He very clearly knows what he's doing and his attention to detail and skills were definitely legit. It resulted in probably the best cut I've ever had. We are so excited that Alyce is now working here as a barber! Alyce cuts my husband's hair and trims his beard. Basically - she's a genius! I've actually worked in a barber school so I've seen barbers of various skills but Alyce is the one that does the absolute best job on my husband! I can not recommend her enough! Her hours are Tuesday-Saturday but if you are desperate, she'll do appointments on Sunday and Monday too! She's really popular so I highly recommend calling ahead of time and making an appointment. I always call (505) 908-5150 to make my appointments. Not sure if that is her direct number or the shop number. It should also be mentioned that she's meticulous about clean lines and sanitation too. Had a barber there correct a butchered haircut that I got a week ago at Great Clips (Lousy Clips more like it). Thankfully she was able to correct all of the errors of that haircut and make my hair look presentable and decent for work and for my honeymoon. I will come back and use her again. This is a great shop. Alyce Herrera gave my four little guys a awesome haircut to start their summer vacation off. Good thing I got in early, she has a great following. She spent individual time with each of my boys, which was impressive that she gave them that kind of attention. Most people would just focus on the parent, but she took time to include their input. I went in for a two on the side, with a taper. Had really long hair on top, and told dude not to touch the top. Dru has been cutting my sons hair for awhile now and he always does an amazing job! My son used to HATE getting his hair cut and other places weren't very patient with him, but Dru was great and he helped my son become totally comfortable with getting his hair cut. Scheduling is easy, I can usually get in the same day or the next day and the entire staff is so friendly - they even offer us a quarter for the candy machine when we go. I had an appointment for 10 am. I showed up at 9:55 am. Someone asked me if I had an appointment after I came in and sat down, and I said yes and it was for 10 am. At 10:08 I stood up and walked out. What is the point of making an appointment if it will not be honored? At a minimum someone could have said they would be with me in a minute. We loved this place. We are fairly new to the area and have been looking for a place to take our 4 and 8 year old boys. Upon entering, we were greeted right away and even had two open chairs for the boys. Drew and Alyse cut the boy's hair and even put zig-zags on their side as requested! Dapper Barber Parlour is a great place to get a haircut. I'm originally from Albuquerque but I have been living in Orange County California for years. Recently, I was in Albuquerque for a wedding and realized I was long due for a haircut. I thought I'd just go to the barber that used to cut my dad's hair. I won't mention the name of this 4th St. barber but suffice to say I was not treated like a valued customer. The barber barely looked up and didn't even acknowledge me when I walked in. I wasn't impressed and decided that I'd find another barber. I looked on Yelp and found that Dapper Barber Parlour had a good rating and it was close to my mother's house. My experience was completely different at Dapper Barber Parlour. The second I walked through the door Dominic Candelaria greeted me with, "Hey boss! How can I help you". I didn't have an appointment but Dominic said he can fit me in after he finishes with his current client. He was very friendly and did an excellent job cutting my hair. I was impressed how meticulous he was. My hair is naturally curly and it's difficult to cut evenly but he did it perfectly. Before I give a review on Yelp I like to visit a place at least twice just to make sure my service was typical. A month after my first visit I was in Albuquerque again so I returned to Dapper Barber. I was not disappointed. Once again I was greeted again by Dominic and another barber as soon as I walked in the door. Dominic was able to fit me in without an appointment again. He didn't recognize me from the first visit but when I told him I was from California he remembered me and we picked up our conversation from the month before. It was a great experience. If I could afford it I'd fly out to Albuquerque every month just to get a haircut from Dominic at Dapper Barber Parlour. read more
