Beer tasting flight: $20…read more This was only our second visit to Rincon Mountain's tasting room, but the experience was just as wonderful as the first time. This is a family owned/operated wine and beer tasting room located in Carpinteria, with their vineyards located on nearby Rincon Mountain and in Paso Robles. Cool vibe entry area, with a large, garage-like back room and outdoor tasting areas. Parking available both on street and in a private lot in back. WINES: We were fortunate to have Jill, co-owner with her husband Edward, pour for us and the service was excellent. We tried 5 wines from the tasting menu, a '22 Storytime Rosè, '22 Susie Q (white Rhone blend), 2020 Dusty Vinyl (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre red blend), '19 Tempranillo, and a '19 Monk (Bordeaux red blend). In addition, Jill also poured us a '22 Syrah. Again, all the wines were well-made and flavorful. We took advantage of the waived tasting fee and took several bottles home with us. You can also purchase wines by the glass or enjoy a bottle onsite. BEER: New since our last visit, Jill and Edward decided to brew beer, so we also decided to share a tasting. All ingredients are grown on their property and they're currently pouring a Lu Lu Lager, a Monk's Ration (Belgian Ale), and a Sal's Stout. The pours are generous and easily enough for two people to share a tasting. We're not huge beer fans, but these, especially the lager and the ale, were so refreshing and full of flavor. They're sold in 750ml bottles, and we took a couple of these home as well. I highly recommend a visit to Rincon Mountain Winery's tasting room. You won't be disappointed!

After reading some of the other reviews, I think it's worth pointing out that the winery does not provide food--and that's not uncommon in the wine industry. If you'd like snacks, simply bring your own. It wasn't a big deal for us at all. Overall, we had an exceptional experience and would definitely recommend Grassini to anyone looking for great wine, stunning scenery, and outstanding hospitality.

My wife ordered their Chardonnay. I chose a different white wine. I'm not a wine person. My wine was $12 and it was good. My wife's Chardonnay was $10 and from a tap. It was very good to my taste. The wine pours could have been a bit more generous. We also ordered cheese plate. The serving of cheese and crackers was just the right size and tasty. The plate also had nuts, which were stale. My advice would be to add some dried fruit too. The inside is well lit and you can see tons of wine casks and barrels. There is a large outdoor patio where the band played. A nice place and a nice experience.

We learned about the different types of alpacas but there were other animals on the farm like llamas, horses, sheep, chickens, and Archie the water buffalo. The whole experience took an hour. I recommend wearing closed-toe shoes as you'll be walking on unsteady ground in the dirt and grass. We went with kids and it was very kid-friendly. We had a series of issues from the start. Our assigned waiter was completely inattentive; he ignored our table, failed to check on us, and never brought the cheese board we ordered. We eventually had to flag down another member of the staff just to get any service at all. Even after we caught his attention, our server seemed aware of us but made no effort to approach or assist. Additionally, the wait time for our wine flights was excessively long. When the cheese board finally arrived, I was shocked to find that all three cheeses were served still inside their original plastic wrappers--not even sliced. To make matters worse, we were provided with plastic knives to cut the cheese ourselves, which was incredibly difficult and frustrating. I have never encountered a cheese board served this way at any establishment. I really wanted to enjoy this visit, and I want to give credit to the other waitresses who were working that day--they were great and were the only saving grace of the experience. However, the lack of basic service and the bizarre presentation of the food made this a trip I wouldn't recommend
