His gentle, professional care and state-of-the art equipment ensure only the best treatment. The staff are very good at following up with reminders of appointments and calls to ensure that you're feeling okay after treatment. I also really appreciate that this office has gone digital - all of the forms can be completed online before your appointment and the staff regularly communicate via email. Finally, the great location just outside of the LRT means that I can hop a train home and avoid all of the downtown traffic. While I wouldn't hope for another root canal, if I had to have another, I'd certainly go back to Dr. Lahl!

The receptionist, Michelle, is extremely ill-suited to a job dealing with people. They don't do direct billing, so I had a bill of $4000 to be paid before leaving. I am a poor university student. She spoke to me like I was stupid when I was upset about having to pay such a huge bill, and made me cry. She was ridiculously rude while I was numbed up and still in pain, saying I didn't understand how the 'real world' worked and I needed to learn a lesson. I have good benefits which covered most of the bill, but for whatever reason they don't direct bill, so I had to max out my credit card. I got back to by car and sobbed because of the how badly I had been treated. They need to fire Michelle!! My father had a similar experience with her at his appointment, likening her to the ugly troll who doesn't let people pass her bridge without payment. Left an awful taste in my mouth and will tell everyone I know not to go there because of her.

I'm not really freaked out about dentists, so there's that, but if I've ever needed a needle or anything, him and his assistant W. always make me feel at ease and comfortable. He never makes me have any work done that I don't want to (unless it's necessary) and gives me all of my options. He doesn't push anything just to get paid. The staff in his office are all amazing. The girls that currently work there have all been there for at least 10 years - I can't remember anyone before these ladies. from B. at the front desk to the hygenists and assistants. They almost make me feel like an old friend. They always ask about my dad, my husband, my job, and remember details about my life. We pick up our conversations where we left off six months prior. I can't say enough about any of them - just beyond nice and friendly, in a totally genuine way. When I had my first appointment after my mom passed away (who also went to Dr. Nikolaj), I walked in and they all gave me a hug and had tears in their eyes. Truly caring people. I've never had any issues with booking an appointment, and they're really great about calling with reminders. If you think your appointment is a little too far away, they'll put you on the cancellation list and call you if anything opens up. They always seem to be taking new patients as well. No appointments on Fridays.

If he has to give needles, they don't even hurt if you can believe that. If any of us have an emergency, they are quick to make room for us in the schedule. There is rarely any wait time and there are no hassles with rescheduling appointments. They are very understanding and take the patient's best interest to heart when dealing with them. Highly recommended.

I was referred here by my Dentist for a consultation as my lower front gums are starting to recede…read more I was told there was two ways to treat this. A minor surgey where collagen strips are implanted into my gums to bulk them up. The other is taking flesh from the roof of my mouth and grafting it on to my gums. Why is not minor, very painful and has a very long recovery/healing time. I researched both options prior to my visit with Dr. Stas Pavlenko and knew the graft was not an option for me at all. Like you couldn't pay me enough to go through that! I met with Dr. Pavelnko and he asked me what I knew about the procedures. I gave him a quick recap of what I knew followed by a VERY clear indication that the graft would not be considered. He did his exam and kept pushing the graft. He explained both procedures only have a 50/50 chance of working. I told him everyime he pushed the graft it wasn't happening. I'm not sure how many time I had to say no but at least a half dozen times. I finally had to be VERY stern and make is VERY clear to stop the grafting talk as it was never going to happen. Then I'm told I need a fancy e-ray if I want to procede with the collagen implants. I agreed, my fault for my asking the price, but no one even mentioned it so I thought it was covered under my benefits that I gave to them when I arrived. To my shock the x-rays were not covered and I had to pay $400 out of pocket. Then I asked what the procedure would cost if my health benefits didn't cover it. No one could or would give me a cost break down. They told me to wait for the preauth. To be honest it has been 3 month and no a single person has reached out to me about this. It should have been easy to say "If you insurance doesn't cover it? It will cost $2500.00." I only know the cost is approximately $1200/tooth b/c my benefits provider sent me the preapproval. Not sure why I could not be provided the cost before preauthorization. Baffling. I was supposed to go back on 10OCT2023 for yet another consultant but I ended up cancelling that the week before. So because I, the patient and the paying customer was being ignored numerous times during my visit, I was not informed of a cost of an xray before they did it and that the would mot provide me with a cost break down for the procedure I cant recommend this clinic in anyway.
