The person who took my order was really nice and patient, so I really appreciated that…read more Unfortunately, the experience after that wasn't as great. I asked the barista if they had anything for dogs, since I know the Commercial location does, and she told me they didn't. That was completely fine, but while I was waiting for my food, I could hear the staff making comments about me asking and talking about me while I was standing right there. It made me feel really uncomfortable and unwelcome. I had no issue with them not offering anything for dogs--it was more about how the situation was handled.

we were really thirsty after lunch and decided to duck into jj bean on hastings for a matcha latte…read morewith oat milk. first impression? airy, bright, and wonderfully spacious. the big windows flood the café with natural light, and there's plenty of seating whether you're flying solo or catching up with a friend. it's clean, calm, and surprisingly quiet, the kind of place where you can actually hear your own thoughts and hold a proper conversation without competing with background noise. the vibe strikes that sweet spot between modern and cozy. terrazzo tabletops, soft bench seating, comfy chairs, and oversized dome pendant lights that look like they might be made from recycled materials, they honestly reminded me of those soft egg cartons, but in a chic and sustainable way. it feels warm and welcoming without trying too hard. our matcha latte with oat milk was subtle, smooth and earthy, nicely balanced, not too grassy and i skipped adding any sweetener. it was okay for a mid afternoon pick me up, not the most memorable matcha i've had, and the latte art could definitely use a little polish. right at the counter there's a tempting display of baked goods: pastries, muffins, and sweet treats lined up like they're daring you to add "just one more thing." if you're feeling brand loyal, there's also branded jj bean coffee and neate donuts merch, tote bags, mugs, tumblers, toques, ball caps and tshirts, making it easy to leave with more than just caffeine. bonus points for the outdoor patio seating. on a nice day, it's a great spot to linger with a drink and soak up some sun. overall, a lovely little pause in the day. bright space, easygoing atmosphere, and a solid drink. we came in for matcha, but honestly stayed for the vibe.

We stopped by here while driving back from the Whistler area to Vancouver…read more A friend had recommended this spot to us as a nice spot to take a driving break and refuel - and clearly a lot of other people had the same idea, as it was pretty packed! A few people had laptops and books out and appeared quite settled in at the few tables inside. There was plenty of additional seating in the outdoor patio though, so we were able to quickly grab two seats. Service was super friendly. FOOD // We got a 12oz latte and a maple walnut donut to share. The donut was delicious - so fluffy! - and the latte was also made well, balanced and a good accompaniment to the donut. If we weren't so full, I would've been tempted to get another donut... Next time!

This was only my third time here at Fox & Oak coffee & bakery…read more I've only ever had coffee & donuts here. It's usually just a stopover to or from Whistler or when visiting Squamish. This visit was the absolute charm. I found my new favourite donut here - the Maple Walnut. So amazing. This cafe puts Squamish on the map. At times the lineup is long but steadily moving. It's very busy here so don't expect too much peace & quiet one might find at other coffee shops. The surrounding location is a great place to wonder around & take a nice walk. The views of the world famous Stawamus Chief Mountain from outside this cafe are stunning. Shannon Falls is less than 10 minutes away. Service here is laid back & small town chill.
