11-30-24 Saturday…read more Had out of town visitors and they wanted to go to the beach. I normally go to Buerkes Beach but one of the persons in our party cannot walk far. So I chose this beach based on the high Yelp ratings that proved once again correct. Once we arrived you pay the meter based on the time you plan to be at the beach. I chose two hours. You enter the parking space number and pay $1. per hour which is very reasonable. Gorgeous beach lots of sand that has not eroded away. If it was warmer we would definitely have stayed longer here. Will be back again soon.

If you get there early, you can snag a good parking spot, if not, you may have to walk a bit. There are also changing/wash stations and bathrooms, but take note where they are because it might be far. This is another one of my favorite beaches during off season, but will venture here during peak season too since it's lovely.

Private beach access was a short walk. The pool was clean and offered a separate kiddie pool. Unfortunately, the hot tub was closed for repairs. We took advantage of the nice gazebo area with 3 gas grills and a gas firepit. The beach was not crowded at all. Only had one day of rain. Palmetto Dunes is safe, secure, very clean, and family friendly.

Fairways and tee boxes the worst I have ever seen on this course. Most fringes dead. What was most disturbing was the pro or pro shop attendant trying to tell me nothing was wrong and it was only the aeration that was causing the dead grass. When I pushed back, he said they were bring in more sod. You would have to shut the course down and put in all new greens to fix this which is what will likely happen. If they would mislead you regarding golf, unclear how they deal with remainder of property.

The beauty is no large chains really and the signage is minimal. Therefore you will really rely on the GPS to get you anywhere. Several resorts such as Disney which I stayed at previously when my son was younger. This trip Home 2 Suites. The good thing about this Island is you would be hard pressed to find a negative a bad restaurant or lack of them either. People and service are so friendly it makes you want to never leave. I can see why so many people including myself love it here. Lots to do such as the beaches, shopping and eating. As well as Golf where the PGA National is held at the Sea Pines Country Club.

It could be because this park is only maintained by the Town of Hilton Head Island where the others share maintenance with the County? When I stopped by, it was off season and I rolled the dice that parking enforcement was light. Also, it was a quick visit because it was raining. Larger than the other two parks i mentioned, this park includes a playground, restrooms, outdoor showers, picnic shelters, grills and the boardwalk leads to a beach that has seasonal life guards. Highlight of my trip to Daufuskie!…read more This is a beautiful beach! And, you can see Hilton Head Island if you look north, as well as Tybee Island looking south. The beach was clean, very wide, sand was nice and soft, good breezes, just lovely! Dogs are allowed on the beach, and parking is free at the access road. People sharing the beach were friendly and polite, and all dogs were tended to and kept under control.
