This is not always the case nowadays, when many practices use P.A.s and you rarely (if ever) see the actual doctor. She also recommends only the best, most thorough specialists outside her practice so you can be sure you are getting the kind of attention your situation requires. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! They go through doctors like water! They state that you can trust them with your acute medical issues but they are NOT to be trusted. Once your doctor leaves this office no one will refill your prescriptions! And if you have an acute issue like I do, you have to go back and see another doctor even if it's only been a couple of months since your last visit. Apparently there are no other qualified doctors in this office that can read your medical file to assist you. I've been with this office for years and refuse to be treated this poorly. This is not a medical facility if you are looking for long term management of your health. I can't even say they are very reactive to any issues. Instead, you will find that you wait in the lobby for much longer than you are treated. Average wait time for me over the course of two years was about 20-30 minutes past the appointment time. Average time waiting in personal room, another 15 minutes. Average time speaking with "doctor" or nurse practitioner 10 minutes. 30 minutes of waiting and 10 minutes of service. The final straw was being charged 84 dollars to wait 30 minutes (the average) and then 2 minutes to pick up a prescription refill. While many others may have had a better experience, I can not stand for the services and treatment received. Don't keep going to this place if you hate it. YOU HAVE OPTIONS! read more

Nice little practice with friendly staff. Their new office is very nice. The waiting room has a calming effect because of all the tile and plants. They don't do their own blood work but there but there is a Sonoran Quest lab in the same office complex. read more

This is the first medical practice I ever felt writing about. The waiting room is warm and comfortable, the staff is friendly, and most importantly, the doctors are great. I have been seeing Patricia Dietzgen for about 3 years now. She is a no nonsense gal. Both her and her husband look you in the eye and have a conversation with you. They call you by name, and make a point of familiarize themselves with you. I just had some back issues and Mark Dietzgen did acupuncture on me. Hobbled in, and walked out. It was great. Please stay away!! I went for the first time to Ahwatukee Primary care last week and they put me on antibiotics. I wasn't comfortable taking it coz I am feeding my baby and I didn't feel like I had an infection. They said based on the urine analysis, they will change my meds or will advice in 3 days. I called them every day after the 3rd day and was told, they are still waiting for my results. Today is my 8th day after the test and when I called, they say they don't see anything was sent to the lab and they are still discussing!!!! My antibiotic course for 7 days is already over and I will never step here again! read more

Let me just start by saying I used to LOVE this doctors office. And I LOVED Dr. MCCARTHY. she has since left the practice once they were taken over by East Valley Family medical, and I think I can see why. I went in yesterday for the first time since East Valley took over and had to fill out all the insurance forms again even though I've been coming here since 2011, and I had to call my insurance and chance my doctor since their front desk girl now does nothing.... I had to wait 30 minutes past my appointment time even though I seemed to be the only person there and I decided to see dr. Deitzgen since I had seen her a few time in the past when my dr was unavailable. She seemed to be in a hurry and hardly even looked at me while typing things into her computer. She did a quick exam of me and called in a perscribtion to my pharmacy. Never told me what I had or anything and was out the door. I found out upon picking up my perscribtion that I'm receiving a treatment for strep throat and that I am highly contagious. Now I'm waiting for the call center to get in touch with the dr office so I can get a dr nite to go back to work. This will be my last visit with them. I want to add my disappointment in a place that I used to recommend to everyone. read more

Horrible. We were patients for years and after a break because we moved were coming back. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks out and gave them my insurance information (avesis). When I arrived the woman at the front said they haven't been taking the insurance since October. I told her I had driven 20+ miles and taken time off work and had given the person I had made my appointment with my insurance info. Her coworker suggested that they take me, try to bill it and eat the cost if it didn't work because they booked it and it was their error. Btw, avesis still shows them as a provider. The woman didn't like that, asked the doctor and said he would see me if I paid out of pocket and I could try to get it reimbursed later. No thank you. I will never be back. Horrible customer service. I could switch my insurance to go here but I won't. read more

This is the worst care I have received. I was very sick and losing weight rapidly and I saw Michelle Barnett, NP for two appointments. She prescribed me several prescriptions without refills. Additionally I saw the other NP for an appointment that was a complete waste of my time as she was not able to help my situation at all. When I ran low on my prescription my pharmacy sent a refill request. It was not honored. I called Ahwatukee Primary Care and they informed me they do not refill prescriptions with a refill request fax and I would need to come in to see another doctor because Michelle Barnett left the practice. I am very sick without my prescription, but they did not bother to tell me she had left and my prescription remains un-filled. They were not compassionate about me being out of my medication. They didn't have any appointments that work for me (they close early and I do not have childcare), so I am going to another doctor at another practice close by that was able to get me in at an appointment that worked today. I will not return to this practice. read more

Being a patient at this facility haunts me to this day. I was seeing Dr. English with a serious issue and her Assistant Nurse ANNA was always terribly rude and uncaring and it made me very uncomfortable every time I had to visit. Dr. English was nice during the short times I spent with her but I never got the right diagnosis after several visits (I have since through a different doctor). When I called the office one day and asked to leave a message for Dr. English Anna told me very aggressively that she DOES NOT return phone calls. I then called back and asked to speak with the Manager. Dr. Dietz got on the phone and was worse to me than Anna! She spoke to me in an evil tone when I told her of my unhappiness with Anna's treatment of me. I am a professional business woman and was horrified with this organization. I never went back and the situation still bothers me. Be sure to google Dr. English and read other reviews of this office from different sites. I am not the only one who was mistreated and that is more than wrong. read more

Wen't to my appointment with DR. Dietzgen becouse I was experiencing some pain due to arthritis and frozen sholder. I was given a referral for a specialist a Pain Medical rehab DR.. After 3 visits with the specialist I found out that they were not in network. I called Dietzgen's office to find one that was in network. After several calls being told that it was not thier responsabilty it was the Specialist's. I call them and we go back and forth no one wants to take responsibility. I then call my insurance they say that the PCP is responsible,so I call her office again meanwhile this has taken 3 day's,numerous calls and I am in pain and in need of treatment . While I was waiting to hear back from DR.Dietzgen I found on my own a DR-Specialist in network,I notified DR. Dietzgen and she refused to write a referral, that also needed to come from the Specialist that I was seeing that was out of network. Again back and forth between them she finnaly just said she was done with the situation and sent the referal I feel that DR. Dietzgen didn't care about my situation.and didn't do her job correctly. I will no longer use thier services read more

I attempted to make an appointment to get my nose looked at after an auto accident I immidiatly got shut down by Kim who stated they do no see patients after accidents! I asked to speak to practice manager Kim transferred me to a Medical Assistant instead who told me the same thing and stated I needed to go to the urgent care. They jumped to conclusions stating they dont get paid by insurance companies so they dont bother and said i should go to urgent care! I have no health insurance so i was going to pay cash for my one visit no insurance company would have been involved at all! Kim showed no sympathy she just dove right in and gave me a NO. I mean after all i am a patient there she didn't bother to say if i was ok post accident but i guess that's just how much they care! And i was never transferred to the practice manager! Very disgusted. I needed a new primary care physician and chose Dr. McCarthy at this office. No complaints except she seemed to want me to come in more frequently than my other doctors in the past. A little inconvenient. Then she left (quit?) so on my next appointment I saw a physician's assistant. Then she quit too. Next I saw Dr. Patricia Dietzgen. She was rude and kept cutting me off, not wanting to hear my somewhat complex history. On top of that she wanted me to come back TWICE, when in my prior experience one appointment would do. It seems to me they want to double up your appointments to suck more money from you and your insurance company. I told her appointment desk "never mind. I'll just find another doctor". I couldn't believe what happened next. She had the nerve to send me a certified letter telling me that because I was "non-compliant" she would no longer treat me. She had the NERVE to fire me after I had already fired her. Unbelievable! read more
