Yes! This place is awesome for carry out! They make everything right in front of you. My third time to their location. I have had the breakfast sandwich; bacon, egg & cheese sandwich which had 6 strips of bacon. Lunch; Philly Cheese sandwich and I've also had the steak tacos. Everything has been very good

When I checked Howley's on yelp I was surprised that there were so many negative reviews. Howley's is managed by the Sub-Culture Group, and we dine regularly at Kapow in East Boca and Dada in Delray Beach, also managed by Sub-Culture. And while this is an entirely different type of food, I still wanted to take a chance and check them out. And we did and were pleased and more than satisfied. First, the decor is truly funky. I'm not sure if everything is from the 50's when they first opened, but it sure looked like it was. The restaurant was spotless, and the toilet was as well. The AC was strong which was appreciated. Artwork on the walls was not our style but must have been from a local artist. Ceiling fixtures were similar to what my parent's had in the late 60's. Jessica was our server and she was professional and positive in her attitude. Could not have asked for anything more. Decided to order a turkey club on rye bread ($15) with fries which were included and share it. Some of the reviews addressed how large their portions were and photos confirmed it. Jessica brought out the sandwich which was split in the kitchen with an ample amount of fries on each plate. The fries were delicious. Obviously freshly made and not sitting around, they were crisp without being overcooked. The turkey was described as fresh roasted sliced turkey and it sure was. Bacon was plentiful and crispy along with fresh lettuce and tomato. Mayo served on the side as requested. The sandwich was so large that I was only able to eat a half of my half, taking the rest home for the following day. Ordered a corn muffin and chocolate chip muffin to take home and each was fresh and delicious. ($5-$6) Howley's certainly warrants a visit if you are in the area and not seeking a trendy looking place which exists all over West Palm where the food may not be as good but the vibe is what is being sold with mediocre food. There was an on-site manager who visited our table to make sure all was good. I neglected to ask her name and apologize - she was welcoming and clearly on top of her managerial duties. Would I return? Sure would. And endorse fellow helpers to check them out.

It was once a great joint. I walked in, to the vintage counter. Seats are looking worn again. The server was prompt. He cleaned the counter. Handed me the menu. I sighed, after opening it. It was still the decades old time capsule of standards. I thought: There was that chef, back in '09. He rocked the standards. Maybe they found someone with that kind of passion. They didn't. The Matzoh Ball- Noodle soup. Soup stock: Watery and salty. Noodles? Mushy. The Matzoh ball had a stale, slightly metallic taste to it. I put it aside. My French Dip, an old reliable, quickly arrived. Looked good. The fries are like ties, in this joint. They change width, over the generations of this geriatric menu. This was okay. A ray of hope. The sandwich looked good. I picked it up. Dipped it into the au jus. Watery. Thin, like a patron who won't eat bad food, trying to pick something off of this menu. I was hungry. I ate the sandwich. The jukebox played a sad, 1950's. Patsy Cline tune: Crazy. I watched Ghana get banged up by Colombia, in World Cup. Ref played for the system. My mouth, and eyes, and ears were all filled with regret. I don't generally do desserts. They had some fine looking cakes. A slice is a meal for four. I asked the server for something smaller. Coconut cream pie. Made fresh. In-house. Looked great! Coffee. Black, and hot, like Beyoncé at a Super Bowl halftime. The pie? Good crust, but the filling? Thin. Watery. Over sweet. Coffee was diner decent. Vibe to the place is tired. Needs some love. I finished writing up my notes. I found a no-longer-existent phone booth. Called the DA (Digestive Attorneys). Definite food crimes here. Charges should be filed on the kitchen. 117.209.2.1 - Unforgivable Mediocrity. 129.059.1.1 - Culinary Hopelessness. 129.059.1.2 - Stale menu. It was raining. It used to be a French restaurant for about 20 years and then kept changing hands with different types of cuisine. I am really hoping that is one of those restaurants that will make it. Our dinner experience here tonight was extremely pleasant. This is a huge restaurant with three rooms and a bar. There's a choice of about seven entrées and several salads and appetizers. We were a party of three and decided to try Pomona because we've never eaten there before. To start out with, I have got to give a shout out to our waiter Liam. I'm a senior citizen and I've eaten all over the world in many restaurants of every size and reputation, but I have never had a waiter as good as Liam. Even in Michelin five star restaurants in Europe . He was extremely pleasant, courteous, personable and ensured that we had a memorable dining experience. Let's face it. The food can be extraordinary, but if the weight staff sucks, then the experience is horrible. On the other hand of food could be mediocre, but if the service is outstanding, then you might overlook the mediocrity . It was the little things our waiter did like in between the appetizers and the salads and the main meal he came and gave us new napkins and changed all of our silverware. I have not even seen this in five star restaurants. He checked up on us frequently, which is something that waiters rarely do in any restaurant nowadays -- they usually take your order and that's the last you'll see of them until it's time for the check. But Liam checked on us frequently and make sure we had water and whatever we needed. Both my husband and I ordered the herb encrusted grouper. It was literally melt in your mouth grouper with some type of sauce that was made in heaven. The presentation was over orzo. I also had a Caesar salad. The third member of our party had the vodka penne. She loves Italian food and she said it was delicious. The portions were so huge that we had to take some home. Everyone in our party also had a Moscow Mule. For the quality of the food and the service this place was very reasonable --a party of three with cocktails, dinner, appetizers, and salad came to $155 before tax and tip. We will definitely return. And here is hoping that Pomona will last because we need a restaurant like this in downtown Lake Worth.

The menu has a lot of comfort food like options. For mains, we had the mini "Big" Brekkie (fried hard), Fish and Chips, and Mushroom Toast. They were good. The payment was a bit glitchy. Isla & Co describes itself self as a taste of Australia and is oriented toward coffee, brunch, lunch, dinner and cocktails. The inside of the restaurant is bright and very echoey.
