Tournament was delayed by two hours due to rain. When we arrived the fields looked great and there was ample space to set up your own seating. A few trips were made to the bathroom by my group and no complaints. At one point, one person when to the concession stand to see what was on the menu as we were starting to get hungry. Come to find out that even though teams were still playing, the concession stand had closed. Most places would make an adjustment to their schedule for delayed tournaments to ensure they stayed open during the last games. This may be an external group that runs them, and I get it, it's just tough to corral hungry children and convince them they'll be fine for awhile longer.

People seem to be completely ignoring the signs because the park was incredibly crowded and no one was social distancing. Luckily, we were able to find a secluded picnic table to sit at and eat our lunch. It seemed like a nice park and I would have loved to stay and walk around on some of the trails, but I wasn't comfortable doing that considering how crowded it is. I'd recommend trying to find a less popular park than this one if you're just trying to spend some time outside.

This solves most of the problem of anyone being a bully. There were loads of parents there with their kiddies to insure sharing. Loads of free parking avaiable. Found one…read more In addition to the soccer/football field and the two softball fields and the baseball stadium and the two batting cages and the playground and the THREE picnic shelters, they also have a 1.5 mile walking trail here. Was here all weekend for a lacrosse tournament. Fields are artificial turf, are beautiful and well…read morekept. There's a paved walking path around the perimeter of each field. Fields are surrounded by fencing. Restrooms did not seem to be maintained throughout the day so as the day wore on, and more people were using it, it was a mess - no toilet paper, dirty messy floors, a couple of toilets needing maintenance. Not pleasant at all. There's only one restroom building and for our tournament, there was always a line at the women's restroom. Parking was horrendous. For any other regular event, there's probably enough parking but for this tournament it filled up quickly by 8am and people were starting to park in the grass. The Park officials announced during the tournament that anyone parking on the grass will be towed. They did suggest other parking areas on a gravel path that were still pretty limited. If you're there for a big event, just get there early enough to park.

I didn't know what to expect from this green square on the map in Ballantyne. I was looking for…read moresomewhere to eat my snack. This "park" is not part of the Charlotte parks department. Instead, it appears to be an artifact created by the Ballantyne Village community that surrounds it. About the size of a postage stamp, the square park has smooth brick walkways and a number of benches. In time, the trees will provide more shade but for the moment (July 2020), it's too hot and sunny. There is street parking on all four sides of the square.
