His staff and their manager have been helpful even though there was a surge of appointments since people are taking their pest more to the doctor's office during Covid. My rule each day is dogs first and they have the same care in mind for all pets.

Corporate needs to clean house, starting with Dianna, the office manager. It's bad vet medicine, and when we discussed it, their answer was not to address our team's input from multiple fosters, but instead go on the defensive. After this last incident as a rescue we will not work with them. One of our pugs tested positive for Erlichia. This was verbally communicated to our transporter. First the front desk person said the pug had heart worm and this was later corrected by Dr.Padilla. No written documentation was delivered to the rescue. After 3 email requests, we received it. They sent home antibiotics with no written instructions or explanation. We will not use this vet practice again and will let their management company know as they are corporate. They need to clean house as the attitude and hostility is condoned by management. .

Believe all these vets obtained their degree with chatGPT, do not go here. They will wait until you get to the front and the moment seeing the Vet to tell you that. They turned away multiple people in front of me for the same reason, my dog was checked my another vet just this last year, full check up and perfectly healthy. The vet excuse was that she couldn't hear well enough (we were the 5th people she had told this to and probably more) These vets are unqualified to be vets so I wouldn't trust your dog or fur baby in their hands. The lady that calls herself a vet is named Doctor dendnholz in our particular situation. Again ChatGPT degree, go to a real Vet.

The staff is very friendly, and responsive, and Dr. Leyda is extremely caring and knowledgeable. I have been here many times with multiple dogs for the senior full wellness package, and the doctor and staff are stellar. They always go above and beyond! There are no appointments, and patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis, but they are so good that I have used their services countless times. Nothing but praise for Dr. Leyda and her staff. (This is the PetVet in Watsonville, CA at the Tractor Supply Company.)

Poor communication overshadowed otherwise good veterinary care…read more The veterinarians at Aptos Creek Vet seem knowledgeable and kind. Unfortunately, our experience with the office staff was so frustrating that we won't be returning. About a month ago, we brought our cat in for an exam and bloodwork and spent over $500 to diagnose a thyroid issue. He was prescribed medication, which has worked very well. He has gained weight and seems happier. When we went to refill the prescription, the refill was rejected. When we called to ask why, we were told our cat needed to come in for additional bloodwork costing another approximately $250 before the medication could be refilled. That in itself wasn't the issue. What we asked, repeatedly in different ways, was: * Is this additional bloodwork a one-time follow-up? * How often will this testing be required going forward? * What should we expect the annual cost to be for managing this condition? We could not get a clear or direct answer to these very basic questions. Instead, staff repeatedly said "the vet requires it," without explaining the longer-term plan or costs. When we asked for clarification, we were told we must not have been listening during the original visit. As the conversation went on, it became more frustrating because no one would simply explain the monitoring schedule or expected annual cost, which is necessary to make informed decisions about long-term care. Even when the office manager got involved, the questions were still not answered directly. The situation escalated unnecessarily, and we were made to feel at fault for being frustrated after repeatedly asking for straightforward information. I really don't think we were the a$$holes here. If you value clear communication and basic transparency around ongoing care and costs, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

I think we are "Furequent Flyers" at this point- the staff here have nursed Lorraine through tumor removals, teeth extractions, a dog attack, rampant diarrhea, and many, many vaccines. I feel that the care team at Aptos-Cap are kind and also very professional: They have always ensured my dog has access to the highest standard of care but are considerate and non-judgmental when I decline procedures or ask for cheaper alternatives (e.g. declining an echocardiogram and sticking to x-rays and careful monitoring of my dog's heart condition). I've had the pleasure of working with all three veterinarians at the clinic and each of them are cost conscious, reminding me of prices as they build the invoice and suggesting strategies for meeting my needs. For example, they determined that my very anxious dog needed a sedative (gabapentin?) for a procedure and Dr. Hage explained to me the steep price difference between intravenous versus the slower but cheaper oral option. My dog is on multiple medications and they have happily given me paper-copies of the prescriptions to buy my meds at wholesale pharmacies. All the techs I've had are very gentle and patient with my dog (shout-out Trish!). Their new clinic is *noice* and feels exceptionally clean. Georgia at the front desk is the sweetest but on top of it with last-minute requests. No complaints about costs... Vet care in California is extraordinarily expensive across the board and Santa Cruz County is one of the most expensive places in the state to live or run a small business. I waited in long long lines at the free monthly vet care clinics when I was younger. You get what you pay for.

I am disgusted reading one star reviews from people with no concept of how much time good thorough animal care takes and how much things cost. An estimate is an estimate they have only ever charged me for what was needed. They are utter professionals, a very highly regarded facility and quite frankly all you people that are sending in one star reviews don't deserve their service or care. People in this field go into this field because they care - more than most- and they deal with and see a lot of really hard situations on a daily basis. Every time my husband and I have been here (with at least four different pets through the last 10-15 years ranging from mild to very serious) the care and veterinary expertise has been very good. I'm grateful for that! I hope they can get the support they need so they can help our communities' fur family members effectively and efficiently.
