NEVER BUY YOUR MEATS HERE! everything else here is okay to buy from the fruits, veggies to bread and other goods. but beware the meat here is disgusting. i had a friend who actually worked in the back cutting meats and they said when some meats go bad they season them up and try to cover them up and see if they'll sell. and it's so true because last time i bought meat from costless it went bad within a day. if they had fresh meat this store would definitely be a 4star the parking lot is so tiny and the inside seems like it's always crowded. read more

As I was paying today, the cashier and bagger were making fun of the accent of the man that paid before me. They were also talking badly of him, and the cashier would continue to stop ringing up the times to turn and talk to the bagger. My first visit to this Cost Less since just moving here. I am from the Jackson CA area and would ONLY shop at the Cost Less grocery store because they had the best meat and produce prices everyday! The store here in Turlock was also just as impressive! A lot of choices, great prices and exceptional service from the cashier!! I have now found my new favorite local grocery store in Turlock! This place is bad. so many rotten fruit and veggies even though workers are walking around. the meat dept is worse. a few times i have been in here for meat and have found green pork and very brown beef. i talked to a nice employee there and he told me that they just season meats like ribs and tri tip and chicken when the meat goes bad. they use bad (rotten) pork to make sausage and also for the cooked items. i will never ever buy from this store again unless the whole store management team are replaced. this is so disgusting and immoral for these managers to let this store get this bad read more

This grocery market store has other locations in Oakdale, Ceres, Jackson and Modesto. They have really consistent weekly sales here on protein such as meat. They mail their sales out in newspaper ink each week. They cater to multicultural clientele. Even though the lines do get long in here they often have more than 3 cash registers going at once and the lines move quickly. They have a large quantity of Mexican Latino products here as well as most grocery items you'd find in your typical grocery store. They are always friendly too and this grocery market along with Walmart, the .99 Cent store and Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market's have the lowest cost on groceries in town. read more

So this is my go to place for my produce. Usually this place has the BEST prices and fresh produce. I went here today and was so disappointed by how bad the produce was. Everything looked old and not fresh at all. I walked around and everything looked like it has been sitting for a month!!! The bell peppers are practically mushy, avocados visibility looked gross, and even the limes were bad when I went to feel one I almost smashed it with my finger. They must have someone new buying their food? I was told to complain to the produce manager so maybe they have been getting alot of complains. They do have really great deals on meat. First time going to this Market and it wasn't the best, yes prices were okay but as soon as you walk in you get this awful rotten smell. The cash registers are not clean I understand they get too many people that they might not have time to clean it but they were all just dirty,they were sticky and it was just very unsanitary. A big ol' blessing for families on a tight budget! No, Cost Less doesn't have fancy decor, or coupon cards, or a pharmacy, or section of organic-raw-sprouted-gluten-free-non-g.m.o.-vegan pet food. If that's what you're looking for, then this is NOT the store for you. Cost Less DOES have a wide variety of excellent fresh produce and fresh meat for cheap. And I do mean cheap. You heard me right. Your kids will be able to eat all the fruit & veg they want without you having to take out a 2nd mortgage on your home. This place is wayyyyyyyyy tooo small!!!!! You are literally rubbing butts with people thee ENTIRE time!! On every aisle!! There is this mildew, avocado smell to the place and Its dirty. Its probably not dirty but the nasty stained tile and crusty crates make it just feel like the flea market or something. The people working here are like 12 and are not educated in food products. I ask someone a question about "real" butter and he looked at me as if I was dumb. I asked someone what aisle the seasoning in packages were and he told me aisle 3... WRONG!!! They are overstocked, over priced, and overly crowded. They have about 2 or 3 cashiers and you are again rubbing butts with the people in the next lane. The store isnt safe. It isnt personable. I normally go to winco in Modesto. Yes I make the drive ALLLLL the way to winco as a turlockian. Or I go to neighborhood Walmart. I am a Turlock resident and shop here on a regular basis. I have not one complaint about the staff they always help when needed, prices are great, and bakery is awesome. Yes the parking lot is crowded but if this place wasn't worth it the parking lot would be empty with lots of parking available like some other stores right? Keep in mind the fancier they get with the property the higher the prices of food get to pay for it! Keep up the good work cost less. read more

I always buy my fruits and veggies here but right know i am very upset because i bought pork ribs on Tuesday, June 25 and today i was planning to eat it and they were no good, it smelled really bad. I called the store and they put me on hold for 5 mins. and they hanged up on me.I called again, they hang up on me. I called again and finally a manager named Cristian answer the phone I explain to him my problem and he said to come back with the meat and the receipt . The problem is that I am going on vacation next week ,he said that I only have 10 days to return the meat. He was rude,I ask to speak with someone else and he said to called in 20 min for the next available manager.
