My first time here shopping lots of fresh fruits. The prices were reasonable for a supermarket but not when your used to shopping at whole sales. I came here for fruits and vegetables the pomegranates were huge for 3$ so pretty sweet deal considering the freshness and size. The main thing I came here for is oxtails and I got some fresh ones and some frozen ones. The frozen ones were about 1$ less. After trying them both I didn't notice a difference in taste however frozen ones just took longer to defrost. I would definitely recommend this place for meats as they are very fresh. The fruits as well. The lines were definitely long but if you're with two people I would recommend splitting your items and going to the express line 15 times and under.

A quality supermarket with a abundant selection of quality brand names. This supermarket is located in Concourse Village nearby Bronx County Courthouse and easily accessibly by B, D trains at 161st Street Yankee Stadium station. Priced steep. Aisle are wide with standard supermarket aisle marker signage are clear. Decent selection of ethnic food. Staff speaks rudimentary English but appears fluent in Spanish. Good produce, meat, seafood selection but poor fruit selection. Checkout queues are abundant separated with express lanes for ten items or less and regular lanes. Facilities are available on site. Sales circulars are minimal available.

This is a pan-Latin American grocery store with a lot of Jamaican food too. But it's not your dingy corner shop selling weird roots-- no this place is HUGE HUGE HUGE, and filled with tons of hard to find fresh vegetables, a great meats department with a walk in refrigerated section. It's very clean and the prices are reasonable. And all kinds of brand names from every country south of the US. There is a whole section for food from Peru, Columbia, Mexico, the Dominican Republic ... and so much more. You can also get soda in a return bottle, the kind I had in Ohio when I was a little kid. A real treat. Even though I don't know much about Mexican or Dominican food the wide section and high quality fresh tortillas have inspired me to learn. Just don't go on Saturday, it's way too packed then! Go on a weekday.

On line.

Security discriminate who gets to keep their bags in the super market (I.e. middle age white women) and who doesn't (take a guess).

Good supermarket. Has lots of international things. Only thing I wish they had more organic options of dairy products.

This review is about their Seafood Department…read more Food Bazaar, surprisingly, is the only supermarket within five miles of my neighborhood that offers a Seafood Department carrying a wide variety of fresh seafood daily. I was on a quest to find a worthy, local, standalone fish market, but my efforts had been futile. The local supermarkets within two miles generally only offer prepackaged, salmon filets not properly scaled. Unscaled fish becomes a messy, annoying task when having to do the job yourself. It baffled me that I just paid a premium for a piece of unscaled fish, isn't that the fishmongers job? Prepackaged? I know, I was desperate. Thank goodness it was fresh. I will say this, I will never purchase prepackaged seafood again, if I can help it. I want to be able to quality check my seafood before making any purchases, and at Food Bazaar you're able to do so. The realization that there are no local, standalone seafood markets within a relatively close proximity is stunning to me. Yet again, another missed entrepreneurial opportunity. Trust me investors, if you build it, they will come. FB offers a whole lot more than just fresh seafood. But for the sake of this review, my quest has ended with an appreciative thank you to Food Bazaar for being that one saving grace.

This is a 1.5 star review generously being rounded up to 2…read more I haven't been to this Food Bazaar in years for two reasons. First mainly because there are so many other places I can go that are close to where I live or near where I work with better prices and fresh products and second because on my last visit, my mom purchased turkey wings and they were freezer burned and they gave her a huge problem returning them at that time. Fast forward to my recent visit, a friend of mine was going and I decided to accompany her and also check out the cereal prices while there. It looks like they have some better items on display and more variety than before so that's good. That is the reason for earning 1.5 stars. The reason for losing four is because when going to check out we went to self checkout and the machine says you can enter your phone number. My friend never signed up so the person there said she can sign up and then use the app. I thought my mom had already signed up and I entered the telephone number. For some reason it wasn't working. So one lady came over and she spoke very little English but then called for the other lady in Spanish. The other lady came over and she knew some English but had trouble explaining. Now my Spanish isn't the best but I understand well. It's speaking that I struggle with. Because I was confused with why the number wasn't working and trying to figure out how to relay that to her, she tells the other cashier three registers over and in front of several customers that I have an attitude which was totally inaccurate and inappropriate. I then realized despite how badI may feel my Spanish is, it was time for code switching and pulled my Spanish out and asked her if she's saying that I need to have the app AND I need to also have the telephone number in order to get the savings?? THE LOOK ON HER FACE WHEN SHE REALIZED I UNDERSTOOD HER!!! She then proceeded to explain (in Spanish) that yes both the app and the telephone number is needed for the savings, etc. I didn't call her out on it and No apology was ever offered either. But hopefully she now knows not to judge or talk about customers especially right in front of them assuming they won't be able to comprehend. I'm not going to take away from the very few other positives the store has but I definitely won't be returning and unless having the app and fully ready to let your bilingual talents show if and when in need of assistance, I'd be wary of shopping here.

I travel a lot and have been to many markets and Supermarkets all over the world but guess what? I…read morelove our Bonavita Key Food the best! Especially since they remodeled the WHOLE STORE! I've been shopping there for over 20 years and have always found it well stocked with many brands and unusual items as well. I love how clean and brightly lit the store is and now with bigger isles! The produce section is always fresh, beautiful and big! Now I have many favorite Delis and Deli departments in the Bronx for different items. But I have to say that their Deli is full of stunning, delicious in house made salads, Boar Head, Land o Lakes and other top brands of cold cuts, knishes, and many hot prepared dishes! When I can't make my own, this is my "go to place" for meatballs! Best meatballs in a nice sauce! Their in house butcher are wonderful and will make your meat cut to order! Great quality meat which stretches the back and side of store! They have organic, gluten free, ethnic brands, and comparable prices for the area. It never fails, I go in for a couple of items and because of their weekly sales items which are numerous and great deals, I walk out with bags of items! I also love that they have their own parking lot with eco-friendly solar lighting! The whole staff is wonderful making sure all customers are happy with a big staff covering every department to help you, an abundance of cashiers to make your line wait non existent most of the time and great managers that make their store run like a well oiled machine! Thank you to the owners Ralph Bonavita and Geffrey O"Keeffe for keeping their store 5 Star for our neighborhood!

But my small knapsack was to much. I guess today is Esmeralda and the older lady that was doing bag check today thought it was too much. Will not be coming back to spend my money here.
