I've been there four times and have felt better when I leave. They will ask before touching in certain places.

I needed to find a new massage therapist so I tried this place. I get frequent massages. This place…read moreis not a spa atmosphere, just a place with a few rooms. The massage table was not very comfortable. I booked a hot stone massage. I got a 60 min massage that I had to do face down and only got my back and legs done. I had to say several times that what he was doing to my legs was very uncomfortable. I got a trigger point massage (which was OK but not what I booked) The back massage was good. Never got the hot stones because he didn't like them. I have had very good hot stone massages before. He used hot towels instead

My experiences at Indulge Spa have been excellent, thanks to Greg…read more Greg is a truly extraordinary massage therapist. I am still trying to understand how it is that his way of doing massage works so marvelously well. Part of it, upon reflection, must be due to his seemingly endless reserves of stamina, and even more so, to his robust and unwavering strength. Because he does not struggle, at any time, to do the work, because he does not tire, does not weaken, he can apply whatever needs to be done with his unique, gentle precision. I've had clinicians struggle with their hands, knuckles, fingertips, even use their elbows, and so on, and when that happens, they lose the feel for the work, and the massage is rather less effective. Bruises occur as a side-effect, as well, which brings me to another thing I don't understand about Greg: His gentleness. Greg has a way of releasing the tension in the body with no sense whatsoever of drama. I do not experience a flutter or a fight, or really almost anything, except the awareness that, in a matter of a dozen seconds, my aching, clenched muscle has relaxed, has been set free of the prison it set for itself. I leave with less stress, physical and emotional, and I sleep far better (as reflected in my overnight HRV readings, as well), and I function with greater patience and clarity the next day, during which I also find that I am not bruised or even tender anywhere. I am, simply, more myself, because I no longer carry the unwanted tension I was burdened with for so long, tension that curtailed some substantial portion of my thoughts and my feelings. I think I may have repeated myself; I think that Greg's strength is one key to his gentleness. While others do everything they can to be strong enough, Greg is already far more than strong enough, so he can focus instead on being gently effective. The remarkable thing is, is that he does focus on exactly that, and that through such means he performs his work so very, very well. Greg's compassion is extraordinary, even among massage therapists. What further surprised me is that his acumen in the realm of anatomy not only informed his massage, but that Greg uses his knowledge to enhance my kinesthetic awareness, discussing with me some of the things I could do differently that might help. Greg's mastery of physical form and function is greater than that of any physical therapist I have worked with, and I've had a few good ones. Here, too, Greg is helping me, even outside of the clinic, to live my life more as I wish to be able to. Greg is a dedicated and gifted massage therapist, and much more, besides. I'd follow him anywhere, because a genuinely great massage therapist is hard to find -- I've looked.

Sundara is a unique place. Love all of the relaxation areas, and the pools. Appreciate how there is…read moreno phone use allowed, it is a nice reminder to take a break in general. Also like the "spa voices" intention...unfortunately not many follow it at the pools. Try to sit by fountains if you don't like to hear people yammer on. The "wear your robe" concept is cool too, you really do not need to bring many clothes! Nava was just fine, thought it would be fancier and more crowded. Rooms are nice, loved having a fake fireplace. The crew generally is great throughout. I had a terrific massage by Kathy; when I return, I will definitely ask for her. The room rate for one night was astronomical for a weekend in Oct, but it was awesome how I could use the amenities early on the day I checked in, and the day I checked out.

Underwhelming is the word to describe our recent experience at Sundara. We booked an overnight for…read moreour 30th anniversary and for the price we were overall very disappointed. I give 2 stars because the rooms were spacious and the beds and pillows were comfortable. Aside from that, the deck and pool was dirty, littered with pine needles and leaves and had not been swept in probably weeks before our arrival, we had to clean it up before we could even go out and use it. The pool had a big pile of dirt/debris in one corner and was so heavily chlorinated that we could still smell the chlorine on our skin two days later after multiple showers. The food was absolutely terrible and they automatically add 20% gratuity to everything and it was ridiculously overpriced to begin with. We paid over $80 for two non-alcoholic drinks, a tiny little cup of store bought Guacamole with stale Chips straight out of a bag and a shared dessert. For a luxury hotel, they need to do better, food should be homemade and of good quality. I had to send my first drink back because it was brown We ordered room service the next day, French Toast and Potatoes and aside from being ice cold, it was completely unappetizing. Plain white bread, brown filling and rotten berries on top. And once again 20% gratuity added Oh and forget about peace and relaxation, all we could hear was lawnmowers and weed whacking going on in the background the entire time we were soaking in the private tub trying to enjoy the view of the trees advertised in the picture online, half of which are now dead. Overall, this was not what we signed up for. The price we paid does not reflect the quality of the experience they are giving back. The place is outdated, the chef is probably old and needs to retire. They give you cheap Twinings tea, ice mountain water and a crappy cup of coffee in the morning and are trying to pass themselves off as a luxury brand resort at luxury prices. It's not working. I'm sad we spent our money here for our 30th Anniversary getaway, but thankful we only stayed one night!
