Shrimp and Scallops in Hot Garlic Sauce
Su S.

Okay so since my last review over two years ago and having not eaten here in years.....one late night and the need for convenience I took a chance to circle back here........but trust I spied their consistent Grade A or B for a minute first. The wings have been on point the last few times, I am not quite sure what they season them with but it works. And short of having fries any other side such as shrimp and broccoli the two stars result from the oily veggie protein anything I have attempted to try here...... mind you I have also asked for no oil to be added and it still turn out what.....oily. oh I forget I have also tried their mei fun noodles though a healthy portion is just okay. Oh well occasion chicken and fries spot it is.

Fried baby shrimp with extra shit inside.

Today was the first and last time I will be ordering from this restaurant. I normally like to try out different Chinese spots in the area and thought I'd finally give this one a chance. BIG MISTAKE. Delivery time/ pricing were standard. I ordered the fried baby shrimp and I couldn't even enjoy it with the amount of shit that was filled inside of it. The lomein was dry as fuck. The sesame chicken was ridiculously over battered and didn't have any sauce. The pork fried rice was probably the most edible part of the dish but only if you add duck sauce and soy sauce. The only good thing about this experience was the excess amount of sauce packets they left in the bag (which ill be using for another Chinese restaurant) I read some reviews/ pictures and my food definitely did not look or taste as good as people are reviewing. Good luck if you want to order from here. WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY

2 meals plus 3 drinks = $13.50

Pros: (+) Fast service (+) Cheap and consistent (+) Chicken wings and fried rice =) Cons: (-) Sesame chicken is a bit chewy whenever I ask for extra crispy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've been ordering at this place for years. They deliver. They are fast. They are reliable. And the food is consistent. There's no seating here if you plan on walking in. Tip: order before 3pm and the meals are cheaper. Anytime after, the meals are about $1-2 more because it's dinner prices after that.

If you like the taste of old reused oil absorbed in your food, this is the place to go.

Their service is amazing always, they are very attentive and make sure to make their customers feel welcome and appreciated. Food here is always delicious and made to perfection!! Definitely a must to try different appetizers, their soup dumplings are to die for!!! Definitely recommend, whether you're craving some noodles or simply a rice bowl, they are equally exquisite in their own way!!!

I think in general, Zhongzhong noodles are one of the most underrated Chinese restaurants in NYC. I…read morefirst had it in Roosevelt Island and I thought it was absolutely delicious. I wish there were more locations of this in Manhattan. We made an order at the desk before we seated ourselves and for a Saturday evening, there was quite a bit of open tables which was great. I ordered the Szechuan Braised Beef Noodles and they were absolutely delicious. The noodles tasted a bit like ramen noodles but they were able to grab all the delicious and garlic flavored soup. I really appreciated the soft-boiled egg with its marinated egg whites. I also loved the big tender beef chunks as well. Overall, I really cannot wait to go back to Zhongzhong noodles and I hope that they open up more locations. I will say though that since I last went to the Roosevelt Island location, they have raised their prices quite a bit - maybe $2 or $3 per dish.

Li's Kitchen - A l'il bit o' errythang...best item was the shrimp chow mei, despite them now using medium-sized shrimp.

I took them home and shared them with a friend. The ribs were a revelation. The shrimp lomein amazed me. The dumplings were fabulous. We have a staple restaurant from which we always order but one of this place's dishes stuck out to me and had great reviews so that was what made me take a chance with them. I saw this picture of their Shrimp Chow Mei Fun everywhere and the shrimp were huge. People said it was a really good dish so I had to try it. I will say that it tastes really good but this recession has definitely affected the shrimp size. They serve medium-sized shrimp in this dish and the pictures where saw extra large shrimp, are likely no more. The flavor was still really good and I suggest asking for some chili oil as well, if you don't have any at home. That's a game-changer. We had their sesame chicken, shrimp dumplings, sautéed broccoli and wonton soup, which were all very good. They even pan fried the dumplings as requested. Their shrimp and egg rolls were fried very hard which I don't like. It's a little difficult for my daughter to eat the hard exterior as well. The fantail shrimp were very sad. I'm used to them being mostly breading but these are ridiculous. The shrimp size is a fourth of the overall breading. If it's getting too expensive to serve them, they may want to take them off the menu entirely and just serve fried shrimp or popcorn shrimp. They were literally that size. The house fried rice was also not a favorite. I'm not into super dark fried rice and it just seemed really hard. This is your run-of-the-mill neighborhood Chinese takeout spots I wasn't expecting gold standards but now I know how to order from them in the future if I ever have another craving for their Chow Mei Fun.
