This place is big, clean, and has good deals. The employees are nice, too. Will be back!

Drove a passenger here today working Uber. I was amazed they open at 6am! (Google and Yelp need to update the hours!) but that is such a great time for me because around this time I am finishing work and I never have anywhere to go shopping besides gas stations, lol.

I've had to complete the butchering process when I buy meat from Vons or Albertsons! Yes, take a close look! That's disgusting!

I really don't understand how anyone would ever think to shop at a Food 4 Less! I've had to shop at this store since the Stater Brothers closed. This store frankly makes you want to immediately take a shower the minute you walk out of it! And the prices frankly aren't any cheaper than going into a Vons or Albertsons! This place is dirty, unorganized, hard to walk around and disgusting!

I've been to Food 4 Less in San Diego years ago...and I get it. They don't bag your groceries- that doesn't bother me at all. The prices are considerably cheaper. I was in the area and needed just one thing- dishwasher detergent. I remembered Food 4 Less was down the block and stopped in. First thing that hit me was the smell of urine after I parked my car. Now, while it wasn't actually in the store or within 30 feet of the store, which is a plus...it's still a problem. The good side is it totally ruined any urge I had for picking up any food items here. I quickly walked the store because I simply couldn't find the item. Once I found it, the lines moved quickly even though there were super long. I didn't interact with any employees except for a super brief interaction with the cashier. I'm going to give this spot a low 3 stars. It's ok, but doubtful I would return.

My girlfriend bought Brussel Sprouts today from Food 4 Less in Escondido. Normally we don't shop here, but she wanted to save a few dollars. Long story short, she came home and cut the brussel sprouts, they had worms.

This place is huge and comparable to a Costco. I like that they use the same club card as Ralph's but tends to have cheaper prices. This spot has anything and everything you need. I like their selection of wine and liquor. They tend to have cheaper prices than other grocers except for Stater Bros. The checkers are very fast and efficient. Parking isn't too bad as I tend to always find a spot close to the entrance but keep in mind it does get busy. During holidays they have great deals i.e.: spend a certain amount on groceries, get a free bottle of gin or vodka. Not a brand name of course but you can still get your drink on. What's great about this place over a Costco is that you can buy in bulk if you want or even a smaller size is doesn't matter. You'll still be saving. Plus you don't have to pay for a membership. I wish there was a Food 4 Less closer to me, I'd seriously shop at it more often.

Some of the employees here are so damn lazy!! MIKE S. The White Male (cashier) today Saturday June3rd who was cashing me out today really got me annoyed today, I put all my items in the band except for the big ones and I was so mad that I had packs of big Gatorades and packs of liquor(beer) in my cart and instead of taking out the scanner gun he's like Oh, I NEED TO SCAN THOSE!! I replied yes, don't you have the scanning gun? He's like yeah but I need to scan them,, Like W in the F!! I can't move back or forth because there's people in-front & behind me putting their stuff on the band and he's telling me I gotta put those items in his fkn hands so he can scan them !!? So you mean you can't come around, take out your gun and scan the big items?? Seriously?? Costumers are not here to make your Job easier dude! YOU GET YOUR FAT -SS out of your cube and actually scan things like any other cashier would do! & on top of that he asks to see my ID, which is in my wallet & I showed it to him and ASKS ME To TAKE IT OUT of my wallet!!! Like W.t.f Nowhere EVER did anyone asked me to get my ID out of the wallet when you can CLEARLY SEE IT!!! I'm beyond pissed! This dude is beyond lazy and rude! He should not work here!!! Seriously if getting out of your cube and scanning products is too much for you to do maybe you shouldn't be a CASHIER!!!! I rather spend my money somewhere else!! Hope your boss sees the way you work!

What can ya say about Food 4 Less? As anyone who's read many of my reviews, I rate a business based on what it's TRYING to be. That being said, I can't rate Food 4 Less on the same basis I'd rate practically ANY OTHER grocery. Why? They're not trying to be "Customer-Oriented" in the normal sense of the word. The decor is basic Warehouse. In some ways, it's kind of a "bare bones" store. No there's no Deli, but there is a Meat Market. Yeah, ya gotta BAG YOUR OWN GROCERIES; what a CONCEPT! You "Elite" Yelpers might not like the place; the women aren't wearing Jimmy Choo, and the guys aren't wearing those nicely cut khakis and Izod shirts. But man, check out those PRICES! Food 4 Less is a division of Kroger, and Kroger KNOWS GROCERIES. In this case, they know how to translate a bare-bones approach to a grocery store into great savings, and still have a decent selection of NOT bare-bones merchandise, among the cheap stuff you'd probably expect. There's an Albertson's that's the closest store to me (geographically), and when I just need an item or two, yeah, I've been known to go there. Between "Al's", a Von's, Ralph's, Fresh Plus, the Latino Supermarkets around me, and some others I'm forgetting about right now, I've got a TON of other grocery stores that are closer. But Food 4 Less stands out as having a product line that can satisfy my BASIC needs, and the PRICES CAN'T BE BEAT. Period. Accordingly, Food 4 Less is where I do my major and planned shopping. Besides, that's the store where "my bags match the store". You should check 'em out. larrythediner .

The Escondido Food4Less is a wonderful place to find good meat and poultry. The selection is the best and great quality and the prices are very very reasonable. Although the clientele is from the local neighborhoods, they bring much of the Mexican culture which is great!!! Look for Manager Specials...can be a very good bargain! The cashiers are always friendly and the bathrooms are kept in good order and clean. The parking lot also has home-made tamales for sale from the back of their cars...a lot of people buy them!

We got meats from their meat counter, we got the carne asada and their pollo asado. We also got some turkey legs, fresh ceviche, and a slice of tres leches and some milk. The lines were super long, they didn't have enough checkers, and we didn't see their self check out until we left. Bummer. Also we didn't noticed until we got home but they never gave us the sale price for the milk! The meats were a little more expensive than NG. And we didn't get veggies or fruit bc nothing was really good or on sale. We did grill the meats at home and it was delicious! The carne asada was super good... may be better than NG. The chicken was comparable. The tres leches cake was delicious. The ceviche with shrimp and octopus was amazing. Ceviche was definitely better than NG. The store was big, and we felt a little pricier than NG. But we felt NG had a bigger hot foods area. We probably don't need to go the extra mile to Vallarta and stick with NG.

There is truly nothing like it. Their sandwiches are incredible! Flavorful, filling, and always a great portion size. And don't even get me started on their breakfast burritos. It's honestly a shame they only serve them until around 10:30-11am, because they're that good. You can really tell they know what they're doing when it comes to solid, house-made, deli-style meals. One of the best things about Meadows Deli Market is the consistency. I can rely on the food being amazing every single time, which is not an easy thing to pull off, and they've absolutely nailed it. The market itself is also great. They have so many options, and I can always count on them when I need something in a pinch. They even have a section dedicated to European and specialty foods, which is always fun to explore. The service is truly outstanding. Everyone is incredibly kind, welcoming, and professional, and there's just a really nice family-style atmosphere when you walk in. It's mostly a grab-and-go type of place, but the care and friendliness always stand out. I mean it when I say nothing compares to this market. If you're looking for great pizza, sandwiches, or....you're lucky enough to catch them in time for a breakfast burrito, this is the place, 100%. So thank you to Meadows Deli Market for serving our community and being such a long-standing staple in the area!!!
