Foosing Restaurant is located near my childhood home, and, as such, I have only had the chance to sample their food when visiting my parents. Here's what I think:
Pros:
- Speedy take-out service. I have never actually eaten inside the restaurant, so I cannot attest to that aspect of Foosing.
- For those living in Beaver Bank, this is the only true restaurant that falls within the town's limits - proximity is a plus.
- The food is good - neither the best nor the worst Chinese cuisine I've ever eaten.
- Portion sizes are on the generous side and prices are reasonable.
Cons:
- From my two experiences, the food is not as fresh as that from other restaurants. It certainly doesn't taste bad, but the veggie-based dishes in particular lack the crispness that I want.
- Dishes labeled 'spicy' (such as Shanghai noodles) are not. This may be due, in part, to the fact that I've become immune to spice, but I think most of it can be blamed on the general population's intolerance to spiciness and its tendency to complain about food being 'too spicy'.
I wouldn't go out of my way to order from Foosing, but it's certainly an acceptable choice for those living in Beaver Bank/Sackville. read more
