This place has gone downhill from 19 years ago when I first started coming here when Gail was the owner. They penalize $4 for using a card. They have signs on everything with so many rules and regulations. So dirty. There's junk piled up everywhere. Steve can cut hair but he's not a good businessman. I have been going to Foothills Barber shop for a few years, the haircuts are very consistent and well done. As for me, an old guy, I find it entertaining to see the decorative shop, brings back memories! I could not imagine trying to run a shop in this market place where I see cut throat and inaccurate ratings given by competing shops. I had to wait an hour and forty-five minutes to listen to this long winded douch talk about meaningless noncence for 52 min and ended up with like I said a mediocre at best haircut. I've tried at two occasions to get a haircut here. Turned down twice. Arrived 20 minutes before closing and they said no. 2nd time on a Sunday when they opened, they asked if I had an appointment, again No. I guess it wasn't meant to be to pay $40 for a hair cut. read more

I did not even get a haircut!! I walked in, signed in. the lady came and said c'mon have a seat. I said I have one question before I have a seat. Does this shop charge to use my bank card, she said yeah its only .83 cents but cash is better. I left. If stores here in Albuquerque are going to start charging me to use my bank card, I will not spend my money there! no signs stating the additional charge? They have stated its a convenience fee? That just tells you right there that they do not know what to call it because that is not a convenience for the customer? read more

Went in this morning and the Mexican lady messed up my fade and this huge chunk of hair missing where a line was suppose to be. Jesus fixed what he could with the fade, there's no hope for that line. Looks like I'll be combing my hair the opposite way until it grows back. read more

Extremely sharp decline over the last 6 months . Rude a unprofessional staff. Always late to open now. On my last visit the only barber willing to cut my hair was late and choose to blow hair around her station for 10 min before I had to ask of she was working. She said "yea" and turned right back around and kept blowing hair I guess, so I just left. Avoid this place. It is crazy how fast they went downhill. read more

I like it. My man has been getting his hair cut here since we moved into our no e here in ABQ, and I finally went with him last week. Clean space, good waiting area, nice staff. I joked with the guy cutting his hair, and he joked right back. Much better than when they give you a blank stare and act like you are speaking Chinese... We went next door for bagels after, and the guy was outside as we left later. Didn't ignore us, wished us a nice day and was generally nice. Plus, they do a great job on the old man's noggin. Just had the worst haircut here. I should have known it would be bad when there were a bunch of people waiting but no one going to the older lady in the back. I signed in and she called me back right away. She basically did the opposite of what I asked for and when I came home my wife was shocked at how bad the back of my head looked (I already hated the rest but didn't see the back, just wanted to get out of there). I've had good haircuts at this shop before from the big guy with the beard but it's such a crap shoot who you'll get that I'll never go back. read more

Not to mention the day before I went, they closed at 6 and I was there at 5:45 to make an appointment for the next day and it was already locked and they stared at me until I went away. Visiting from Arizona/Ca and needed a haircut. Two military gentlemen were in chairs mostly buzz cut and bare scalp. I wanted a trim and tapered in back. My hair is over the ears, but not long. The lady said "taper", OK and broke out the electric clippers. Zip zip and I was near bald in strips from collar to a couple of inches from crown. Yikes. Too late. Heck. It will grow out. And instead of walking around me, it was twist me right, spin me left, right, left. I was about to barf. Anyway, getting some sun and wind in the back now. Be careful and explicit.
