We tried the pizza served on rice flour naan but honestly, I would skip that. We got the orange chicken it is made with tandoori chicken and the orange chicken seasonings. It was so good. It would take me a while to get through all the menu, but I would happily do that in the honor of research. It has a fairly decent sized dining area and then there's a bar area as well. We were there for lunch so I'm not quite sure how busy the bar area is or if it's popular. We are always looking for really good gluten-free places because of celiac and we were thrilled to find sweet 27 Café and bakery for lunch. They need to figure that out, it was pretty rough to hold - collapsing and soggy, not a great experience. Our pastries were just okay - got the fig/creme filled big puff and a spinach ricotta pastry. Both were fine, a bit dry, and I've had similar/better things from Tous Le Jous, cafe dear Leon, and even ovenbird. These seemed maybe not so fresh. My order was ready in no time. First the breakfast biscuit. The bacon and egg were perfectly cooked and sandwiched between a homemade cheddar biscuit, which was perfectly baked. This sandwich was really good. Now the crab dip stuffed Baltimore biscuit was another matter. The biscuit was nice a brown, but when I went in to cut, the inside was underbaked, dare I say raw. I was a little disappointed. There was a smear of crab dip inside, but not nearly enough to justify the price. I had to place it back in oven to bake enough for me to enjoy. Full disclosure, I did get a response from the owners who were very apologetic in what I received and offered to make it right with another one on the house on my next visit! The music playing was great, not overtly loud but soft. I visited on a Hump Day morning around 9am and there was no line. I went up to order and asked the cashier what's popular. He said they are known for lattes and rattled off a few. I opted to get the Toasted Marshmallow hot latte with whole milk. I would said it was ok, I couldn't taste the toasted marshmallow flavor at all. I also ordered the bacon/Swiss swirl which was yummy once I warmed it in the microwave at home. 3 stars for me because of the latte but I'm willing to revisit to try other flavors. I ordered my sourdough loaf online a few days in advance for a Thursday pick up. I stopped in around 3pm and the loaf was quickly wrapped up for me. I asked if it could be sliced like the white bread loaf can but I was informed that the classic sourdough loaf is too large to fit in the slicer. I also love the fact that they offer a pay what you can program and a pay it forward option. And judging by their fundraising for important causes, this is a business I will continue to support. For $7, I thought it was a great deal for such a large and beautiful loaf. It froze and reheated very well too so none of it went bad. I wish I could try more of the menu but I should probably play it safe. If you're gluten intolerant and tend to be able to tolerate sourdough, I definitely recommend giving their classic loaf a try.
