ZERO stars. They mail out 50% off coupons to lure people in so that they can sell you unnecessary services and items while simultaneously messing up your car. Which then results in you spending more money and time to go elsewhere to correct all the mistakes they caused in order to get your car to work properly again. 50% off for an oil change came out to be about $80. That's WITH the 'coupon'. Usually, the cost of my oil change is about $100 elsewhere. Yep, they will first drastically inflate their price, then apply the pseudo discount. I know. I'm a sucker. I was already there and figured I'll ignore this nonsense and just pay up out of convenience. I needed an oil change regardless, and just wanted it to be done. Big mistake. They already showed they were sketchy but I was too lazy to drive to another place. What happened next further confirmed their complete lack of integrity and honesty. One person tried selling me tires but clammed up immediately as soon as I told him I just replaced them 2 years ago. It's not like I'm driving around the country to wear them out that fast. But let's get to the technician. I see the name Johan Gutierrez on my invoice. I'm not sure if that's the technician that worked on my car or if that's the name of the person up front who typed up my invoice. The technician claimed my oil filter cap was cracked and couldn't be opened without him breaking. I would have to buy a new one (metal) for $80. He blamed the previous place that did the oil change for over tightening the cap. I declined. I didn't trust them and was going to get a second opinion from my mechanic ( they were not the ones who did my previous oil change). This was who I should have gone to in the first place. I thought they were closed that day that's why I didn't go to them and went to Big O Tires instead. That was my mistake. After the Big O Tires visit my car's alert system shows: Check engine oil Check oil filter Well, that's not good. I go see my mechanic. I tell him what happened and what the supposed issues were. They take my car back to assess. He comes back, appalled. Shaking his head but assures me my car is ok. * person placed the wrong size oil filter * Nothing was wrong with my oil filter cap * Didn't change the drain plug and the washer like how a reputable place would when doing an oil change-It doesn't cost them much to change it. It's just laziness and negligence. * He left the washer off completely! Causing oil to leak. Also, my tires were fine and did not need to be replaced. No surprise there. Neither my name or address are correct on the invoice despite me spelling everything out. They didn't even bother to reset my dash or replace the oil change reminder sticker on the windshield. read more

It seems like all the previous technicians that operated this shop no longer work here, een taking my Tacoma to this place for 5 years, never had a an issue until the last year of so called service. The last service I had done by them today, July 5th, 2026 was for a simple oil change. 5 hours later I pick my truck up and the front desk technician who couldn't explain how it happened proceeded to tell me the reason it took 5 hours to complete an oil change was that the servicing technician that worked on my truck managed to "accidentally" drain my transmission fluid instead of the oil. This is but the final nail in the coffin on the long list of items this store and it's mildly trained technicians have messed up on my work truck. I could have paid the same amount and gone to the jiffy lube around the corner and only waited 20 minutes. Avoid this shop like the plague. read more

It's crystal clear that the techs don't read invoices much. They were asked them not to use impact tools especially for tightening, and watched them use them for remove and reinstall. What's the point of telling them something if the techs are going to ignore the work order... also didn't see them use a torque wrench either, just 3 ugga duggas from the impact. When questioned, they lied at first then owned up to the manager and admitted they didn't follow the work order. Despite multiple back n forth, still was charged full price, not even a sorry we could have messed up your stuff by not listening small percentage off. read more

They just permanently damaged our one-year-old new car tire and they blamed us for the damage, saying that we tried to fix it before taking it in and damaged it which isn't true. They take no responsibility for their action. The manager was rude, speaking over my husband and raising his voice to intimidate him. They offered to sell us an overpriced new tire, then refused to take our credit card and were pushy about cash. We obviously didn't buy it from there. We went to another shops, and of course, they told us what we already knew, that they damaged our tire and were blaming us. We got the tire from the second shop for a lot cheaper. We're filing a Better Business Bureau complaint and reaching out to corporate for damaging our tire and not taking responsibility. I posted this experience on the Lake Forest Facebook group as well as Nextdoor and got all these responses. Take a good look at all the screenshots I posted. I normally get my wheels and tires balanced and rotated at the Aliso Viejo Big O' Tires location. They've always taken great care of me, been honest, and -- most importantly -- never scratched my aftermarket wheels. That's exactly why I've been loyal to Big O' Tires over their competitors. My setup isn't anything special (285/70/17), and all I ever need is a simple balance and rotation. Today, since the Lake Forest location is closer to home, I decided to give them a try after the old weight tapes fell off. I called and spoke with Mac, who told me to bring my car in and that the wait would be about 45 minutes. When I arrived, Mac told me the service would cost $120. I was surprised and asked why. He explained it was because they needed to use weight tapes -- something I'm very familiar with from working in the industry 26-27 years ago. Using weight tape is standard for certain wheels and not a justification for nearly doubling the price. I stepped outside and called the Aliso Viejo shop, who confirmed their price is $69. Armed with that information, I went back in and asked Mac why he was charging almost double. His response: "Why, what are the other shops charging?" When I told him, he said, "Fine, I'll do it for $69." At that point, I declined. If the first price you give me is an inflated one, that's a deal-breaker. I told him he was being dishonest, and I left. Good luck with that business model, Mac -- but you won't be upcharging me. I'll gladly stick with the honest team in Aliso Viejo. I had a bad experience and do not recommend this place. I had to take my car the very next day to someone else to get my tires fixed. This place crumpled up the foam in one of my tires and told me I would need a replacement tire and they only balanced and rotated 2 of my tires. They were just trying to sell me new tires when I didn't need them. Oh and they put the wrong year of my car and their receipt and no license number probably so they could say it's a different car that I brought in. read more

A few weeks ago one of my front tires of my car went flat, I had that tire replaced at a nearby Discount Tire but did not have a great experience dealing with them...lucky me I had another flat late last week and decided to go to this Big O to get a new one. My entire experience dealing with this Big O was a breeze, Mac helped me to place an order for the type of tire I needed and told me how much it would cost and let me say it was much more affordable than the tire I got from Discount Tire! BEWARE THEY ARE SCAMMERS! If I could give 0 or negative stars I would they have absolutely no integrity. My friend went here because her car was being strange and when they checked out her car they told her they needed to fix the suspension so they gave her an estimate and while they felt it was a lot for what they were fixing she agreed because she commutes to school everyday and need a car she can rely on not only did they end up over charging her and not giving a proper invoice or any documentation that is valid but they actually also didn't finish the job and let her drive away in a car with no bolt in the suspension and caused her car to be misalignment and as well as extremely dangerous to drive, she had to go to a whole different place to figure out what was even wrong with her car because when she told the mechanic that worked on her car they told her it was just loose bolts but in reality it was a whole bolt missing in an integral part of her car, she had to miss multiple days of school and get her car towed twice which ended up being way more money than you could imagine as well as the fact that they never one apologized or even took accountability all she asked for was a refund on the service since they didn't do it right and it ended up being way more than what she paid for and all she wanted was accountability and a refunded and they refused to give her the refund which they should do and they should consider themselves lucky she's isn't calling the better business bureau on this business because they are horrible!! I came to Big O for an oil change and a brake check partially because of the coupon I received in the mail. Frankly I was a little disappointed because the service advisor recommended several expensive items such as new tires, brake drum work, and new struts, even though my car is good shape per his assessment. I did let them work on the rear brake as it is a safety concern. I told him I would go have lunch and be back in 2 hours as I have an appointment in the afternoon. I was assured the car would be ready when I come back. Well, it was not. I waited another hour before the work was completed. The worst part is I had to go back after I drove away because the check tire pressure warning came on after about 10 minutes and the vehicle information screen still shows it at 40%. The manager assured me all work were completely as they should, and all they had to do was to reset the computer. Frankly it does not give me the warm & fuzzy. So I probably will go somewhere else the next time. read more
