For the past year my wife has ordered groceries from food4less. She order Roma tomatoes this past week and noticed the Roma tomatoes cost $19.00 for 6 tomatoes. They were charging per tomato rather than per pound. We called Instacart and they refused to pay back the overcharge. We looked back at our orders and noticed this was an issue for over a year of orders. I believe this is an intentional way of stealing from the customers. Beware of any products priced by the pound. Food4less is marking the products per pound price to each, so if a $2.00/pound turns into $2.00 each. What a scam! read more

I have had multiple incidents with a certain employee named "Itza" I believe Is her name. I had another incident last night, 10/16 at approximately 8pm when I went to self checkout and was with my 4 kids and the system kept flagging everything I was scanning. She kept coming over and grabbing my food and checking it. I had less than 15 items. I was trying to be in and out. She got directly in my face Which is extremely rude and confrontational then proceeded to tell me to go to a checkout line. I am 5 months pregnant. I felt extremely uncomfortable with this woman who I don't know getting in my face. Then when I asked her name she covered her name tag with the plastic bags. I told the checkout girl I'd like to speak to a manager and she told me Sean had already clocked out but I could speak to Boyd in the morning. I then asked her name and the checkout girl told me. Then once she heard I wanted to file a complaint she went to Sean and told him I was causing a problem or something. I wasn't causing an issue. I felt very uncomfortable and disrespected by her. Every time I go in there there's always a problem with JUST HER, no one else. I have never had an issue with anyone else in the 25 years I've been going since I was a kid. Never. I know multiple people who work there and none of them are rude to me like she is. I feel very uncomfortable going to the store because of her. I Am trying to get food when I go to a grocery store. I don't expect there to be an issue every time I go Because she's having a bad day or something. We all have bad days. No need to get directly in someone's face and be rude. Prob be going to cost less now Or save mart Unless I really need something as it's right across the street from my house. I just really don't feel comfortable going there anymore. I will be contacting the store manager in the morning but I doubt anything's going to be done. I come to shop here late at night when almost no patrons are present. The store is clean, I know my way around, and pricing on many items is great. They do have a limited amount of cashiers which can make checkout slower. When you shop here at night, use situational awareness. The parking lot is not super well lit and there can be questionable characters hanging around. Other than that, the prices are great and the store is clean inside. read more

Me and my mom came in to grab alcohol and snacks. We grabbed our items and headed to the check out line. The cashier who was helping us (11pm on 2/14/2025) was extremely rude and didn't let us check out because I myself who is 24 years old did not have an ID on me but my mom who is in her 50s did. The cashier said the person who is paying for the alcohol has to have an ID. While at first I was going to pay, but forgot my ID so my mom said she would pay if I simply sent her the money. Used to be regular at Foodmax, but then Foodmax nearby went away and other locations went up in price. Now Food4less is my fall-back and this one is right nearby. Their price overall is still lower than Foodmax's, but not many of these Food4less are available else where these day. Hard to find these stores. This one, I just wish they take better care of their vegetable & fruit area. Every time I go in for some lettuce, green onions, etc., I see most of them wilted, dried, and not fresh looking! At least their meat area is good, so the meat part hasn't disappoint me yet. read more

They're just hiring anyone at this store now. They used to have such good quality cashiers who were always nice and sweet. But now they have people working here who should not be in customer service. I had a cashier scan things at turtle speed on purpose so they wouldn't send her to go do something else since I was the only customer in her line it was ridiculous. She had an attitude and she was smacking her gum super loud with her mouth open the whole time. This place is huge an the prices are excellent. Whenever I am in Ceres an need something to put in the fridge this is the place I go.

Food 4 Less is always clean that's what makes me come back and also their amazing prices. They even sometimes leave coupons next to the items which is AMAZING ! They always have a worker outside getting all the baskets together which is always a plus because you know you hate when you go somewhere and you can't even park because there is baskets everywhere. I really like that this location carries a variety of ethnic produce and groceries. I was surprise to find thai eggplants, papayas, and Asian long beans. Also seen that they carry filipino lumpia. I always stop by here when I'm in the Ceres area. read more

I enjoy shopping for groceries here. Decent produce and quality meat found here. Lol. I'm a fan of how their trimmed Tri tip roast are actually trimmed and very light on the fat cap, unlike Winco. Winco is my fav though. They are always well stocked, clean and organized when I go. The employees are always professional and polite. The only problem here is the presence of bums just outside the store entrance. They don't panhandle, but really it doesn't help the stores appearance or sense of safety. If I was less confident or had children I think I'd think twice about coming here after dark. They could benefit from a security gaurd. No place is perfect but this store is near so. read more

The reason for my review, is not because of their prices and food quality but more so for their employees. Today I went grocery shopping there and every single employee was either rude or lazy. I asked two employees where something was and BOTH of them did not direct me to where it was or even offer to get it for me, since I was at the cash register already. When I asked another employee, in the meat department, if there was boneless chicken thighs he made no eye contact and just pointed at the meat giving me an ignorant look. I have never felt such way about shopping anywhere but this was just plain out lazy. I don't care if your bitter for only making minimum wage, be happy you have a job. Food 4 Less, then WinCo, then Costless. Prices total about the same when buying a full cart of groceries. Of course one store may be cheaper on a certain product than another. But out of the three stores listed above, I'd say Ceres Food 4 Less meets higher satisfaction standards. The prices are competitive, the store is well lit, always clean and well stocked during the day. Customer service varies since every employee is a human being and human beings all have different personalities. If they can't give you a price on a certain item over the phone, there's a reason for it. So get your lazy, penny-pinching self off the couch and go check for yourself. As for store cleanliness during the 24 hour period, after 10pm or so.. Yes, it's a little dirty/ cluttered. The reason for that is simply that this store is open 24 hours, there is a night stock crew and cleaning guys. The store needs to be stocked and cleaned and what better time to do it than at night when the store is practically empty? Food 4 Less is awesome! read more

Treated me like a criminal!! I was dropped off here so I had my backpack on and walked into the store. Soon after I was approached by an employee and told that I cannot have my backpack with me and that I would have to put it in front or leave. As I complied and was going to do so she very rudely said "NOW!!" Like if I was some sort of child and escorted me to the front where I left the store instead. Although it's there policy for not shopping with backpacks, I felt harassed and found it very disturbing to treat a customer like this when she could of asked respectfully... Other customers even looked at me as I was a thief because of the way she was treating me. Funny thing was, on the other isle there was a lady with a backpack also who was completely ignored by the employees... Customers should not be profiled like this, period. Will not shop here again! i called the corprate office regauding a weekly ad and asked why krogers food 4 less get better seasonal prices then we do and he said that they are not the same company well why would you carry the food 4 less name if you are not affiliated and was given the run around when i asked a bunch of questions regaurding pricing i think its an unfair advatage that the stores in la can get t turkey for 37 cents a pound and we here in the valley have to pay 49 cents a pound but the catch is you must buy 50 bucks worth of groceries that does not include the turkey not a good deal because everything else is high price so you get less and they line thier pockets more they gouge money out of you no matter how you look at it it used to be you could get a good deal a while back but all these corperations are getting more greedy that beig said i will just have to shop around its sad. read more
