I needed to find a new massage therapist so I tried this place. I get frequent massages. This place…read moreis not a spa atmosphere, just a place with a few rooms. The massage table was not very comfortable. I booked a hot stone massage. I got a 60 min massage that I had to do face down and only got my back and legs done. I had to say several times that what he was doing to my legs was very uncomfortable. I got a trigger point massage (which was OK but not what I booked) The back massage was good. Never got the hot stones because he didn't like them. I have had very good hot stone massages before. He used hot towels instead

My experiences at Indulge Spa have been excellent, thanks to Greg…read more Greg is a truly extraordinary massage therapist. I am still trying to understand how it is that his way of doing massage works so marvelously well. Part of it, upon reflection, must be due to his seemingly endless reserves of stamina, and even more so, to his robust and unwavering strength. Because he does not struggle, at any time, to do the work, because he does not tire, does not weaken, he can apply whatever needs to be done with his unique, gentle precision. I've had clinicians struggle with their hands, knuckles, fingertips, even use their elbows, and so on, and when that happens, they lose the feel for the work, and the massage is rather less effective. Bruises occur as a side-effect, as well, which brings me to another thing I don't understand about Greg: His gentleness. Greg has a way of releasing the tension in the body with no sense whatsoever of drama. I do not experience a flutter or a fight, or really almost anything, except the awareness that, in a matter of a dozen seconds, my aching, clenched muscle has relaxed, has been set free of the prison it set for itself. I leave with less stress, physical and emotional, and I sleep far better (as reflected in my overnight HRV readings, as well), and I function with greater patience and clarity the next day, during which I also find that I am not bruised or even tender anywhere. I am, simply, more myself, because I no longer carry the unwanted tension I was burdened with for so long, tension that curtailed some substantial portion of my thoughts and my feelings. I think I may have repeated myself; I think that Greg's strength is one key to his gentleness. While others do everything they can to be strong enough, Greg is already far more than strong enough, so he can focus instead on being gently effective. The remarkable thing is, is that he does focus on exactly that, and that through such means he performs his work so very, very well. Greg's compassion is extraordinary, even among massage therapists. What further surprised me is that his acumen in the realm of anatomy not only informed his massage, but that Greg uses his knowledge to enhance my kinesthetic awareness, discussing with me some of the things I could do differently that might help. Greg's mastery of physical form and function is greater than that of any physical therapist I have worked with, and I've had a few good ones. Here, too, Greg is helping me, even outside of the clinic, to live my life more as I wish to be able to. Greg is a dedicated and gifted massage therapist, and much more, besides. I'd follow him anywhere, because a genuinely great massage therapist is hard to find -- I've looked.

On 12/2, I texted to confirm an hour before and she said that time didn't work. We rescheduled to 12/6 and I texted her when I arrived. She responded that she had already gone home for the day. Unfortunately I have been experiencing significant neck pain and was really looking forward to getting some relief. I also rearranged my schedule to make these appointments work and both were cancelled with little or no notice. She is in the process of refunding my remaining sessions, but the experience has been a waste of time and energy. Wanted to post in case you are looking to give this place as a gift. This place is interesting…read more I can't say I have left here disappointed. If you're looking for a well-appointed, modern, perfectly-decorated-to-the-nines type of place, this ain't it. If you are looking for a place to get some good body work done, well, this is the place. I have had a couple of Swedish massages here, and they were great. In fact, I'd say they were one of the better places in town for this. Now, let me tell you about the energy massage. I booked one not really knowing what it was, and it definitely was not anything like I was expecting. You have to have an open mind, because if you don't it will feel little more like someone waving their hands in front of your face to soothe your pains. I have to admit that I felt very relaxed after the massage, if not just as much as a standard hands-on massage, but it didn't cure all that ailed me. One of the things I love about this place is that I can book online, and usually get same-day appointments. Also, they have frequent Groupons and deals so you can get a good discount on a massage. So, I guess I could say this is a great place for getting a massage, and if you have an open mind, it could be even better.

The first massage I had was okay, the pressure wasn't deep enough even though I asked for more pressure, but the overall experience was fine. The therapist was professional and punctual. The second massage I had there was a waste of money and time. The therapist looked like she didn't want to be there and even though I arrived a few minutes early, she sat at the front desk answering calls for the first five minutes of my 60-min massage. I only got 45 minutes of my allotted time and she spent way too much time on myofascial release. I didn't feel any more relaxed than when I came in. I got the feeling she didn't care about her job or her clients. The facilities are alright. It's a converted office building and it's very obvious that the rooms weren't renovated. The walls are thin, so you can hear everyone walking in the halls and talking. The windows are covered with dark brown drapes and there's random furniture in the rooms. However, the massage tables are okay and the rooms are kept nice and warm. The receptionist is really nice and saved this place from getting a 1-star review. She's very personable and always greets you with a smile. She's quick at getting clients checked in and out. Overall, pretty crappy. There a lot of massage places in Madison that are way better than this place.
