Has this place changed hands in the last six months or so? Thought it was Korean last time I was in. Chocolate Buttermilk donut was positively stale, coffee had a weird taste, and christian music is always a turn off. Do not proselytize when all I want is some food. read more

As mentioned in another person's review, we watched the owner add a tip for herself after a customer left. The customer (an older person who may not have realized they needed to select an option after paying) did not make a selection on the tip screen. When they left, the owner walked around the counter and selected 10% tip before returning behind the counter. We made a mental note and decided we wouldn't be tipping. After we paid for our order, the owner did not even turn the iPad screen toward us so we could make a selection. I assume she was planning to add a tip for herself after we left. I asked if we could choose a tip option, and she pointed to the iPad (again, didn't turn it around for us). Needless to say, we selected "no tip" and won't be returning. read more

While I have no complaint about the donuts, a tip was automatically added without being informed of this. Also the square pad that usually shows what is being charged, and gives an option for a tip, was dark so I could not see this. When I called back to complain about this, her offer was to correct it next time I came in. I had started out telling her I would not be returning! read more

I just went to this place for breakfast for my entire work crew, I ordered some jalapeño kolaches with other items.. I took one bite out of it and it was not cooked and doughy. I proceeded to go back inside and ask for fully cooked kolaches, and again same problem. I was fed up and just requested a refund. Won't eat here again, and will advise others too not as well. read more

This place is ridiculously expensive. I got one cronut and a small croissant kolache it was seven dollars. When I called and questioned the lady about the price, she was very rude and hung up in my face. I will never go here again. read more

I would leave negative stars if I could. It was our anniversary this weekend, so to celebrate we ordered breakfast and some doughnuts from Forest Donut shop. The breakfast foods were delivered, but not the doughnuts. We called to correct this and the owner reluctantly agreed that it was her error, not the delivery driver's error, and then assured us more doughnuts would be sent out. They never were. We called again this morning to resolve the matter, and the owner hung up on us after saying "Not my problem." This is completely unacceptable customer service. Granted this is a small problem in a world full of big ones, but now we have to contact our bank and get the charges reversed. Just a heads up to anyone ordering from Forest Donuts. read more

Stopped by here to grab some goodies for a staff meeting because it was very convenient on my way to work. The woman behind the counter was very friendly and efficient; she even threw in a free cinnamon roll with my dozen donuts. The selection is somewhat limited, but covered the basics that most people like. For a dozen donuts and 6 regular kolaches, it was just under $19, which is reasonable in my opinion. The parking is a bit tricky-it is a busy area with lots of cars coming in and out-most going to the Starbucks nearby. I'll likely be back when it's time to bring goodies into work again. read more

Popped in this little donut shop before taking a friend yo doc appt across the street. There was a starbucks nextdoor. However, starbucks doesn't serve apple fritters. In and out in less than 5 mins so that was good. $2.15 for an apple fritter that seemed awfully small. Maybe I was so hungry any size would have seemed small. As far as taste it was very basic. There's a shop in west fw that really does an apple fritter right. For the amount of calories I am consuming. ..think I will stick to getting my donut fix there. read more

I was lured in because of the large pictures of food on their window. My grumbling tummy said to get a meat roll. (Pigs in a blanket, whatever you call em ) Plus I felt bad b/c I parked right in front, and was headed to starbucks for my latte. So I stopped in and asked for a jalapeno meat roll and a regular one. Um, first off, these were pretty large, and came with what I thought to be a big price tag. Roughly 2 and some change each, total was 4.52. This was a full size hotdog though. The bread was no better than an enclosed hotdog bun, and the lady nuked em for me for a bit. The plain one was too plain so I only ate a few bites. The jalapeno one was better, and I was a bit pleased with the fact that the jalapeno bits were INSIDE the hotdog, along with some cheese specs, instead of just random pickled jalapenos being inside the bun. (That's almost always an ugly surprise) For a quick breakfast on the run, it'll do. read more

What kind of alternate universe am I living in? I was so excited to try a nearby donut place on a very rare lazy Sunday morning. I went to Forest Donuts around 10am and they were sold out of everything! Just plain out. No glazed donuts. No filled. Not even a little squishy donut hole in sight. Wiped out! After I got over my shock, I opted for the closest thing I could find to our usuals - a chocolate twist donut and one with sprinkles. They were delish but it just made me want a good ol' fashioned glazed donut even more. Lesson learned. I guess the early bird gets the glaze. read more

Decent donut place. Not amazing donuts or amazing coffee. Also the shopping center is a little bit of a mess to shop at and I feel like the donuts are a tad bit expensive. I think at most donut places I leave amazed by how cheap donuts are and I have eitehr gotten used to their inexpensiveness or Forest Dounts is a little more expensive. All that being said, I love donuts and they have a convenient location on Forest just off 75 so when I am in the area is the morning, I will sometimes stop in and get a chocolate covered donut and a cup of coffee. This is the local donut shop right across from Medical City Hospital. They are conveniently located two stores down from a Starbucks as well. So, I like to order my coffee and then walk over to grab a few donuts, pastries, or sandwich. They also have drinks like juices and coffee too. I've always been greeted and felt good vibes in this place. The food is always so good and fresh. Parking can be weird at this place but just be aware of your surroundings, people. If you are in a hurry don't park behind a light where people may block you in and you'll be in and out and no worries. read more

While paying for my order i saw a roach running across the back of the countercwhere the donut fillings are. When i told the lady she looked back but by then it wasnt there. Came in at 5:20am and there were only cake donuts available. I asked how long it would be for the rest of the donuts to be ready. The woman at the register told me they're making it right now. She kept asking "What you want? How many?" I told her I just wanted a couple glazed donuts and some specialty donuts like sprinkles, or Oreos. Again, she asked "How many glaze?" I asked my question again because I just wanted to know how long it would be so that I could SEE what I was buying. She wouldn't give me an answer. Frustrated, I said I would just buy the cake donuts. I had to tell her twice because she kept asking me over and over "Its ready now! How many glaze you want?" Finally she left me standing at the register and goes to the back. After a couple minutes, she brings a tray with a couple glazed donuts and one which she clearly had JUST thrown a couple sad pieces of Oreos on (which turned out to be stale btw). I was annoyed at this point, that one quick trip to the donut shop would take so long. So I bought 4 donuts and 3 small kolaches. The total came out the be $10.75. Not worth the trip. Located across the stress from Medical City Dallas, this small donut shop alway serves HOT fresh donuts. The staff is very friendly and quick. The only down fall is the parking. There is limited parking, and when you get a spot, it can be difficult to get out with all the traffic. Be careful pulling your car out! Starbuck is just two doors down, so morning weekday traffic is very busy, however when you get in, the donuts are hands down the BEST! read more

I came in for donut holes this morning. They already had the bags made with a dozen glazed each. I asked the lady if she could mix the bag with chocolate donut holes as well. After giving me a dirty rude look she proceeded to mix the bag. I don't understand what is so weird about mixing the flavors. Then she comes back and tries to be nice, whatever. A bag of mixed donut holes was $2.16. What the hell! Donut holes are usually $1. They are more expensive than normal donut shops. read more

I frequent this donut shop because it's the closest one to my home. The staff is almost always friendly and they usually give you extra donuts and donut holes if you buy a lot from them, though that also depends on who is working that morning. Something that always bothers me when I come here is that they never seem to have enough jalapeño kolaches. I'll show up at 7:30 AM, 8:45 AM and they'll be out of kolaches or down to 2 or 3. This is really disappointing, as this is my favorite part about this donut shop. They should really increase how many they make a day, because this is only driving their customers away and making them take their money to other donut shops. read more
