Visiting from out of town and had issues with my car overheating. I'd previously taken it to a mechanic back home and they'd been unable to diagnose any problem. Glenn's team was able to solve the issue (a conductor to the fan) in around an hour (with no charge for the initial diagnostic work). Dropped my car off first thing in the morning and it was ready for me to pick up by midday. The charge was reasonable and he did not try to upsell me on any unnecessary fixes. He was also very welcoming and had fresh drinks stocked in the waiting room as well as offered me a ride a home so I wouldn't have to wait for my car at the shop itself. I have been taking my cars to Glenn at Foothill Auto Service for many years now. I'm not going to give too much BS here but the fact is that this is the BEST PLACE FOR AUTO SERVICE IN SOUTH ORANGE COUNTY BAR NONE!! Here is an example why I only go to Foothill Auto Service with all of my vehicles. Brought my 2001 Lexus to him with a bad gas oder and check engine light. I have a code reader and it said I had a vacuum issue. Now this car is old and still runs great but I was worried this may be the last straw for this car. Glenn checked it out, gave me an estimate to replace a fuel sensor/ valve and all would be good. Picked up the car and after about 10 miles the check engine light came back on. Brought the car back to Glenn and he was very apologetic. He said he will find out what is wrong and fix it quickly. And yes he did find the issue and fixed it- NO CHARGE!! He further apologized for the error not fixing it on the original inspection. This was incredible as I would not expect this and offered to still pay for the service. Glenn refused and said they should have looked further and this was their fault. After picking up the car I am blown away how well this 17 year old car runs. It is running better than it has in more than 5 years as I am sure he fixed an issue that has been going on for some time now. I know Glenn is the most honest, trustworthy mechanic/ auto repair owner I have ever met. This is the place you can send your wife or daughter and not feel they have might be taken advantage of ( if they are not auto repair savvy). Glenn and Cindy are as honest and hard-working as they come! I took my 2006 Toyota Tacoma with 240,000 miles on it to 4 different mechanics BEFORE finally going to Foothill Auto Service. My truck was convulsing and having ceizures (as I like to call it) around 40 - 60 mph and nobody knew what it was. I even replaced the driveshaft because one of those mechanics said that was the problem. Nope, didn't fix it. BUT when I went to Foothill Auto, Glenn said I may just need to get the transmission flushed. I was highly skeptical about that, but felt like I had exhausted all other options, so I agreed to do that. Voila! Much to my amazement, that was it!! I took our vehicle to Glenn to replace the rotators, four brakes and tie rod, only to be told that the front brakes and tie rod needed to be replaced. These guys are amazing. Took my car to them because it wouldn't start. They even gave me a ride back home. Glenn called me back later in the day and told me I needed a new engine. Gave me a price and I decided it wasn't worth it to fix my car, after we talked about it. He let me keep my car there for a couple of days while a tow truck came to take it away. Glenn even gave me advice on the scrap yard I sold it to. When I went to get my stuff out of my car they gave me another ride home and Christian even carried my stuff up the stairs for me. read more

I took my Hyundai here for a leaking head gasket, and water pump and they handled all of the claims through my extended warranty company, did not inflate prices, and explained everything that was happening with my car repairs every step of the way. WARNING - DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO FOOTHILL AUTO SERVICE, they overcharge for repairs and don't stand by their work. They will claim your car is fixed, but they didn't actually do the work. I was charged over $1,000 for a brake job, and then four month later, I had to take my car into another mechanic to get the rotors done because it was shaking so violently when going downhill. The new repair place said the rotors had never been done. I asked Glenn for reimbursement for the rotor work I had to have done, he said he would get back to me, but he never did. If you are a woman, please don't take your car to this repair shop, it is a total ripoff. I am reporting them to the Better Business Bureau and to AAA. read more

This place is the absolute best. The owner, Glenn, went way above and beyond when he took my car to the place I bought my tires from, because they wouldn't give me credit for the defective ones. I was referred to Foothill Auto and went for an issue on my steering/axle (clicking noise) and a regular oil change. Glenn called me and explained what was the issue and solution for issue. He quoted me on phone. When he fixed the problem, he called me with news that it still hadn't fixed it completely. He went above and beyond, to fix the noise and prevent from happening again.
