Hmm. Went today to get my haircut here. I went one time here there was this one man who cut my hair. He was a very friendly genuine person. He took time and effort to cut my hair and make me look nice. Went in today for a cut and the guy that did it wasn't friendly to begin with. I told the guy i wanted a razor fade he was like "you got it". I sat there while he clipped me i asked him if he could even it out with my beard. Did a horrible job on my beard. In the end i was being polite and i paid $45 for that trainwreck. 20 for the haircut 10 for destroying my beard. And $15 for a tip because im not a .... On top of all that the guy never even gave me a razor fade. I didnt speak on it cause i honestly didnt trust him with a razor around me. Careful with the skinny white guy. The big guy and old man are good(from what i can see. I never been cut by either one. The guy that gave me a fresh cut was no longer employed there). Avoid the other dude at all costs. So i left and i was looking in my car mirror and i was like nahhhh this dude made me look silly. Went back and the owner Rj pretty sure his name was a big dude "touched it up" but at that point it was gone. After homeboy had his way with me i walked out of their looking like sloth from the goonies. I left dissatisfied to say the least. After stairing in the mirror for a while i decided to shave it all off. A few tears later i fixed my beard into a goatee. Rocking that breaking bad look now. Thanks for the cut G. Also as you can see i can rock anything and make it look good. Except for that bum haircut. Nice try though. That last pic where my haircut is clean you see? The dude you got rid of did that for me. Bro did me right. Gave him a fat tip. Sucks you got rid of him he was quality. I woulda took a picture of what your guy did to me but i was to embarrased. Why you replaced a perfectly good barber with that disaster? I have no idea. read more

Went in off a friends recommendation. I called and asked if they took walk-ins they said yes and even asked when I would be in and I told them within the hour. I go In and there's one old-timer in the chair asking me if I had an appointment, I told him no that I had called before. He said he had an appointment and another guy with a waxed mustache came out of the back. This guy said he would cut my hair and I overheard he had an appointment.(I don't have any problem with waiting). This guy gives me a low 0 gentleman's cut like I asked but didn't blend one of the sides.....he rushed through the cut because his appointment came through, he was an old timer and I never let old timers cut my hair. I have to go to a wedding this Saturday and my hair is messed up. Really disappointed to say the least as a friend recommended it. read more

Been going to Randy's for over 30 years. I started going when it was Randy and Floyd. Anyway, Randy is still a great barber, if you have the time and patience to wait for him. I don't know about the big guy, never gave him a chance. The shop, overall, has not changed one bit in the many years I have been going. To his credit, the bigger guy well-handled a difficult conversation, but this was an exercise in dealing with an unapologetically unprofessional staff. I made a first time appointment for my niece and I at 3:30 pm. I call at 3:19 pm to inform that we'd arrive a little late. We arrive at 3:40 pm. I am greeted at the door with smiles until I announced that I was there for the 3:30 pm appointment and apologized for being late. I note that I called to let them know, but received no answer. This was when pretense of courtesy was dropped. I was told, paraphrasing, "We didn't receive your call. But you're late. We have 30 min appointments and I don't want to cut into the next person's time." I showed both men that I had called. We reached an understanding that tech doesn't always work, so I asked should I stay or should I go? (twice)" I'm told to leave, so I leave. Everything would have been fine except as I'm leaving, I hear the larger man tell the older man that he's refusing service because of my attitude. Apparently, he didn't like they way I asked whether I should stay or go. So I re-enter and we begin to have a difficult conversation. Unfortunately, there was no satisfying conclusion. But it ended with everything being my fault because the older guy doesn't give anyone attitude...and the larger guy reiterated multiple times that he can refuse service for whatever reasons he wants. That's cool, but this was totally unavoidable had both men acted in a professional capacity. Please do not spend money here. read more

I wasn't happy with my first haircut here but I kept returning because the Yelp reviews were good. I always left disappointed. The barbers here can't cut my hair in a way that works for my head shape. They always shave the back too high, give me a crooked line thats also shaved up too high, and they give me the worst tapering I've ever seen. The entire right side of my hair is too short, so my hair on the left rests on top of it and creates a strange shape. There are weird dips and ridges in the shape of my hair when it's styled because the tapering is inconsistent. Would not recommend. read more

I'm writing this review from my girlfriend's phone because I don't have the Yelp app, however, after my awesome experience at Randy's, I considered downloading just to give my thanks. I flew into town for a wedding and needed a haircut. I'm someone who takes a lot of pride in their hair, and I was kicking myself for not getting it done before I flew to NM. The feelings of regret were mounting as I was looking for a barber online that I could take a chance with, knowing that I would probably be disappointed no matter what I chose. After a short deliberation, I chose Randy's and gave them a call to set up an appointment. Upon arrival, I was greeted warmly by Randy himself and my soon-to-be barber, RJ. I let RJ know I was looking for a mid razor-skin fade and showed him a picture of a haircut I had had in the past. RJ answered with confidence that he's got me, and then we began. RJ gave me the history of Randy's. Little did I know, this place is an institution! Been a barber shop for 50 years and owned by Randy for almost all 50. These guys know their stuff. Just by the way RJ started the fade, I knew I was in good hands. His attention to detail and precise work really blew me away. Flying in from Scottsdale, AZ where I usually pay between $40-$50 for a hair cut, RJ's craftsmanship exceeded my expectations and for a very fair price. It's now the day after the wedding and I was getting compliments on my fade the whole night. Can't thank RJ enough for the great work. I've been using Randy's for years. Sometimes I have had to wait for my turn but well worth it for the service. He remembers the way I want my hair even if I only make it in once a month. He is always there with a friendly smile and will joke with you if the situation arises. Profanity is not allowed in the shop so it makes for a nice place to take the youth. The shop is kept clean and neat even when a backlog of customers are sitting waiting. I find it very odd of all the reviews I could find only found one that gave the shop a very poor review. I bet he got exactly the cut he asked for as all the guys there listen to what you ask for before starting and will ask to make sure they understood your directions. I'd highly recommend Randy's for your next haircut. read more

My husband had a hair emergency after another barber took a weed Wacker to his head. Randy not only took him in, 5 minutes to close, but he worked MAGIC. Very cheap, excellent quality. But the atmosphere was the best part. That old time manly barber shop you don't see any more, it's a throw back in the best way. They seem to have interesting conversation that I imagine goes on all day. Great personalities, great humor. Awesome job. They made a custom for life today. read more

HORRIBLE!!! I went in the other day to get a nice haircut. I showed the guy a picture of EXACTLY what I wanted, and on top of that my hair was cut about a week and a half before that so it was all lined out already, and he still COMPLETELY CHANGED MY HAIR!!!!! So I needed a haircut and this place has good reviews. It's next door to my wife's favorite nails place so I'd seen it before. The sign says walk-ins welcome. Anyone that's complaining about America losing her past and how strange and bad things have become, needs only to visit this shop to understand that there are still real American originals still happily doing business in traditional and pleasing ways. It's a four chair shop, I was seated in an old time chair the minute I walked in. RJ, my barber, asked what kind of cut I wanted. I have pretty straight forward taste in haircuts so after a brief discussion, he got it going. He's very skilled with electric clippers and did most of the cut using two different machines then finished up with a straight razor on my neck and sideburns. I wasn't keeping time but he was finished pretty quickly. A quick look in the mirror and I was convinced I had a good cut. I was able to pay with my plastic card, gave RJ a fair tip and was on my way...I'm guessing thirty minutes max. The cut looked good this morning after being washed. Yes I will be back. Pleasant environment, good cut, reasonable time taken, very friendly prices...plenty of parking places too. West side of Wyoming just north of the Honda motorcycle dealer and next door to a great nails shop that will happily do a men's pedicure. There's an interesting looking New Mexican Restaurant across the street too...maybe next time. read more

This place was great! It was real busy the whole time i was there, lunch hour when I got there so I assumed that contributed but a couple regulars that I takes to said it stayed consistently busy. The "shop talk" was great, entertaining, knowledgeable, and fun. AJ did my hair, he was extremely detailed and friendly, you could easily tell that he enjoyed his job. When we lived in Albuquerque for 10 years this is the only place my husband and son would get their haircuts. The barbers are so meticulous and precise and there is such consistency. We met Randy in 1975 or thereabouts; he cut our sons' and my husband 's hair for many years. Sons left home , husband and I moved for a while to another state. Then about 4 or 5 years ago, son Drew and family came for a visit and looked up Randy again. He knew who Drew was, invited him into a chair and gave him a perfect haircut. While Randy was cutting Drew's son' hair and my husband, Wm. ,Drew drove home and got me, we had a wonderful reunion! This is hands down the best barber shop I've ever been to. My first trip was nearly two years ago. Every time I come the barbers are friendly, and no matter who does the work it's always done to perfection. There are four chairs here and they stay full. Razor fades are excellent. I haven't had a shave but think about it every time I come. I don't go anywhere else for a cut. Be prepared to wait. It's never terribly long, but even if it was, it would be worth it. read more
