging out the process so that eventually, I will owe said amount "IF" I were to continue services. I hope that while they get up to speed with the software, they consider using a traditional pad, paper, and email to track hours, monies paid, and return calls before they lose their clients. read more

terrible service. The schedule has been messed up for weeks, system is down they keep saying. I can't get copies of bills, voicemail box is full not accepting new messages, can't get anyone on the line to rectify these issues. My parents' long term care is threatening to stop payments. i have sent over 7 emails to our dedicated rep as well as the general mailbox with no follow up other than an once I rec'd an out of office reply. read more

Do not use this company. I wish I could give negative stars. We engaged them to care for my dad, and amongst the numerous complaints I have, the worst are: + caregiver sleeping on the job (during the day) + caregiver laying on the couch watching youtube on her phone the entire shift + caregiver showing up sick to the shift (while my dad is immunocompromised) + caregiver not showing up at all These are people who don't care about providing care for your loved ones, they are doing the bare minimum to make money. We started out with several days a week, mostly companion care, but when a simple thing like the lift chair going out revealed that it simply wasn't safe to leave my mom alone any longer, Ready Hands provided 24/7 care without missing a beat. The aides have been competent, compassionate, and professional. Although mom got along with some aides better than others, truth be told, these are people dealing with stressful situations, and every single person they sent to us was certainly up to the task and always behaved appropriately, whether hourly or live-in. read more

My Dad's private Home care giver needed to leave for a few weeks due to a family emergency. After researching a few companies, I called Ready Hands for help. I found the entire experience, from start up to finish very easy. All of the people I interacted with were kind, supportive and accommodating. Most important, the care my Dad received, in his words, was excellent. Hanna was just what he/we needed. I have already recommended this company to elderly neighbors. For any company/service, it is important to be clear on what you need and make adjustments along the way. Is there a negative star rating? I don't even want to give this company any stars. It's a long review but it's necessary. I employed their services for 4 days and told them to recall their nurse immediately after hearing how unprofessional the scheduling dept was. The sales dept will sell you services based on what you want to hear but the scheduling is far from professional. First, I spent 30 minutes talking to a nurse to provide information describing my mom's condition and then had to repeat the same info to the care givers again because they had no idea what they were needed for. Care givers showed up with PPE masks hanging off their face and at night not wearing one at all when I checked in on my mom. I even had to tell a care giver when to change my mom when it was evident that it was necessary. Not only that, I had to help these professionals clean my mom (who was not a heavy woman) because they could not do it alone. I'm paying them $$$ to be self sufficient. What would have happened if I wasn't there? One night I waited three hours for the night shift to show up. I contacted the agency at 8:15am telling them I needed night care. Spoke to Andrea who was supposed to call me back to confirm. Crickets. I called back mid afternoon and spoke to Yvonne who said it was a miscommunication. When someone says they will call you right back and they don't that's not miscommunication. That's someone dropping the ball. Finally night shift showed up and it was Aleisha the night nurse from the previous two nights. I practically threw myself at her. She was the only care giver that came in and gave me the confidence that my mom was in good hands. The next morning another care giver came in. This one wearing a face mask with a paper towel hanging out of the top of it. When I overheard the conversation with Yvonne the scheduler I knew it was time for Ready Hands to go. Yvonne did not have anyone in place for coverage. It was if she was casting a net to see what caregiver was available rather than knowing who was on call. Yvonne called the night shift three hour debacle an inconvenience. A dog walking company not showing up is an inconvenience. Showing up three hours late to take care of a sick person is inexcusable. And to blame me for it was the last straw. The only bright star in this unorganized and unprofessional group was Aleisha. The only health care giver that had the experience and professionalism to help my family. Like I said I only employed this company for a short time and that was too long. Once I heard the scheduling office managers excuses I just couldn't continue. Save yourself the frustration and find another company read more

We've been using Ready Hands for home health care for my elderly father for about a year now, and the experience has been simply wonderful. Trying to manage home care for a loved one from across the continent is terrifying, but I finally have peace of mind that my father is being well cared for, after having had horrible experiences with other home health services in Northern Virginia. The Ready Hands aides are skilled, attentive, responsible, well-supervised, and above all, kind and thoughtful. I have been using Ready Hands for my father's care since my mother passed away in 2014 and I don't know what I would do without them. I can't praise the company highly enough! The caregivers have been excellent: professional, caring, responsive, gentle, engaging and, most importantly, patient. The caregiver matching process was thorough and the person selected for my father's care has been superb. He adores her and I am relieved to know that he is in such good hands. I have also been impressed with the staff and flexibility Ready Hands provides. As I have had to increase care from 8 hours daily to 24 I have found the staff to be responsive and able to make changes quickly. read more
