So apparently this Forecast Coffee company originates from Whistler but now they have opened a branch in North Vancouver. This location is supposed to be a roastery, cafe and test kitchen all in one. The entrance is through the alley and thankfully they have parking spots right in front of their shop in that same alley, including a handicapped parking stall. I was delighted to see this as I'd read that the entrance was through an alley but was a little apprehensive about what the parking situation would be like.
We ordered Classic Poutine, Mushroom Toast, a Forager Bowl, a Smores cookie, an iced Mocha, an Iced London Fog and a cup of English Breakfast tea. I'm on the hunt for a good poutine on the North Shore ever since Raglan's closed and turned into Olivo Cafe. The gravy for this poutine at Forecast Coffee was little saltier than I'd have liked but my daughter actually enjoyed it that way so...personal preference I guess. It was a pretty good poutine overall but we both agree that we preferred the one that we used to get from Raglan's.
I enjoyed my Forager Bowl which consisted of tater tots, roasted mushrooms, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, red onion, poached eggs, pesto mayo and spicy mayo. Hard to go wrong with anything that involves tater tots! My Iced London Fog was good as well, and my daughter said that for once, she could actually taste the chocolate in her Iced Mocha. We very much enjoyed the Smores cookie. It was really soft which is just what we wanted. We like our cookies soft. It's a pretty large cookie, so...great for sharing!
I was impressed by the size of the cup that my mom's English Breakfast tea was served in. It was a huge, jumbo sized cup. Very generous. read more
