I couldn't update this review fast enough. The excitement of when we first purchased this car, quickly faded away within the last 5 years and almost 37,000 miles later. 1. This model explorer alone had 33 safety recalls. Each time we took our car to the shop, it took 1-2 weeks for repairs. Completely inconvenient! 2. The crack in the windshield that was EXISTING when we bought the car never got repaired in the 5 years we had the vehicle. Don't bother purchasing warranties because this dealership doesn't honor them and the 3rd party warranty company gives you the run around. Ford was supposed to complete the repair themselves but kept pushing it onto the warranty company! 3. No cars transmission should go out at 36,000 miles and some change! NEVER!!! 4. As the dealership that sold the warranty and extended warranty there is no excuse as to why you can't locate a customers information to verify they have coverage for power train issues, but of course it's easier to try and convince a customer that they don't have coverage, I guess! 5. Replacing the transmission took just shy of a month and no loaner car was offered. Literally had to pay for a rental at about $600 a week, plus pay a car note for a car we didn't have in our possession just to be able to get to and from work! All because Ford only offers loaners for "Ford" warranty vehicles. How that even makes sense is beyond me! In this economy, an extra $600 is tough! 6. After repairs were made, we were told we could not pick up OUR vehicle until the warranty department made payment. So even after the warranty department approved the repairs and approved to cover almost 100% (we had to pay $200 for screws, yeah, I know, crazy), we were told we would have to wait until they paid because it was a large bill. I guess the peace of mind was being told that warranty "usually" pays quickly. We had to get the manager involved after numerous calls and he only agreed to release our vehicle because I'm sure he realized illegal business practices aren't the best route. I won't go into detail on the legal perimeters or lack there of to withhold someone's car without legitimate merit! Obviously I understand that no business is perfect and sometimes issues are bound to happen, but this experience alone showed us that Ford Fairfield does not care about its customers and will do anything they can do be shady, with a lack of professional business practices. Do yourself a favor and buy your car anywhere else but here! If I could give zero stars that would still be too many for Ford Fairfield... read more

Dear Ford Shame on you for designing the 2020 Explorer so poorly. Look up how many recalls this vehicle had. The number may surprise you, as it did for me, and I'm one of the few poor unfortunate souls that stood by Ford and believed in the brand. No longer will I, and I will speak with my wallet from here on. Dear Ford Fairfield, Where do I start? Imagine you are driving your young child to a medical appointment. While on the freeway, your vehicle dashboard screen flashes these words: "Powertrain system fault!" You try to maintain speed, but you can't; when you put your foot on the pedal, the vehicle makes a loud grinding noise. Your young child starts to cry because the noise scares them. You do your best not to panic because you're scared too.... My 2020 Ford Explorer with only 36,400 miles! Has a transmission fault. Really. The vehicle is taken to the Ford Fairfield dealership (where I originally purchased it). I check the vehicle in and tell the story of why I'm here. The reply I received while I'm being checked in is "you're just out of the warranty timeframe"--no real care for what was told, no fake care either. The lack of customer care was noted. I mentioned that it should still be under warranty. I was then told the price I had to pay to have it looked at, and that they would let me know what they found. Once I returned home, I set out to find my dealership paperwork, because I knew I had purchased an extended warranty from Ford when I bought the vehicle. Before I found the paperwork, I received the "thank you for visiting Ford " text, so I texted this exact message "Hello, can you forward me the purchase agreement paperwork and warranty paperwork that I purchased with you when I purchased the vehicle? I then received this message "Hello, I'm just in the service department and unfortunately wouldn't be able to provide any of those documents. You'd have to call in and speak with either Sales or the Finance Department. Are you saying you purchased an extended warranty for the Explorer?" How can you not see that I purchased an extended warranty on the computer and when I bought it from this dealership? Luckily, I found the paperwork and was able to quote back what it covered when the warranty was purchased and when it expired. All of a sudden, they could see the warranty and would call them. The job took about 4 days shy of a month, which I do not fault them or the warranty for, but during that time no one could give me an estimate on how long it would take. The Ford dealership would not give me a loaner vehicle either. I was told that Ford provides rentals in Ford warranty situations when needed, but for this particular repair, we are utilizing your third-party warranty. I purchased the vehicle and warranty at this exact dealership; this was a Ford warranty situation, and the vehicle was needed. Then I was told I would have to go through the warranty company. Then I was told, "Unfortunately, there's not much I can do due to how the ' higher-ups' here have set up the rental vehicle policies. " Wish this was disclosed at signing when the vehicle was purchased. I had to rent a vehicle out of pocket and pay a car note for a vehicle I did not have to go to and from work. As of writing this, I still have not heard from the warranty company about covering the cost, and I highly doubt I will. The last straw from this dealership was calling me after the work was finally completed, telling me they would not release the vehicle to me until the warranty company paid them. WHAT? So the warranty was already approved, the work was done, but you will not give MY vehicle back? Why even call me to tell me that? If nothing had been said, I would never have known, but why call me? Why rub purchasing this vehicle in my face even more? I then asked for Robert, the service manager. I forgot to tell you guys that I'd asked for the service manager's number two weeks prior; I left a message and never heard from him. The service member told me he was not in his office and would call me. The dealership already ignored my phone call for answers, and I insisted on waiting on the line until this manager was located. Once the dealership finally did the right thing and let me take my vehicle back home, I found that they left the wires for the vehicle's data link connector hanging out of place near the dead pedal. If this is how they left the vehicle, I can only imagine how much they truly cared for it. I do not recommend purchasing a Ford, nor do I recommend the Fairfield dealership. In all my years owning my Explorer, I never had a smooth experience with repairs or customer service. This Dealership takes no pride or true responsibility for their cars. I would urge you to be very careful and make sure you have copies of all of your paperwork so that you don't run the risk of being stuck with unwarranted repair bills! People of Solano County DO NOT take your personal vehicles to this ford location they've messed up too many times for me to forgive them it all started a few months ago with a pre purchased part for my interior It took over 4 weeks to recieve because they never ended up ordering it even though I would call weekly to check & see if it had arrived they couldn't even offer me a partial refund just a hey we got you on the next one so here we are my vehicle is due for a recall I was given a 1-2 day turnaround it ended up turning into a 7 day ordeal to fix my rear view camera the technician finished it at 8:00am (time stamped video) I didnt recieve the video until it was 6:00pm saying it was finished while they are already closed. I had to wait an additional 2 days just to pick up my vehicle the problem was not solved and was given 10% off on work (I never wanted or asked for) you guys definitely had me on the next one!!! Two strikes, and I'm done with Fairfield Ford. First, they dropped off my brand-new 2024 Mach-E with only 5 miles of battery. Now, a few months later, I scheduled a service appointment online for 7 AM. I even called on Saturday to confirm they'd be there Monday morning. Come Monday, no one shows up--I had to call them myself to figure out what was going on. On my second call, I learned they don't even service my area, and to top it off, their mobile service isn't equipped to handle the service I scheduled through their own system. Ford makes great vehicles, but clearly, not all dealerships are created equal. Hard pass on Fairfield Ford--take your business elsewhere. read more

I called in before hand and had a conversation if I could either get it looked at and fixed or if it was too much to fix we can figure out a trade I come in a couple days after and they tell me that they don't work on Mazdas (than why sell it?! I recently purchased a new Ford Bronco Badlands from Ford Fairfield. The salesperson was generally nice and the process was relatively easy. That is where the pros end. The process took incredibly too long. There is no excuse to take 3.5 hours to purchase a car, especially when the process does not involve price negotiation. They have "simple pricing", which is a fancy term for the fact they don't negotiate (doesn't mean it's the best price). Furthermore, they had a nearly identical Bronco in stock that had a "Dealer Installed" tow hitch and harness for $500. As this was a dealer installed option, I requested the same for my new purchase. I was told they could see what they could do, but that they could not honor the listed $500 price. I was then told that I could have one for a couple hundred more (no quote), but that did not include the harness. I explained that the harness was included on the other vehicle and was told told by the salesperson to just go somewhere else (as it would be cheaper). I requested a price quote and was never provided one. After my purchase I reached back out to Ford Fairfield when I was sent a satisfaction form request. A "sales manager" reached back, but again refused to honor the $500 listed price. He provided some line about dealer installed options being reimbursed through Ford. I explained that I had purchased a $65k dollar vehicle and it was ridiculous I was being nickel and dimed over a couple hundred dollars. He claimed he would give the service manager my VIN to get me the hitch "at cost". I never heard back or received a price quote. I reached out again requesting a quote and again did not hear back. I was able to find the hitch on the Ford Motor Company website that included/required installation for a total of $695. Ironically Ford Fairfield was one of the few listed dealerships to do this install. Odd, that they could not provide me a quote. More odd that they claimed they would give me a quote "at cost", but that it would be more than $500, when the retail price was $695. Clearly they do not care about their customers once the car sale is made and it appears something dishonest is happening with there accessory prices. I no doubt chose a different dealer to complete the install, and will make future purchases there. read more

This review is for the salesman Lucas and for all of the things he did to try and help me buy a used Ford F-150. I won't go in how crazy used truck market is. The chip shortage has caused a huge deficit on four-wheel-drive pick ups and the price has almost doubled in the last year. Last year I was contemplating trading by Ford F150 in for a new heavy duty pick up and I looked up the trade in value in the private party value which was around $6000. Today the same pick up would sell for $12,000. My son had an accident in my pick up, bent the frame, so we decided to buy another used one for him. Lucas helped me and was a Airon request. Lucas really tried to help me find an alternate vehicle since I felt that $30,000 for a 2014 used to pick was too much. I do understand that as a car salesman, they do a lot of stuff to sell their vehicles. But in this market, I have had so many sales people just say stuff like " this is what we have, this is the price, you either want it or you don't" Lucas didn't make me feel this way at all. read more

I have a Mach E, and this is the closest dealership that works on electric cars. My first experience was horrible. I took it in for a diagnostic. I rented a car for three days. I didn't hear back on day 1 day 2 or day 3. I called every day to check on status, and no one called me back. I asked to speak to a manager, and that person never called. Day 4 I went to the dealership to look into this. It happened to be the person who took my car in called in sick and NOTHING was done. It was sitting in the lot while I paid for a rental for three days!! Unacceptable. I went this morning for recalls and the undiagnosed noise getting worse. The same guy who was there from the previous time took care of me. I was told the same thing. I cannot tell you how long it will take. You can sit here and wait but it doesn't matter because we wont look at the car until this afternoon. So how come I'm here at 715??? I reminded him of our previous encounter and he just kept repeating himself like a mantra. I got in my car and left. Ford Mach E is stellar. Ford Fairfield customer service SUCKS. I will be driving out of the area to another Ford dealership and post if this is a systemic issue or a local one. I hope this post helps someone else. read more
