We dined at Fords Garage yesterday. First, the hostess attempted to seat our party of 7 at a booth that seated only 5. We told her we couldn't possibly squeeze into the booth and she seemed bewildered. We asked if we could push some tables together. The reautauarnt was not even half full. We waited 22 minutes without anyone coming to our table. We had to flag a waitress down to ask for service. She apologized and took our drink order. We didn't get our drinks for another 15 minutes. We attempted to flag down the manager that walked by us twice and she was very aloof and kept walking. When drinks were finally served, she didn't bring straws or limes for drinks. We had to go to bar to ask for some because she didn't feature. Then our meal came. We were lacking silverware so we had to share silverware because she never returned to our table. We were hoping to have more cocktails but even after trying to order drinks from the bar, we were unable to. No idea where the bartender disappeared to. The food was mediocre but we wouldn't have complained of the service hadn't been so ridiculously terrible. At the end, our waitress apologized for our 20 minute wait with no service at first (but not for her lack of service after that) and did take 25% off our bills. We wouldn never go back here. It was so disappointing for what we were hoping would be a fun afternoon out. We went down the street for more cocktails since we could only get one drink each in the hour and 40 minutes that we were there. read more

Can't go wrong with a visit to Ford's Garage! I visited this location on a Saturday afternoon- the place already had a decent amount of people seated. We were able to be sat right away. Our waitress was quick to greet us. She was nice, attentive as well. We had an order of their fried pickles (yum) and I ordered their Estate Burger. It was ok- very, very greasy. The bottom bun was full of grease. Aside from that, the burger had good flavoring. Noise level is what you'd expect for this place. It was clean as were the bathrooms. I said I was confused as I had a reservation. Apparently they were not honoring reservations on Father's Day. I specifically picked this restaurant because I could make a reservation. The food and service was fantastic. Our server (Thomas) was tops. The 1/2lb American Standard was cooked to perfection (medium rare moist & juicy) with lettuce, onion, and tomatoes fresh and crisp. Homemade coleslaw was light and flavorful. The Famous Firestone Shrimp topped with scallions was enjoyed naked (no Spicy "Boom Boom" Sauce). The lightly batter crispy shrimp was golden brown and also perfectly cooked. The only negative, which can be easily be remedied, was the Men's room. With its oil drum urinals and tire sinks with gas pump handle faucets was unique (paper towels would be more in character than the hand blowers). However, the men's room stench was what one might imagine emanating from a 1920's garage. read more

This was the second time we came to Ford's garage and had a bad experience with the food. I ordered my burger medium well with no onions. It came out medium rare with onions, and it was warm, not hot. The server asked me if they should remake the burger because of the onions but I opted to take them off myself. After a few bites I cut the burger in half and discovered that the burger wasn't cooked correctly. I didn't want to wait half an hour for new food. Food is always amazing! This time I struggled cause I wanted to try the shrimp and grits, southern fried chicken sandwich with bacon and hot honey drizzle. Instead I went traditional American burger which was amazing! The service was good as usual! The atmosphere is cool too it took my daughter a minute to realize the wheel on the cars were actually spinning but she loved it. So many cool accents like gas nozzles for door handles. What a great vibe and concept. The menu is well done with references to car parts and car options. The napkin holders and hose clamps and the napkins are shop rags which I think is clever.
