The Pacific Ave Athletic Complex (PAAC) went up about a month or so ago, and triggered my curiousity after seeing the construction, plus how it's lit up at night while baseball games go on...hmmm...let's check it out. Went there mid morning...here's what I saw... - Ample parking - A man-made lake with rentable gazebo's by it - Nicely kept baseball fields, electronic scoreboards, very tall fence-thingies (sorry, I'm writing this review late at night)...the places to sit were like concrete slabs...but decent! And under some sort of shade -An age appropriate playing area - A shaded snack area (no ATM's, maybe cash only) - Plenty of overhead lights for those night games Reviews on Google say no outside food allowed or they have certain fees...not sure about that. I guess people don't mind as it seems busy on evenings and nights. Yuma needed this so...here it is. Worth checking out.

Lots of options; such as a lazy river and, of course, the tube rides! The lifeguards were on their game; helpful, friendly, and watchful. There was a section for toddlers, and a section everyone could enjoy. Yes, a section for the wet bar as well. They had shaded, seated areas for rent, but we grabbed two free table areas upon arrival. There was a nice mix of music and people, and everyone seemed to get along. Overall; great time. A little bit on the pricey side, but you get your money's worth, especially as the heat rises. Great place to visit and learn about how it became and who are the prisoners and their history (which similar to current ones). How it opened and closed and how it developed through that small period. What you see now is just a portion of the original but you got the picture of how the life in prison back then. The guider was fantastic and he informed us all the infos and the background of all or majority of the prisoners. Definitely quite a place to visit plus this prison would considered the 2nd island prison in the US.

Your always greeted when you arrive and acknowledged when you leave. My complaint and reason for the two stars is cleanliness especially this day in age. Several times I've seen someone cleaning the windows in front of the treadmills but the disgusting state of the treadmills is horrible and never have I seen anyone cleaning the treadmills or any other equipment. Always only the few windows in view of the treadmills, which is the only equipment I use. Sweat, snot, caked in dirt, dust it's just gross. I always go in with my own Clorox wipes clean my machine before and after I use it.

We all know cleanliness is a serious issue due to fungus, bacteria and germs in the women's bathroom which I've mentioned to the staff several times, especially regarding the showers. There was a Band-Aid in the first shower on the left on the pull out seat for over six weeks. It was very obvious to see it which means No one was cleaned that shower for six weeks!!! There were some long black hairs in the other shower, which I slid underneath the mat just to see if anyone pulled it up to clean I went back several times in two weeks and the hairs are still under the shower mat which means no one's cleaned it for over two weeks!! I've mentioned these to the staff and the manager, and nothing has been done yet except to inform me that I'm no longer welcome there since I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness of the bathrooms.
