After the sale of our home, I contacted Vivint customer service to let them know the new home owner will be taking over the home security devices and everything will be transferred to them; at that time vivint removed our access to the vivint account. I rightly assumed that was it... only to realize 10 months later Vivint was still billing us monthly (as well as the new home owners); they were collecting monthly fees for a service we no longer had (and also billing the new home owners). After a week of back and forth with their customer service we were finally told it was an error and we would receive a full refund from the time of transfer (10 months); the refund I received was less than 1 month of charges. We have spent another week of our time arguing with customer service who now says we will not be getting the refund since we have no written documentation from customer service; not only that, they are refusing to release the recorded phone message where their customer service representative acknowledges the error and promises we will be receiving a refund for the 10 months of double charges. UNREAL.

    I've been a Vivint customer for a few years and only had small issues. Recently, a salesman…read morearrived and gave his speech about upgrades for only $2/month more. A month later, and now I'll be paying $20 more a month. I spent most of today trying to understand the difference. I couldn't login online - the third(?) Vivint person told me I was using the wrong login (what the previous people told me). A few hours later, I finally got a straight answer regarding the cost. The salesman either made a mistake or was uninformed regarding terms of the financing. The loyalty team member was very sorry about the problem. When I asked about canceling and returning the new equipment and getting the old stuff re-installed, I was told I missed the 30-day downgradable period - by one day (yesterday was Sunday and the billing/loyalty team is not available on the weekend). I need to call back (because the dept you really need is only available by phone) and spend more time in limbo - to find out what would it cost me to scrap the whole thing. Today was beyond frustrating. Hearing "I'm sorry" and "I apologize" so much but not offering any reasonable solution amounts to "you're screwed".

    ADT is terrible. My system has not worked properly in over 6 months. I called a few times and…read moreeventually they set up a virtual appointment, which did not fix the issue. Then they said I had to pay for a technician to come out when it's their equipment that is not working. I finally broke down to schedule the appointment and when I called to try and get a narrower window for the tech to arrive, I was faced with an AI hall monitor. I kept asking for a human, and AI kept spinning me around and around. When I finally did get a human, I was advised that they cannot narrow the time down. I am quite sure the tech will say I need an upgrade and charge me for it. Nope. Not happening. As soon as I finish paying for this lousy equipment and service (speared over 5 years), I am cancelling this service.

    Well good morning I've tried to cancel my service with ADT but they still charging my account for…read moreservices that is not being monitored and now since I decided to cancel them they now are offering me new equipment after years I been telling them that my equipment was not working to satisfy my needs and all they won't to do is go to panel box and press codes to work around the issue so now that I done spent money on cameras and doorbell cameras now they want to offer me a upgrade that's gonna be $99.00 to install new equipment and they claim my bill will be cheaper than before I really don't know what to trust in them.

They (Acadiana Security…read morePlus/Pye Barker) want to charge me $140 for a technician to come and enter the security code on my panel that will allow them to do it. $140 to drive a few miles and punch in their secret code!!! What a joke. I'm am (was) a good customer. They should do this for me for free.

Don't get me wrong - the technician we dealt with in person yesterday was great - very personable and competent. And, though it took it took thirty minutes, the individual that FINALLY talked us through shutting down the badly - and very loudly - malfunctioning alarm after was very competent and patient. However, everything that we dealt with in terms of service and professionalism up to that point was absolutely awful and nothing like what we were used to. Apparently thr problem is that when Acadiana Security Plus was thought out, they reduced their phone staff to only one overnight technician, which is why we were stuck for forty-five minutes on the carport in the LIGHTNING STORM WITH A SMALL CHILD to get away from the howling alarm. ALSO, the multiple individuals that used to answer the phones, providing immediate answers and assistance, have apparently been replaced with one overnight office staffer who is TERRIBLE. This particular fatuous individual is unprofessional, rude, condescending, and doesn't even bother to answer with the name of the company anymore, and starts raising her voice when a customer doesn't immediately respond to the completely unfamiliar "Central Station". In fact, it was sadly she that answered this morning at 6:00 in the morning when I called to figure out why the keypad was simply sounding an alarm again. After condescension, stating the obvious, and reiteration of condescension in stating the obvious, I finally got her to switch me to THE overnight technician. He couldn't give an answer for why it started randomly going off at 6:00 in the morning either, other than that it was the part that needs replacing. He also didn't ask for the code from the keypad, nor could he answer whether or not this was going to continue happening at random points. At least the one guy yesterday was competent. These are just a few of the problems out of several that we've experienced in the last 24 hours of dealing with these folks. However, they seem par for the course, in my experience, for what happens when Carpetbaggers from another area buy up an Acadiana company. An immediate drop in professionalism, personal service, quality of service, staff, and a dovetailing through a central Hub that is less than efficient and irritable with questions, all sound painfully familiar. We've been with this company for 15 years, so that should tell you out there and the company itself how ticked off we are. So rest assured, it may be a while before we eat complete our contract, but if such idiocy continues, we shall certainly not renew it.
