I had a pretty good experience especially coming from the JD Sports store down the block. We were greeted warmly at the door and taken care of by one of the associates almost immediately. We wanted to purchase the Nike Slides for my nephew and thankfully they had it in stock. The associate was also helpful in ensuring that my nephew had the appropriate size by bringing out two sizes to try them on. She was also friendly in making conversation with my nephew about his bball experience, etc. They did have a few sneakers that were on sale which was nice but unfortunately, the Nike slides that we purchased were full price. Nonetheless, I had a good experience here and I'd recommend visiting the store if you're in the area and looking for footwear! read more

Ran into this place while checking out the shops on 125th...I wish that the store on the West Coast was as big as this place... The house of hoops within a mall kind sucks. The name of this place is a misnomer because it is actually the House of Hoops which is a joint collaboration with Nike. Strictly a store for only basketball shoes, clothes, and accessories. One cool feature is the shoe wall near the entrance where they feature the signature shoes for each Nike-sponsored player. Customer service is definitely on point and surprising given the normal service at a regular non-hype Footlocker. read more

If you're in Manhattan, just take the the 2 train uptown at 125th St and you're in there like swimwear. I had a ticket for the upcoming release of the 2014 Air Jordan 6's black infrared. The store opens at 8am and I was waiting all night since 12am that day. It was 23 degrees all night and I was the 15th person on line. When it was time to open the door, it was very clear that the door man was letting people, who literally skipped the line, in the store with out a problem, which highly upsets me. I went from being the 15th person to becoming the 50th person, in the blink of an eye, which is not fair to me and everyone who righteously waited 7+ hours in the cold for the release. It is evident that there is favoritism to this "first come, first serve" method, however, it should be more organized. It was very strange how the dozens of who people skipped the line, all knew each other and the staff was more friendly to them than everyone else. Knowing that the Black Infrared 6's are a highly anticipated shoe, it should require at least a honest staff member (or two) conducting the line. I love Jordan's and I don't mind camping out but I will make sure me to never do any business or recommend my friends and family to this House of Hoops on 125th street. read more

The Harlem house of hoops is a gift and a curse. It's a gift if you wanna find some nice sneakers or apparel on a normal day. If your tryna buy a limited release sneaker, better yet a retro Jordan you better be on line on Saturday by at least 7am prompt. As some of the other yelpers have mentioned there's an ungodly amount of line skipping that takes place so try your best to let the person in front running the line see your face several times throughout and you should be able to keep a good spot. If not you probably will fall to the back and let all the resellers and house of hoop favs(that's what I call the people that are allowed to skip every single week) get all the kicks. PS. Most of the prized sneakers are given out through raffles now which to me is worst because then the employees just rig them so they're friends and family get them. read more

I make the pilgrimage to come here anytime I'm back to visit. Employees are always chatting about what's going on in the hood, but they're more than willing to help if you need something in stock. If you're expecting some exclusive stuff, you just might come up on something special. Biggest thing I regret not buying was a special KD 66 Rucker t-shirt that was dropped right after his infamous Rucker Park game with 66 points that summer. This place is okay when there isn't some limited release going on... other than that they need to step their game up for the waiting process of getting limited kicks on launch days.. I haven't gone back here for limited releases since like 2010 because of that so maybe its better but other than that its kool.
