Because the park was a little off the beaten path, it wasn't super crowded. Everything was clean and in good working condition. The park was full but not crowded and people were respectful. There is no shade at this playground in particular. The park is a great option once the McDowell Nature Preserves park and playground closes. You can quickly head over to the Palisades park and let the kids finish playing. That's exactly what some friends and myself did. The playground equipment is very modern with an old school rocking horse available for smaller kids. I was very impressed by the different pieces of playground equipment. I believe it's ideal to go to this park when school isn't in session because the playground equipment is used by the school. Well, this filled the air with charcoal dust throughout the camp ground. The result, BBq charcoal dust all over my tent, inside my tent on my pillows and air mattresses and sleeping bag. He continued to do this while I was trying to sleep. Also, even though my tent was under a e tree, the sun shined directly on my tent site during the day. This kept the inside of my tent hot during the day. Thus, I couldn't sleep. Most sites at this campground from what I saw has the sun shining on your tent from about 7am to about 3pm. I will not be staying here anymore. Now, if you are in an RV, then I recommend staying here because the sun doesn't matter. But if you are working at night and trying to sleep during the day and you are staying in a tent, I do not recommend staying here.
