The tasting room is behind a Mexican Restaurant north of the 101. They have a small private parking lot that accommodates three cars and an open air tasting room. We did not have a reservation and noticed they accepted walk-ins. This little winemaker uses grapes from the region to create some tasty wine in the tasting room. You get to see all the production equipment as it surrounds you while you taste. The wine is tasty and we picked up a few. We really enjoyed our Valentines themed tasting of Petite Syrah with some locally made chocolate for $8 more than the tasting price. We hope to return again.

Because it's a 2 man operation, that's probably what's leading to a lack of tasting times, call backs, etc. That's not an excuse, that's something that they should definitely work on and improve. I got lucky and was able to schedule a last minute tasting. 2. For those of you complaining about the location and feeling unsafe. Stop it. Really, just stop it. Someone else on here said something like "your privilege is showing." Yeah, what he said. 3. The wines. I'm no somm, but I'm confident enough in my appreciation for pinots. Their wines are up there with anything else you can get in SB County. Their old-world style with whole clusters, etc. really adds a complexity to their wines that is hard to match. I haven't tasted everywhere, but I know my way around Samford, ABC, Dragonette, Liquid Farm, Melville, Sea Smoke etc. I love them all. Whitcraft belongs in their company IMHO. They do require a certain mood, which is probably why I will ONLY share these bottles with friends who really appreciate pinots. I won't waste these on my Cab friends.

We visited Municipal Winemakers/Potek Winery on 05/24/2026 at about 5:30PM…read more We were early for our 6:15pm reservation, and you enter through a mutual courtyard shared by Third Window Brewing and Potek Winery. It is a great area, and boy does it get busy on the weekends. There are plenty of places to sit both indoors and outdoors. Because we had a reservation, they had reserved a table for us outdoors. Although, we ended up finding a different place inside, which was not a problem for them. We did a wine tasting, and we had one rose and three reds. The choices were great, and we enjoyed them thoroughly. We did end up buying two bottles of the rose, which did waive the tasting for one of us. We were assisted today by Kat, and she was such a pleasure. She explained each of the wines to us, and went above and beyond in helping us with other things as well. A great time, and we would definitely return again in the future.

And on a beautiful Santa Barbara afternoon, seated in their comfy cozy patio area, our gracious host Paul took us through our tasting and made sure we knew exactly which vineyard each wine came from. We learned so much about the process of making Sparkling Wine, and why each glass was so special. And as we went through our tasting we had the opportunity to also enjoy working on their custom hand carved wooden puzzles. Something we had never experienced before, and they helped to make the tasting all the more enjoyable. They also offer a Santa Rita Hills Rosé of Pinot Noir, and a Happy Canyon Sauvignon Blanc. Both of which we purchased for our next Springtime picnics. They also have a fun tasting area inside, both at their bar and inside tables. Although we didn't get a chance to meet winemaker Laura and Taco (they both had the day off), we look forward to coming back to Loubud very soon. Really can't say enough about how delicious the wines are, you really need to experience them yourselves.

Really well rounded and full bodied red with lots of fruit. I ended up shipping 2 bottles back home I liked it so much. Loved the vibe here and how down to earth they were. I hate the snootiness of wine culture and there was none of that here. Just really well made stuff. Will be back next time I'm in town!
