Believe all these vets obtained their degree with chatGPT, do not go here. They will wait until you get to the front and the moment seeing the Vet to tell you that. They turned away multiple people in front of me for the same reason, my dog was checked my another vet just this last year, full check up and perfectly healthy. The vet excuse was that she couldn't hear well enough (we were the 5th people she had told this to and probably more) These vets are unqualified to be vets so I wouldn't trust your dog or fur baby in their hands. The lady that calls herself a vet is named Doctor dendnholz in our particular situation. Again ChatGPT degree, go to a real Vet.

The staff is very friendly, and responsive, and Dr. Leyda is extremely caring and knowledgeable. I have been here many times with multiple dogs for the senior full wellness package, and the doctor and staff are stellar. They always go above and beyond! There are no appointments, and patients are seen on a first come, first serve basis, but they are so good that I have used their services countless times. Nothing but praise for Dr. Leyda and her staff. (This is the PetVet in Watsonville, CA at the Tractor Supply Company.)

I recently had a HORRIBLE experience with my 12 year old German shepherd. We were out of the country on vacation and our dog became very sick with diarrhea and our boarder brought her in to Aptos Creek. They were HORRIBLE- claiming they had never seen the dog and denied seeing her. I even produced all her twelve years of care there and the tens of thousands we spent. They didn't care- claimed they never knew the dog or had seen her. I was astounded and let the receptionist know how angry we were. Her response was to hang up on us. Then UNBELIEVABLY the vet called me in Paris yelled at me and FIRED us. Stupidly I begged them to keep us and she refused. We were mean to her receptionist? The boarder nursed her through it until we returned home and picked her up. We are now taking our vet business elsewhere. BEWARE of these people they are not the same. They fired all the old personnel and brought in new people. I ADAMANTLY do not recommend these folks. Their attitude towards people and animals is poor.

This review has been a long time coming…read more Years ago, I brought my 12-year-old cat to Capitola Veterinary Hospital to see Dr. May after he developed severe neuropathy and could barely walk. We were good, loyal clients of this clinic and spent thousands of dollars over time on visits, diagnostics, and care. After reviewing his bloodwork, I was told it might be time to consider putting him down. I chose not to accept that. I took him to UC Davis and Pacific and Santa Cruz Veterinary Specialists, where he was correctly diagnosed by both places with diabetes--a basic and treatable condition that had been missed. With proper treatment, I managed his condition successfully for four more years. He lived until 17 and passed from oral cancer--not the condition I was told was essentially the end. Those were four incredibly meaningful years with a cherished family member that I almost lost prematurely based on that initial recommendation. Fast forward to recently--I brought my new kitten in for vaccinations, not realizing this was the same clinic (now Aptos-Capitola Veterinary Hospital) I had previously decided to avoid. Unfortunately, the experience reinforced my decision. I requested that vaccines be administered in the tail, which is supported by the 2020 AAHA/AAFP Feline Vaccination Guidelines to reduce risk and improve outcomes in the rare case of injection-site sarcoma. Initially, there was no objection, and the veterinarian was able to administer the first vaccines calmly and without stress. However, when the technical staff struggled to administer subsequent vaccines, the tone shifted completely. Instead of handling the situation professionally, they blamed me for making an "unusual" request and suggested I was causing unnecessary difficulty. What was most unacceptable was how I was treated personally. The staff spoke to me in a condescending and dismissive way, at one point implying I didn't understand English. I have lived in the United States for 25 years and have worked in professional roles in the tech industry. That comment was both inappropriate and offensive. Between a past failure to catch a basic diagnosis--despite extensive testing--and a recent experience marked by poor communication, lack of professionalism, and disrespect, I cannot recommend this clinic. I strongly encourage others to seek second opinions and advocate for their pets.

This is an emergency room. When was the last time you went to a human emergency room and didn't have to wait more than two hours? The only cases that don't have to wait two hours come by ambulance. This place is utterly amazing. The staff is super professional. They take care of everybody wonderfully and yes, just like all medical whether animal or human, they are desperately understaffed. Let's give a big shout out to these amazing caring professionals Dr. Macy Dr. Akol, Dr. nicki Dr. Lahue, Dr. Kalff Dr Pressel all the doctors I forgot and the best nurses in the entire world. I've been coming here for over 30 years and only receive the best, most attentive, kindest and gracious of care. Folks need to understand how long things take and what the word triage means. I am disgusted reading one star reviews from people with no concept of how much time good thorough animal care takes and how much things cost. An estimate is an estimate they have only ever charged me for what was needed. They are utter professionals, a very highly regarded facility and quite frankly all you people that are sending in one star reviews don't deserve their service or care. I am a seasoned dog owner who has spent many hours and has had many visits to the ER over the years. However this last visit was brutal. We arrived at 830 am and didn't get fully seen and discharged for 12 hours ! 12 hours is insane to make someone with a sick animal wait. At least be up front on check in and say. You are likely looking at 5-6 hour wait. At least that way you can make a call and decide to not put your already sick animal through more stress. I get how triage works. Most pressing cases are seen first. But to have us come back into the exam room several times just to sit and wait for at least an hour or more each time is wild. The tech calls me and ask me if I've left and I say no I'm right outside and by the time I've come in they have forgotten about us and stick us in an exam room only to sit and wait another chunk of time. The vet was lovely and she helped diagnose my dog and set up a treatment plan. That was the only plus.
