I'm only giving 1 star so I can write this review. If I could give 0 then that's what I would give. First, the customer service is non existent. All you get is blank stares and nothing else. The lady at the snack counter was visibly annoyed and had the worst attitude. Not to mention, the nachos was stale chips and stale melted cheese. Second, they have an age limit for weight of balls???? I've been bowling in multiple places all across the country and have NEVER heard of that before. Ridiculous. Some attendant came up to me and told me I couldn't use the 7lbs because i'm an adult. I have carpal tunnel and it's the only weight I can comfortably handle so I could bowl with my kids and not be in pain. Worst experience. We will not be back and will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

You get what you pay for, I guess. I'm a therapist in Baltimore City Schools, and today we brought our summer campers to bowl for the $3 game special. Everything started off great until one of our campers began struggling. He's only 7 years old but is extremely small for his age (he still uses a booster seat) and was having a hard time throwing even a lightweight bowling ball. He kept getting foot faults or slipping and falling while trying to swing the ball down the lane. Instead of melting down immediately, he did exactly what we've been working so hard to teach him in therapy: he recognized he needed help and appropriately asked if he could use one of the bowling ramps ("slides") that children in the lane next to us were using. We asked the front desk twice and were told no because he was over the age of 5. I asked to speak with a manager, hoping there would be some flexibility given the situation, but was told the same thing. When I asked why, I was told it was for "insurance purposes." I genuinely don't understand how allowing a struggling child to use a bowling ramp is a greater liability than watching him repeatedly slip and fall while carrying a bowling ball. To make matters worse, I was told, "Three-year-olds can bowl without those slides, so he should be able to." That response completely ignored the fact that every child has different abilities and experiences. This was a child who had never bowled before and was trying his best. He wasn't asking for special treatment. He was asking for help. We begged the manager to make an exception. He begged to use the ramp. The answer remained no. His frustration eventually escalated to the point that he had a tantrum and had to leave early, turning what should have been a fun outing into a heartbreaking experience. What upsets me most isn't the policy itself--it's the complete lack of compassion or common sense. Rules are important, but so is recognizing when a child simply needs a reasonable tool to participate safely and successfully. I've seen adults use bowling ramps at other alleys when they needed them, so refusing one to a struggling 7-year-old made no sense to me. I left feeling incredibly disappointed by how the situation was handled and by the manager's dismissive attitude when I tried to express my concerns. We won't be returning, and I sincerely hope this bowling alley reconsiders this policy so another child isn't left feeling defeated simply because they asked for help. read more

The only place in the area to bowl other than smaller lanes in Aberdeen. Ample parking and friendly staff. Lots of specials and deals on holidays and just because throughout the week. Some are a great value. They are connected to a seafood restaurant that is delicious! They do have a snack bar with typical and wonderful bowling alley food!! It's super retro and amazing. They do birthday parties here and it's great for entertaining guests and serving food. They set up all the things and do a great job. The Rock and Bowl at night is fun too. Been on a league here for the past 7 yrs. There is never a week that we go that one or more teams had to be moved due to a lane that isn't working. It's very infuriating as maintenance of the lanes is more than likely a large part of owning/running a bowling alley. Not to mention the cost of being on a league - I know the alley doesn't get every dollar, but they make enough to properly maintain the lanes (again the main focus of what they offer). read more

We went for a Saturday Night Strike from 7:30PM - 10:30PM. We weren't aware you couldn't bring something small to celebrate a birthday with (one-bite cupcakes) so keep that in mind if you attend. Bowling experience was okay, but had to have our lane serviced several times. The tech was great, so not his fault! I came here the past two weekends and I'll never be back. This girl at the counter is absolutely rude as heck, she doesnt need to be in a customer facing role. Apparently they have rules about everything and one of their rules is you can only use certain weight balls depending on how old your child is. My child is extremely small for his age and they would only let him use a 8lb ball this time which is wayyy to heavy for him. Mind you last week he used a lighter one and the girl at the counter said well that was a mistake... They literally had full racks of 7, 6 lb balls, but because hes 9 only 8lb and an upset child because they wouldn't let him use a lighter ball. I asked why and she said because thats the rules and its been like that for 20 years. I would say next time I'll lie about his age but there won't be there a next time. The previous weekend we reserved a lane online the night prior then when we got there we reserved another (8 people) in person. Even though half of the bowling alley was empty they said we weren't able to get two lanes next to each other because one was ordered online, seriously??? They were acting like we were the crazy ones not knowing. Also paid $5 more reserving a lane online fyi... 4 kids, 4 adults and they won't give us two lanes next to each other is insanity. There were at least 6 lanes between our two... Like other reviews both weekends there were two kids (staff) watching every move we made, they didn't say anything to us but we knew what they were doing - the bowling police. I did see them come give this group of 4 young teenagers next to us what seemed like a little bit of a hard time for idk what, I think hitting the reset button when the lane didnt work right.. They were very nice teenagers, weren't loud and were respectful and knew bowling etiquette and should be the type of customers this place would want back time and time again. I'm not an avid bowler, but in my over 40 years of life I've never experienced anything like this before bowling anywhere. To top off another rule, as we were leaving I noticed these little permanent signs on the tables - not allowed to move tables due to insurance reasons. Not that I wanted to move one but I found that hallarious as I was leaving. Go somewhere else to bowl, even if it means a longer drive. read more

Apparently there is an age limit when it comes to having the bumpers up. My kids are 11, and they didn't enjoy themselves because they kept getting gutter balls. When I asked the lady at the counter she said it has to do with the cost of replacing the bumpers, and she wouldn't tell me the age cut off. My issue is that if we had someone else with us who was say 8, we'd be allowed to have bumpers. So what's the difference?!? We were also given a hard time when my kids tried using smaller balls, because it was easier for them. Nope, again they are too old. So needless to say, we won't be going back. read more

Horrible experience - counter staff, one particular young lady was rude as they come today, needs a major lesson in customer service as she was on a power trip. The large majority of the bowling alley was empty as it was a Thursday afternoon, when they assigned us a lane it was right next to a whole bunch of kids having a party. We requested to be moved over one lane, we had just ordered $100.00 worth of food from the snack bar, (that unlike all the other times was just terrible, the only thing that was on point was the French fries) and wanted to be able to use the high top table, we were told no, they would not move us, I told her we didin't want to be right next to a bunch of little kids, she basically told us too bad. One of the children we had with us wanted to use bumpers, this became another battle as she demanded to know the child's age, what does it matter, we have a small child with us, we want the bumpers up for him, this became another pissing match, she refused until I provided her the age of the child that wants bumpers up. I was told there is an age limit to using bumpers. Since we wanted to keep an eye on our food and be able to move around, we decided to rent the lane next to us so the children could bowl on the lane with the bumpers and the adults bowl on the lane right next to them.... she REFUSED RUEFUSED to rent us another lane, stating that we don't have more than 7 people in our party so we are stuck with what we were assigned, one lane. She stated that she just rented the lane next to us... there was no one at the counter at that time. About 15 minutes later a single individual started bowling on the lane next to us, a few minutes later two ladies were bowling next to that lane and so on. We had six people in our party, please explain to me why if we were paying customers why we couldn't pay to rent a 2nd lane??? There are only 5 chairs to a lane, so someone had to stand the entire time while the littles next to us were bouncing all over the place... us adults were stuck using bumpers though "there is an age limit" Unknown to them, for the past three years my company has had our Christmas party and at least one other bowling function there spending a minimum of $2,500.00 for each function, this will no longer be the case. read more

Worst bowling alley experience. Went on Saturday night and the lanes kept messing up/scores were never right. They gave us 5 free games for the issues, however, when we tried to go back to use them they told us we can't cause the email had to be printed out. No where on the email stated it must be printed only that we must present the email. We have come to this bowling alley many times. Always had a great time. However, our experience today was very different. We spent HUNDREDS of dollars on 2 lanes for 2 hours and lots of food for 12 people. We brought a small cake for 6 kids as it was my daughter's 10th birthday. And they refused to let us bring in the cake because it was "outside food". I asked if they sell birthday cakes and they said no. So I don't understand what the big deal is with a little cake. Then, for the entire 2 hours, a staff member watched us bowling, never leaving our lanes. He was constantly disturbing us to tell us which balls we could and couldn't use, which buttons we were and weren't allowed to press, and every rule you could possibly think of. This kid took his job WAY too seriously. We weren't being disrespectful or destructive what so ever but they felt the need to give us a hard time about EVERYTHING. Shook it off and then they ended our 2 lanes (150$) early and told us to clean up all of our trash and put away the bowling balls because they didn't feel like doing their jobs. This is just one of many bad experiences I've had here. I asked for a slice of pizza and the lady at the counter said she didn't feel like making it because they were closing soon and they also refused my friend A GLASS OF WATER. After purchasing a ball recently from this pro shop, the ball became gouged from the returns at Forest Hill Lanes who reported they would pass along the concerns and the gouged ball to the pro shop. The staff also moved our games to new lanes to avoid further damaging any bowling balls. After waiting 5 days, the front desk contacted me to state that the ball was ready to be picked up. Upon arrival to pick up the ball, the ball had not been touched and I was told "that girl had no right calling you" and the justification for nothing being done was that "it doesnt affect the tracking". I understand that the ball performance won't be affected, but the lack of communication, concern, and the level of unprofessional behavior of the bowling alley manager walking away during a conversation was completely unacceptable. read more

I tried handling this straight with the store manager but got no where. We held my daughter's birthday party there in January and paid an additional $80 to have it from 5-7 on Saturday evening during their Night Strike. Their music was broken. The lane machines were resetting every other turn and their workers were less than helpful. There was no communication about how or when to order the pizza and drinks that came with the party. It was rather disorganized and disappointing. I asked for a refund of the Night Strike fee and did not got a response. The alley is well-maintained, but the staff is HORRENDOUS. We were blatantly told the wrong rules, which would have impacted how many lanes we paid for. Then, the general manager accused us of drinking in the alley, even though we were not. Finally, we purchased a few rounds of food at the snack bar, but the attendant was rude, slow, snappy, and she never communicated when our order was complete, so it got cold sitting there. Went in with two other friends for 2 hours of bowling. We paid for the Friday night special, 14 dollars per person. The man behind the counter explained nothing about the times being in blocks. Got our shoes, which were busted up and falling apart - literally my friend's toes were poking out of the tip of the shoe. Our game was cut short, we only bowled 1.5 hours of the 2 we paid for. I walk up to the counter to ask why? Lady behind the counter tells me she gave me 30 minutes extra than I was supposed to get. Ok so I paid for 2 hours of bowling but got an hour and a half and the half was extra? This place will rip you off. I'd rather go to Harford Lanes where you get what you pay for. Absolute terrible customer service and the rudest staff I've ever had to deal with, came here for a scheduled birthday party in which we reserved three lanes for two hours (over$400) get to the establishment around 6:20, go to open the doors to go in theyre locked, call to ask what the deal was and they said they dont open until 6:30 (but yet their hours are 9am-10pm on Saturdays) and that they couldn't let us in, we were told to sit in our car until 6:30 meanwhile its 90+ degrees out with an ice cream cake in the car, I asked whats the difference if we come in now and start setting up now vs waiting ten minutes? Woman very rude on the phone says well I cant let you in until 6:30. 6:30 comes around and we have to wait in a long line to tell them our names/party information and to get shoes, where as if they would have just let us in when we got there we would be out of their hair!!! Not to mention the older woman working the snack bar is the most unfriendly miserable woman if ever spoke with, we got three pizza voucher tickets for the party we reserved, I ordered one cheese and two pepperoni, she said the only way I can get pepperoni is if I pay the extra money, I said ok how much? She says $3 dollars, really??? Paying over $400 for a three lane party and pizzas and shes being rude about $3 damn dollars? Went there for birthday, really fun! But Ice cream not great, would of been 5 stars if the ice cream was better. I had mint chocolate chip and had a couple tastes and threw it away. Not to be too harsh but it tasted very chalky. Probably not going to get ice cream again. Also annoying that they automatically at the stroke of your time limit immediately shut down your lane. The entire staff was amazing. They were great in helping us setup and assisting with the party. Travis was over the top professional and checked on us roughly fifteen times throughout the two hour party. This is your typical bowling alley. The people at the desk were nice. Shoes were uncomfortable but well taken care of. We had nice people around us. Lost a star because it is a little bit pricey but did see they had deals during different times. Lots of kids and teenagers but they were fun to watch and laugh at. My nephew really enjoys coming here when visiting on weekends. We try to hit up the early discount hours - otherwise it gets too pricey after just a couple games. Snack bar options are horrible and way over priced. Never too crowded. Nice "relaxing" bowling outing..though my ego and manicure always take a big hit. read more
