So far my ailments had always been diagnosed and treated properly and the correct medications had always been prescribed. Emails to my primary were always responded to. I like the fact I can always ask for a renewed prescription without physically going to an appointment. There is one thing I'm not too happy with. She also does bio-identical hormones and is a big believer in homeopathy, which I love. Based on this, I arranged childcare and planned my day accordingly. When I arrived, I was told the bloodwork had not been ordered and that the office preferred to wait until after the appointment in case additional labs were needed, to avoid a second trip. This was the opposite of what I had been told on the phone and ultimately resulted in the additional trip I was trying to avoid. Had I been told it was simply an oversight, I would have understood. Instead, it was framed as being for my convenience, despite the prior instructions I had received. I cancelled my appointment and will be looking for a new PCP. I hope the office can improve communication so patients receive consistent and accurate information. Edited to add: I am an established patient with this office. While it had been a few years since my last visit, I had previously been seen here and the office assisted me with updating my name. I wanted to clarify this because the response from the office suggests otherwise.

They said, "Fischbeck won't accept any 'new' Medicare patients." They admitted that some of his current patients are on Medicare. They said "We made your appointment by mistake." WAIT, WHAT?!?! I ended up running out of one of my important medications because of their seemingly unyielding Medicare discrimination, and apparent complete lack of any caring about what they were doing to me. I pleaded with them about my need to see Fischbeck, even if only to renew my prescriptions, but they seemed to completely lack any care, empathy, compassion, or understanding. Ironically, those are the very qualities that I want to see in my doctor! ADDENDUM 1/4/2026: Jaron Fischbeck called me this morning. He seemed very intense, defensive, and then argumentative. The rest of the staff has always been courteous and helpful. Every year when Medicare tries to get me to switch, I stay with AIA. Very good place for medical care. They've seen me on short notice a couple times and have a very good scheduling system. I've never experienced "attitude" from any of the employees and as an adult, I appreciate the mutual respect and expectations for common courtesy on both sides. It isn't a widget factory. Sometimes things happen to cause a bit of delay. The care I receive there consistently is first rate! Very thankful for the whole team there.
