I was born in a small town and I live in a small town, time to que John Mellencamp…read more That's the way I feel about events here, nothing like the feel of a small town. I've been to this park many times over the recent years but this evening was special because my Grand was performing in the town Christmas show Choir after the Tree Lighting. The Town did such a great job adding the 2,400 square foot Amphitheater, it's a great design and a needed addition to the growing Town of Fort Mill. It's a town tradition along with the parade. They close down main street making it walkable for all the local business'. We're living in the 'post-COVID' world and it feels so good to see all the residents and hundreds of families out celebrating the season and just being together. There was so much laughter, so many smiles and it was clear to me we as a community, a town and a nation are feeling happier and more optimistic.

Came out on a Saturday to enjoy some jazz in the park. I arrived around 7:30 and the weather was…read moreperfect. I lucked up on a parking space right off the green but this place definitely needs more dedicated parking. The amphitheater is nicely located at one end of the green and away from the playground. This allowed ppl to setup their chairs and tents by the stage and families to be closer to the park area so their kids could play. The addition of bathrooms is super nice and the accommodations are great. This event included food trucks and a beer tent. You had to purchase tickets to buy beer but the ticket tent was right next to the beer tent. Can't wait for the next concert and to hopefully entice the family to come out too.

So happy to discover this hidden gem in my backyard kind of. My friend and I walk every Sunday in…read morethe greenways in Charlotte but this morning I suggested we try this place I drove thru while exploring Rock Hill. Wow, what a great change in scenery. We did 7 miles on and thru the trails along the river. We started at the river park entrance off the industrial highway (I'm not good with directions) and ended at the River Walk by the Pump House before turning around. It was a great workout with some hills but the views were the Star. Old bridges, big metal bridges, swings on the river banks and wooden trails thru the woods' this place is a gem. Can't wait to go back

The trail I spotted is clearly marked with blazes. It's not handicapped accessible with a few scrabble areas and some felled trees that would need to be stepped over. The hike would likely land on the "easy" end of the scale and it's very pleasant to walk through the woods. The sign indicates that the park closed November 4 and is estimated to be complete in late Spring 2020. Users of the Piedmont Medical Center Trail at 100 Celriver Road can still access the trail. Remember to always hike with a friend! [Review 13039 overall, 356 of 2020.]

Stopped by for the Perfect Game tournament. It's a cute little park with ample parking spots…read more There's a statue in the center of the drop off area which is a nice touch. Tournament was delayed by two hours due to rain. When we arrived the fields looked great and there was ample space to set up your own seating. A few trips were made to the bathroom by my group and no complaints. At one point, one person when to the concession stand to see what was on the menu as we were starting to get hungry. Come to find out that even though teams were still playing, the concession stand had closed. Most places would make an adjustment to their schedule for delayed tournaments to ensure they stayed open during the last games. This may be an external group that runs them, and I get it, it's just tough to corral hungry children and convince them they'll be fine for awhile longer.

People seem to be completely ignoring the signs because the park was incredibly crowded and no one was social distancing. Luckily, we were able to find a secluded picnic table to sit at and eat our lunch. It seemed like a nice park and I would have loved to stay and walk around on some of the trails, but I wasn't comfortable doing that considering how crowded it is. I'd recommend trying to find a less popular park than this one if you're just trying to spend some time outside.
