I was so excited to go to this bakery, since it's right across the street from my hotel. Everything *looked* delicious. But the guy was pretty dismissive when I asked about things that were also dairy-free. Everything has butter in it, and the one thing that didn't had a mixture of cheeses. I actually asked if I could special order some things for next week that might have lard in them, and he said they wouldn't have time.
I'm kind of shocked that a bakery catering to Celiacs wouldn't have even a single item without dairy, considering how common dairy intolerance is among people with CD.
I guess they have regular menu items, too, but the person behind the counter didn't try to offer me any of those. It wasn't a terrible customer service experience, but it was definitely below average for this type of store. Since I can't rate this bakery on the food, I'll have to rate it on the customer service, which was meh (two stars), and the appearance (four stars), and give it three stars. read more
